They are so cute. I read the thoughts of Kaveh after dinner and even there were no leftovers, he orders extra food for Alhaitham, just to make sure he will get his share. 😭😭😭 Love them, Hoyo really did a great job introducing the complex character of Kaveh ❤ He will get my Primos.

@@talisa222 I feel this way too, but at the same time, Alhaitham is kind of the only one who understands Kaveh completely, and I think he needs someone who understands him that much
al haitham was always against the kindness of kaveh. Like he always criticize how kaveh's kindness makes him poor. But in the event he did not even judged kaveh with his decision to donate all of his prize money to the people. That prize money would have let him get rid of kaveh. Boy don't want kaveh to move out .
It’s not the kindness that Al Haitham criticizes-I think it’s more his blind sense of selflessness that’s driven even more from his backstory. For example if it was kindness that he really had a problem kindness then in turn he would have a problem with Nilou but he seems extremely tactful. Al Haitham I believe criticizes Kaveh a lot because not only does he care about him but holds respect for his views but believes he goes too far for the sake of his ideals quite a bit which causes himself suffer due to it and maybe at times Kaveh closes himself off to understanding the ideals. Making his ideology extremely impractical and reckless for living his life which Al Haitham cannot agree with but can respect due to his own morals and probably the high risk of such dedication.
@@dekume3312 blind sense of selflessness = kindness. too much and right amount of selflessness is just translated to kindness. both kaveh's action that was criticized by al haitham and the action of kaveh in the event are proof of his selflessness/kindness. he was fooled by that key chain seller since he has genuine kindness in him. He did not doubt the seller or think of a chance that it is just a scam because he is kind by nature. He is not influenced by what kind of person or nature he is helping. Some people are only kind to dogs because they like dogs or some people only help elders because they sympathize the elderly. It was shown that kaveh's kindness knows no boundary.

I know right? Alhaitham doesn't want him to move out, he might be blunt, sometimes rude and mean, but it's not on purpose, that's way he is, Alhaitham cares about Kaveh in his own way but will never admit it. Gosh, their interaction and frenemy moments are my favourite among all Genshin characters, I love polar opposites together.
I think one of the main reasons Alhaitham did research on Sachin is because of Kaveh, it eventually involved Kaveh's father.
I think that Alhaitham is someone who seems to believe that you can't help everyone. For him to see someone wanting to do just that in such an extreme way that they are no longer able to help themselves, it makes no sense to him, hence all the arguments.
Alhaitham also seems to care about Kaveh far more than Kaveh may realise. He wouldn't let him stay in his house otherwise. Their relationship is fascinating.

it's so interesting to see alhaitham and kaveh's dynamic. in the surface, it will actually just seem like they cannot stand each other. they insult each other and have obviously different perspectives in things, but if you actually dig deeper into them, you will see that they actually care about each other very much.
alhaitham, though might come off as insensitive or emotionless, is actually quite emotionally intelligent just by the fact that he knows how kaveh thinks and acts accordingly and appropriately. he likes riling him up during mundane conversations (as we've seen multiple times in the story AND this event alone) but is especially patient with him, he also knows where to draw the line when he thinks that things my trek the boundary of 'insulting' (as we've seen in the event where he either changes the topic or stays silent). he understands the way kaveh thinks but he also wants to set boundaries as he believes that kaveh's empathy might be his biggest downfall (*example:* he passes out trying to get the desert foxes out, willingly believes scams if the reasons are for "the greater good") and reacts to kaveh's actions in a way that's sensible (which kaveh actually understands but never changes his views on things still. hence the line, _"... Even so, I stand by my views. -"_). i dare even say that alhaitham enjoys discussing these views with kaveh as it puts things in a newer perspective that he's possibly never considered before.
kaveh on the other hand, worn down by his troubles, is the complete opposite of alhaitham. he has this guilt in him from his father's death and tries whatever he can to keep things together to the point where it burdens him unnecessarily. he also is the type to not accept "pure goodwill", meaning he just cannot take things that are handed to him as he believes that he doesn't deserve it (guilt from his father's death. example being: when he refuses to accept faruzan's offer of just handing him the win in the first round of the event). he's foolishly dedicated just for the sake of upholding his views and beliefs (in kaveh's leaked story, he once built on a withering zone but it ended up in shambles, he in turn, sold everything he had to rebuild it all again from scratch with his own wealth despite how everyone else has told him to not continue).
with how kaveh is, the way alhaitham actually handles his behaviour is very on point and is the perfect way to handle someone as troubled as the architect. alhaitham does not dislike kaveh, he wouldn't let him live with him otherwise. talking about their living situation, we know that kaveh and alhaitham were (as said in kaveh's story) friends, best friends even, but something happened during their time doing a project together and kaveh ended up saying and doing things he later on regretted (he yelled at alhaitham when alhaitham was just pointing out how his behaviour is unnecessarily burdening him and kaveh tears apart the copy of their research paper☹️). we also know that kaveh doesn't live in alhaitham's place for free. he does the chores and even has to pay rent. if you still didn't get it, this is alhaitham's way of caring for kaveh while at the same time adhering to how he thinks. kaveh is someone that doesn't accept "pure goodwill". he does not like it when things are handed to him for free. him doing chores in alhaitham's house and paying rent are things that are good for kaveh, as he doesn't feel any guilt as he's just living in alhaitham's house without contributing to anything. it's genius! two birds in one stone, he can take care of kaveh while not making the other feel guilty.
*conclusions*
alhaitham and kaveh do _not_ hate each other. they're friends that have are slowly rebuilding their trust and friendship step by step. they're two people that can understand each other perfectly (kaveh's voiceline about alhaitham saying that the guy has a big personality and people just don't get him and also how alhaitham is patient towards kaveh in general, knows how to handle him) yet firmly believe in their truths and ideals. they're two sides of the same coin, logical and idealistic, empathy and ego, etc etc. alhaitham's practical thinking keeps kaveh grounded and alhaitham makes sure that kaveh doesn't get too idealistic with his thinking. they both help each other, despite the rocky relationship they have right now. there's still a long way to go for both of them but im sure they'll be good friends in the end.

These 2 dynamic is so good second to diluc and kaeya my only gripe is they have a power imbalance as in kaveh is a 4 star and lives in Al haithums house so Al has a bit more of a 'upper hand ' against him
Also, Kaveh does all the domestic chores around the house, he is the one who cooks, cleans etc. He offered to help in the domestic chores, but he got saddles with all the housework, because Alhaitham is lazy...He also pays rent too...
But Alhaitham pays his drinks, and even food somethimes so...
It not that Alhaitham is lazy, he knows that Kaveh can't accept kindness for "free" because he doesn't feel deserving of it (same reason as to why Kaveh left to luck the matter of who gets the points in the tournament, even if Faruzan was ok with just giving the points to him). If Kaveh feels that Alhaitham lets him stay there just to saddle him with the housework rather than as an act of kindness, then he can accept living there.
I wouldn't say there's real power imbalance in their relationship. Kaveh has plenty of friends and probably someone else could house him, but Alhaitham is the only one who could offer him help in a way Kaveh would accept it, because he knows him really well.
@@mekinot Kaveh can accept kindness, and help. He did accept Tighnari's help a lots of times, and even in the event they talked about how many times Tighnari treated Kaveh. Tighnari even helped him during the designing the Palace of Alcazarzaray. He was the one recommending plants to the garden, since he is a botanist, and he did it for free, and Kaveh accepted it.
Kaveh didn't want to do all the housework. he just wanted to help. Alhaitham doesn't know what is the best way to help kaveh. he just has a solution which kind of works, but at the same time it's damaging their relationship even further in the long run, with his cruel words. This happened in the past too. The fallout between them happened (during the shared project) because Alhaitham went overboard, and used something very personal against Kaveh in an argument.
@@pepita2437 He used something very personal against Kaveh because Kaveh was (once again) hurting himself with his self-destructive tendencies, which people tend to conveniently ignore when talking about Alhaitham's actions towards him. He can accept help in certain matters, but not when it comes to him personally. You read his leaked character story by what you said, but I'd advise you to read it again. The fact that Kaveh feels undeserving of good things is stated pretty explicitly there.

If you choose to tell kaveh yourself about his father, you won't get the conversation between kaveh and alhaitham. If you choose to not tell kaveh, then the conversation on this video will be trigered.
I only talked to dori on the first day and completely forgot about her after that so the gamw automatically navigate me to the conversation between the two

@@somelove9872 yes.. I forget about dori after the first day.. Then after the conversation with wanderer and nahida, the game navigate me to the akademiya. When i get there, i saw alhaitham and kaveh together.
Maybe because i did not complete the investigation in dori side, so logically idk about kaveh's father so the game automatically trigger the scene when alhaitham is the one who told kaveh the truth

Throughout the game so far, there have been multiple times where we see Haitham care about Kaveh. Taking him in in the first place, buying him wine as apology, constantly trying to make him realize how much he is hurting himself through his own actions.
Alhaitham has always been caring towards Kaveh in his own way, but Kaveh always took it in the worst way and actually started many of their fights. People don't reallly notice, cause Haitham never reacts, but Kaveh says some terrible things about and to Haitham. Yet we know he cares too.
I feel people really misinterpret the dynamic as one sided bullying way too often (mainly through woobifying Kaveh and making him the victim in everything, when he brings most of his troubles on himself), when it's just a mutual struggle to communicate properly. And once they do, the care really shines through.
@@Shamangirl92 believe me I had the same idea as you are , but both of them are more like scholars whose relationship should be kept in workplace since it seemed like they had a better relationship then,, Alhaitham can speak good about other people, but he’s being a total asshole towards Kaveh and it’s really infuriating me, like how he called him “that architect” and many other situations, don’t get me wrong I’m an alhaitham main and I love him sm but I won’t lie and not admit that his behavior towards his roommate is kinda iffy ,, hope we get a better perspective about their relationship in the hangout or alhaitham gets to fix his behavior towards his what should be his friend of years

I get that people love seeing these two interact (I'm one of them lol), but I still am happy picking the ending where we got to talk to Kaveh about his dad, it makes his role with us a little more special
I used to ship these two religiously but I don’t anymore; kaveh deserve someone better and happiness while Al isn’t the person to do so and he certainly don’t have the capacity to do so with anyone;
How did you see this scene and come to that conclusion. Alhaitham bashing is really out of control at this point. Throughout this quest and really throughout the game, we see he cares about Kaveh and is frustrated that Kaveh continues to sabotage himself because of his guilt complex.
Yes, he can be overly blunt, but he reall just says things Kaveh honestly needs to hear, but doesn't want to. Alhaitham knows Kaveh isn't stupid and his way of doing it isn't wrong, but so long as he is self-sabotaging instead of goal oriented, he is never going to realiza what he wants.
Haitham researched all about Sachin and knew what it wouod mean for Kaveh. If you watch his reactions and comments, you can clearly tell he is pushing Kaveh towards his realization at the end.
He is even smiling when he announces Kaveh as the winner. He honestly means it, even when Kaveh doesn't think so.
At the end, for no gain to himself, Alhaitham helps Kaveh come to the conclusion that makes him happiest. Even gives him closure on his father. The teasing at the end is clearly mutual and endearing.
Plus Kaveh has said many terrible things about and to Alhaitham as well, we all just ignore it, because Haitham doesn't react.
This is not the case of one side being mean to the poor, victimized other one, but a mutual struggle to communicate properly.
And there is care, Alhaitham was basically a mentor to Kaveh in this quest.
Idk, I just feel your analyses here is ways off. Please don't turn Kaveh into a helpless victim and Alhaitham into an evil robot.

At the end of the day Alhaitham doesn’t owe kaveh shit so if someone is living in your house and nagging you at the top of that I would be as mad as him and just wish for them to leave period.
@@malisakyo6550 I disagree on that. Especially the Alhaitham just wants to live alone part. Because it's clear he values Kaveh's presence or else he would not have let him stay in the first place and never go out of his way to do things for him, like he did throughout all this quest. You don't have to ship them anymore, but to say that they don't do each other good at all and Haitham should just be forever alone is a clear misunderstanding of what we have been presented with so far.
@@Shamangirl92 I don’t know where did you see him value Kaveh, but I tried my best to see that and couldn’t. HE ABSOLUTELY DOESNT VALUE HIM ,through his voicelines or the event. He just treats him as someone incompetent and an old classmate who ‘freeloads’ in his house
