I'm the proud owner of a Scott Addict Gravel upgraded with Zipp 303 Firecrests. By far my favorite bike. My other 2 bikes are a Scott Spark and a Cervelo Soloist Ultegra Di2. The Gravel bike puts the biggest smile on my face.
can you go two wheelsets and call it a road/gravel do it all bike? Thinking of going for the lower grx 810 model and some chinesse carbon wheelset for the road setup
I have a Scott Addict Gravel 10 with Zipp 303 Firecrests. I recently put 38mm Rene Herse Barlow Pass tires that actually measure 42mm. With the addition of the wheels and tires it ticks so many boxes. I'm over here in Oregon so instead of destroying my road bike during the wet wet winters I use my gravel bike. I also use it on gravel and offroad often. Probably 50% road 50% gravel. Those longer gravel rides just happen to be on the weekend. As far as comfort goes - if you get the tires at the right/ appropriate PSI for what you're doing, the bike is more than comfortable and fast. I had a diverge prior to this and I prefer the versatility of this bike over the diverge in almost every way. The comfort is comparable to the Diverge. If you can find one of these, I would highly recommend it. It's a bike that is hard to find flaws and so great to live with.
Great overview! I have owned my '22 Addict Gravel 30 for a month and I absolutely love it. So fast, very smooth and decently comfortable. A very rare bike in my area so people complement the paint job too. Hoping to keep it for a long time.
When the Scott Gravel Tuned was first shown about a year ago that was the bike I wanted. Searched high and low world wide for complete bike or frameset ever since without any success. Scott Sport Aus/NZ were only bringing in the 20 & 30 models which I didnt want. Then a LBS suddenly had the Wilier Rave SLR Di2 which I got as I was over waiting for the Tuned. The Wilier is a nice bike but I think the Tuned is better value for $. If and when a Tuned becomes available I'll probably still buy it. In the meantime I have to sell my Scott Addict RC20 and Canyon Grail CF SL...
I got the Scott Addict 30 gravel. Such i nice bike and very comfortable. About to upgrade with GRX Di2. This bike is cheap compared to other brands. I highly recommend it.
You might wanna hold off on GRX Di2 because it's being updated next year to bring it in line with the other groupsets. So 12-speed, semi-wireless and most important brakes that don't scrap when you ride through a puddle!
Great, how does it compare to Cannondale Topstone, which do you think is more balanced in terms of geometry and ability to perform on various terrain? Looking for a versatile bike which would be fast, responsive and comfortable enough on gravel.
Only downfall is no UHD rear meaning no SRAM RED XPLR upgrade option. That said, I absolutely love mine. I run the same Creston Carbon Si bars as I do on my Scott Addict RC Road. Best tip ever… run the same bars on your roadie as your gravel bike!
Well I’ve been waiting a while for this one. I got my 10 5 months ago and it’s just the best. I agree with everything you have said but can verify that the tyres are pretty weak. I just put 30 mm corsa’s on for an experiment while it was sunny on Saturday and this bike is just so fast on the road. I will switch back to the 45 for the winter but really want a good cut resistant set of tyres as an upgrade. The saddle is firm but the ride is firm. I had to upgrade the bar tape to the 3.5mm Ergon.
I had this exact model on order. I was going to convert it to a 1x setup. Lovely bike and I think well specced for the price with those DTSwiss Carbon wheels. I did cancel it, however. Got fed up waiting for it to arrive. I went with the faster & lighter Vielo R+1 Race Edition and I haven't regretted it.
when it comes down to speed for gravel its all about the tires - I've ridden several bikes this year and almost any bike with a semi-slick tire was faster than the others.
Hey David, Scott has actually been making CX and gravel bikes prior to this model so they aren't just entering the gravel market. I placed an order for the addict gravel 30 but ended up canceling it for an aspero due to long wait times..etc
True, but the Addict Gravel was just a modified version of the Addict CX and not a true gravel bike in terms of tyre clearance and versatility to my eyes, so good to see them address that with this new model
Hi David, thanks for the review, as usual very detailed and helpful. As I'm still in my quest for my new dream bike, this one is already on my short list, Just wondering if this one would be recommend for "heavy jigs", I mean over 95kgs driver (my case, even sporty but sill over 95 😉). Most review I see are considering bike specs, eventually segment (more racy or comfort, etc), kind of terrain and more, but not so much about the driver. As it is quite complex for "non RUclipsrs" to test and try bikes actually, opinion and user feedback could be helpful there. Cheers from France.
Woah! Great bike! I fell in love with it from the day I saw it, aesthetically and functionally incredible. Versatile for all types of terrain and adventures. Just awesome. The only problem is the delivery, I have the order confirmation since June of this year but I have not received it yet, and worst of all, no delivery forecast from Scott. For now the wait continues, I hope not for too long. Thanks for the great video and review, David. 🙏
I’ve had mine since January this year. My only complaint is I ordered a longer stem in May. It was supposed to ship in December. That has now been delayed to April. You can put whatever bar you want on it, but you are kind of stuck with their intergraded stem that seemingly will never show up….
I have had the 30 since April. It’s awesome. However, be wary of Scott parts. I am waiting for stock of a new stem since originally getting the bike. Scott advised Summer, then 2023 Spring, now it just says ‘the future’! Would love David to nudge someone at Scott to get the correct information. It’s an oversized steerer and integrated so need the OEM parts. Thanks.
Bike sounds like a more sturdy CX campaigner (as a 1x...). Just swap the 45s for 33s or 35 for Masters and voile!). Wouldn't use it for anything beyond moderate off-road abuse; skinny rims and tires... As per 2x vs. 1x, 1x rules(!). Continuous power-band up and down the cluster vs. abrupt cadence change upshifting or downshifting the front rings.
Looking to buy the 2024 addict gravel 30 1x12 Rival.. thanks for the great review! Your surroundings look strangely familiar to me, was this shot in the Chilterns?
Great review.... Looking at this bike and the Ridley Kanzo Fast... (which only comes in x1, which is what I want) Only down side therefore to this model is it's a x2. Had a look at the Cube C62 too... Not sure which to order 🤔
I considered exactly the same bikes, but ordered the Scott. I actually value 2x over 1x. Would’ve taken the Cube over Kanzo fast as the Kanzo has some top tube scratching issues (check other videos on RUclips)
Hey David, this is a great in-depth review of the bike but have one quick question. I'm looking for an all rounder bike that can make 70% road 30% gravel and this is one of my contenders, do you see big similarities with the road version? Thinking I may get a set of extra wheels for road days and one for gravel days. What do you think?
Are there reasons you prefer 1x other than mud buildup? I personally prefer 2x because of tighter gear ratios and longer chainring life, but would be interested in knowing if there are other benefits to 1x that I'm missing. That Classified hub really seems to be a good solution for people riding in muddy conditions - surprised that we haven't seen more of it.
I have the SRAM explr 1x group set on my Revolt. I’m getting used to the bigger jumps in gearing, but still think 2x is more versatile and faster. I do like the clean look though of 1x. If you’re racing or bike packing 2x is gonna be better imo.
Getting rid of the front derailleur allows space for wider tires. As well as a full frame bag more easily, if you're into bikepacking. Also with 1x you can get a cleaner cockpit arrangement while still running a dropper post and mechanical setup, rather than selling a kidney for electric. And, its just one less thing to break. Everyone is different, but I spend the most time on my 1x bike and I never miss the other chainring. The reason we don't see more of the classified hub is because its overpriced, restricted to full wheel builds, and proprietary. If I were that concerned about mud, I'd just get a cheap Shimano Afline 11, or just go single speed. But people have been using derailleurs in muddy conditions for decades. Even in the clay out where I live, I've never snapped a derailleur on mud. And my that's a cheaper replacement, even a few times, than a classified wheel.
Great Review. Just one question: Is it possible to fit a 52t ring under the front derailleur. Would be great to have enough gearing to really get some road power but also enough gearing to go off road.

Why doesn't the Ridley Kanzo Fast get more air-time? I believe they have teamed up with Classified to offer a 2x system using the rear hub 'derailleur'.
Great review. I've always had a soft spot for Scotts as race bikes and this is a looker. But, outside the highest level of competition, I can't see carbon as the ideal material for the gravel application. It's vulnerable to damage, looks tired quickly, it's not massively lighter when whole bike weight is considered and its notoriously limiting for frame designers in a rapidly evolving segment. As a major negative, it struggles to incorporate wide tyres and sufficient mud clearance (like here). On the plus side, it does allow aero profiling and integration. Yay...
