Tom Yum Soup w/ Fish Recipe ต้มยำปลา - Hot Thai Kitchen!

- It's rare to find a Thai restaurant that doesn't serve tom yum soup...but it's even more rare to find one that serves tom yum FISH soup! This is a popular variation of tom yum soup in Thailand, which is a country that eats a lot of fish in general, but for some reason I haven't seen it served anywhere in North America. That ocean flavour of the fish broth goes incredibly well with the tart lime juice and all the citrusy herbs that are iconic of tom yum. It's one of the most comforting yet refreshing soups to have any time of year!

Pailin I just love your videos. The Tom Yum soup looks very delicious . I will try it. I need to buy a steamer.
Omg, I was salivating!! I could use some!!
I made this a few nights ago! I was able to get a fish head and that added tons of flavor to my soup. The head has a lot of tender meat. I had used fresh catfish filets and added some of my favorite stewing vegetables in addition to yours. This recipe is definitely a winner and now my favorite way to eat tom yum 🐟🌶😋
After how many years of watching your channel, I am still learning something new every video. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. I was re-watching the Gai Yang videos and I can't believe it's been that many years. Awesome young lady!! Keep them coming!

Tom Yam with fried tofu is delicious, too. I use the lemon grass fried tofu and brown rice to make it a meal, with seconds!
I can't wait to try this recipe. I love tilapia too. I don't have all the main ingredients to make right now.
Hey Pai.... this was the bomb soup! it kind of taste like singagang(filipino dish) but the smell is different but soooo wonderful! Thank You!❤️
Looks like a really tasty and simple recipe. I really like how you simplify all these cooking and give great tips. I am going to try it for sure. Lots of love and Take Care Pai. 🤗😊☺🤗
Very tasteful recipes
i use chicken stock for a more rounded and subtle flavour, also i use large yellow onion if i don't have access to shallots, and of course lots of lime juice... yum.
T-shirt reminds me of when I've been to Bangkok Bobay Tower. I always get back home with 10 different 10 shirts for 10 different days.
I LOVE YOUR SHIRT!

Thankyou for this video. I have had fish broth, boiled head and bones, frozen for a while now and was just given some fresh galangal. In searching on how to use galangal I have found you and this particular video. I grow my own chillis and suspect i will have some scary tom yums, thankyou :)

I thought I just saw a video a couple of days ago!
Ohmigosh! Drooling here! This is similar to filipino sinigang. And I do eat mine with the rice in the soup, too. So yummy & healthy.
After my first visit to Thailand in 2006, i cannot live without tom yum in my life:) I have it with any seafood or just mushrooms or just random veggies:) Its all about the tom yum broth... soooooo good

Damn, it's sooo teasing!))) I'm a huge fish fan and a sports fan and it's a perfect dish for me, thank you so much! I want is sooo bad, but I'm not sure, that I'll find all the ingredients hier in Germany...However, I've just looked up...I can order galangal by Amazon and even fresh))))
Asian markets have frozen ones.
I'm gg head to the grocery store now to get ingredients for this.
The best
Uuuummmmm thank you Pai
I don't understand why so many people are hating on tilapia. For me it's very good and affordable. Maybe I'm not too picky.
Hey cHemon - and yes we're a little surprised ourselves from the bad rap that Tilapia is getting, and that might be because we are in Canada where the issues that seem to surround it are a bit of a non-issue (our fish farms are different for instance from those in China). Great article here from Univ. of Calif. Berkeley on how the details and how some of the "tilapia is bad" stories got started www.berkeleywellness.com/healthy-eating/food/food-safety/article/truth-about-tilapia
My favourite.
Robot
Yummy Yum Yum Soup :)
Nice
I love Lemongrass so much that I had to plant some here in my Yard in Florida. It grows like a weed in a corner of my yard all year round lol. I am sure I will love this soup, need to give it a go. That Butane burner that you use, do you find it hot enough to work stir fry recipes with out having to wait too long in between to add more ingredients. The one I have seems to be too weak and I have to wait a long time or it cools too much. It is a much weaker version than yours though. I need a good strong portable burner for my cooking studio. Thanks so much as always for the great content.
Heya! I think the burner that we use could heat my house :) ... it's far more powerful than the gas stove I have in the back ... so maybe get an Iwatani? (Check out Tools on the web site.)
Awesome Sauce. Thank You So Much, will do. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
@@Fgcbear15 once you know how to use and love those, they are indispensable.
Fish heads, fish heads
Roly poly fish heads
Fish heads, fish heads
Eat them up, yum
In the morning, laughing happy fish heads
In the evening, floating in the soup
amazing recipe Pai! can't wait to try it
I always put coconut milk in Tom Yum. 😋😋😋
Hi Pai, thanks for the recipe but I have a question. You added the lemon juice after the fire was off but it was still hot enoughto be able to cook the the lime juice. But how come it didn't turn out to be bitter ?
yum yum. :)
Mmm, I have not made salmon head tom yum in a long while. Americanized people I live with always complain that the house "stinks" after. I always put rice in all of my clear Asian soups too! Unrelated to this, but I also miss Kapi 😋
Just had this at a local restaurant! It was amazing though they kinda battered and deepfried the fish before adding it to the soup...
thank you.
Please make a video for seefruit salat :)
เคยทำต้มยำกุ้ง แต่ไม่เคยทำหรือกินต้มยำปลา อยากลองทำ อิอิ
Hey Pai! Can you please make Thai Roti with banana? It is my all time favourite Thai dessert! Thanks :D

I'm having a party and I'm considering whether to leave the fish heads in lol
Nice.jamaica 🇯🇲
Sticky rice is good too.
Tom ka gai. Not so sure about fish, though it looks delicious with tilapia.
