I thought it was the end of our Prius when I got that triangle. Turns out, it was a simple fix. Glad I could help!

Fantastic video. Just replaced my 2009 Prius Inverter pump as well. From everything I have read, it looks like the Prius should shut the vehicle down if your pump fails and temps get too high. My wife and daughter were able to drive another 15 miles or so on the freeway to get the car home so I could repair it. I saw a lot of cheap pumps on Amazon, but ended up going for a more expensive one as it seemed like the lifespan on some of the cheaper ones was limited.

Thanks! If you’re thinking of keeping your Prius long-term, I’d definitely recommend more expensive parts because they are typically more durable. I purchased a few higher quality parts to fix issues on my Civic and Dakota. Hoping to make videos soon.

Pump's metal bracket bolt to car body torque to 5 ft/lb. Inverter bolt on that black brace torque to 16ft/lbs.

I did not know that, thank you. I just use the ol’ ‘feel that it’s tight enough’ trick

I mentioned that you also had the airbag code to fix. Did you fix it? I also have the same problem. Changed the steering wheel spiral but still did not help. Could youx advise please?

I haven’t reset the airbag yet, which is how you fix it and make the sign on your dashboard go away. You can do that by visiting your local dealer (cost will be about $100+ depending on your vehicle), or you can purchase your own ‘car scanner’ device (aka OBD scanner) such as the Foxwell NT510 elite off Amazon.
Someone else can add on if you have tips to share.

looks like you replaced with a non-toyota OEM pump off amazon or ebay. How is it holding up?

You’re right, purchased off Amazon for about $30. 6 months later haven’t have any issues

    Pause!
Why didn't you point into a dark area near the engine?
First video with a light and actually show the pump!
