One of my favorite 90s subgenres is the Euro dance songs that had the sassy R&Bish singer belting the choruses and the gravelly voiced guy rapping the verses/bridge. This includes "Gonna Make You Sweat" but also "Be My Lover," "Around the World," Barbie Girl," etc. Basically, roller rink music.

My dead relative story for jump around was my dad was telling me a story where he and some other guys were working with his dad (my grandpa) in the shop with the radio blasting that song, grandpa was in the other room trying to focus on something and walked out into the shop and grabbed the radio and threw it on the ground and yelled “F***” and kicked it across the room, then went back into his office to finish what he was working on and everyone stared at my dad like “wtf” as he just shrugged and got back to work. I Wouldn't consider C+C music factory a "One Hit Wonder" As a nineties kid, they had like at least 3 major hit songs off that first record and a couple of other albums that had top 40 hits or top dance chart songs. "Things that make you Go Hmmm" and "Do you want to get Funky" come to mind.

One of my favorite 90s subgenres is the Euro dance songs that had the sassy R&Bish singer belting the choruses and the gravelly voiced guy rapping the verses/bridge. This includes "Gonna Make You Sweat" but also "Be My Lover," "Around the World," Barbie Girl," etc. Basically, roller rink music.

My dead relative story for jump around was my dad was telling me a story where he and some other guys were working with his dad (my grandpa) in the shop with the radio blasting that song, grandpa was in the other room trying to focus on something and walked out into the shop and grabbed the radio and threw it on the ground and yelled “F***” and kicked it across the room, then went back into his office to finish what he was working on and everyone stared at my dad like “wtf” as he just shrugged and got back to work.
