Well tbh I have a friend who eats a lot like A LOT but she is still really thin and doesn't gain weight easily. She tried a lot but just can't , she just has a high metabolism and it runs in her family. Just to be clear she is not unhealthy, just skinny. Similarly even I don't gain easily but I eat a lot. My meals are not unhealthy but they are in no way calorie calculated. I just eat what I want and the meal includes all the nutrients required.
What I eat in a day never made sense to me cause I literally eat so different everyday. One day is a heavy 5 course meal with snacks between and the next is a simple pasta salad with some garlic bread and maybe a corn dog 😂😂
What I eat in a day videos are also pointless and out of touch for people like me with a very tight work schedule. I can't make fancy meals 3 times a day and have 10 snacks. I get 2 10-minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch break, just like every other hourly employee in my state. My what I eat in a day is whatever I throw into my lunch bag
Basically people what we see in social media is 99,9% staged and we shouldn't take into consideration what these people are trying to pass of as "normal" "doable" etc. it's just something that helps you to pass the time with and nothing more.
A few of my more favorite food channels discuss what they're doing with the leftover. Babish's show Anime with Alvin makes tons of food and they always show Alvin boxing up the leftovers for the crew to take home. Jolly will also show the crew eating the leftovers which is nice because that means more than just the people on camera get to try tasty food.
Having been on two press trips, I can confirm that a lot of food gets wasted and even if you're just taking nibbles it's still possible to get sick. My poor teenager threw up on our first press trip.
Honestly, I think everyone should just try to feel good. Fuck being skinny or curvy or whatever else, fuck being like influencers or celebrities, eat and exercise and dress and act the way that makes you feel the best. I always feel like the rhythm is “first bite, reaction, peel almost all of the food off and throw away/feed to boyfriend, last bite shot”. A friend of mine in figure skating told me that it can be a constant metabolic battle between the fact that your muscles want to get big and you need the strength, and you’re also under a lot of pressure to look dainty and feminine in the costumes.
