“I hide myself within my flower” is a watercolor painting dedicated to Emily Dickinson’s poem of the same name.
Unlike my other paintings, this is not a commissioned or licensed work, but a quiet painting for myself.
My old high school English teacher used to say it takes real life experience to appreciate Miss Dickinson’s poetry. In my case, it took just about 3 decades worth of great joys and heartaches for me to start resonating with her poetry.
