Still one of the most menacing riffs in heavy metal.
And vengeful lyrics too.
@FredPena-rd5cf yeah they certainly hated their record company, put these guys through the ringer.
Indeed it is. Dig it!
@@jeffreylauzon7630 yep i have a few of the books written on them. Much of the Sabotage record is about that too.
Which one? 😂
The next song, a National Acrobat is 🔥 I can’t wait!!!!
At times my favorite Black Sabbath album and National Acrobat maybe my favorite song on this album
Fave off this album
I agree - the next song is even better!
Totally agree...Geezer's riff according to his book..
Heads exploding when they get to next song 🤘
That riff at 4:31 is possibly the heavy riff in heavy metal history.
But then there's the riff in Dirty Women. And Lonely Is The Word. And Sign Of The Southern Cross. And...
Yes sir!
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath was a metal masterpiece
I am a 72 Y/O Sabbath fan since 1968 and to this day I still enjoy listening to this fabulous band!
Same here...67 years old. I've been listening to this album since I was 17. It's timeless.
Well, I was 3 in 1968, so I had to jump on board the Black Sabbath fan list a bit later.
i’m a young buck but i love heavy metal. i just had a question. when did black sabbath really start grabbing the attention of people and becoming more mainstream? was it the late 60s? i never really knew the timeline of when they became popular. keep on rocking 🤘
I am 70 and also a huge Sabbath fan. Still listen to them as no one does Metal better than them. They were iconic and masters of their craft.
Crazy to think they invented a genre that has spawned hundreds of bands, and yet no one sounds like Sabbath.
Black Sabbath is the first Heavy Metal band and the best Heavy Metal band 🤘😎
My favourite Sabbath album !!
Same
Me too
You're reaction almost brings a tear to the eye. You're reaction to this song is second to none, I'm 70..they are my favorite band of all time....my father nearly threw me out of the house back in the day because I played it endlessly...the whole album , of course!!!
Luckily I had headphones, but I know what you mean.
If anyone wondered who put the HEAVY in heavy metal this junt answers that, and the world's never been the same.
One of Ozzy's best vocals. Great song from a great album. Ozzy Sabbath is best Sabbath. Great reaction.
It’s a dirty dirty deep grungy song. About as low And dirty as you get! It’s freaking awesome! It does sound like hell!
My first concert, I was 10 years old, changed my world forever, 1971 Black Sabbath at the Spectrum in Philly
I saw them at the spectrum when van halen opened for them. Maybe 77/78
They were my first concert too! I was 16 years old 1976. No better band to pop your concert cherry on than Black Sabbath.
10 yo! You win Life!
@@hippylong It was '78 VH on their first album and Sabbath on the Never Say Die tour, last before Ozzy left the band. I was there too and actually met Sabbath that night!!!
No one could ever imagine the chorus is a beautiful ballad.
A banger from Ozzy! 50 years later…still wows.
Actually it's Black Sabbath not solo Ozzy
imagine a 14 year old in1976 listening to this..well it was real..I lived it...fantastic then fantastic now
Yep, that was me. And Aladdin Sane had just come out…
Black sabbaths music has the power to warp time.
They probably did hear you back then 🫠
Im no historian, but that right there is the first modern metal song! For years, everyone raved that only the first 4 albums were classic sabbath. 5&6 have always been my favorite. Your in for a treat.
Gizzer the base player wrote most of their songs
If someone likes grunge as well as metal, 5 & 6 will make them need to lie down.
Both Ozzy and Tony have said that they consider Sabbath Bloody Sabbath their best album, and the peak of the band. So I would definitely trust their opinions
For me, their first 6 albums are all classics and #7 is not far off, Never Say Die was a disappointment for me and my friends but #13 was a great way to wrap up their catalog, another great Sabbath album..
The cassette I carried with me in my teens.
In the supermarket the other day an elderly woman, upon learning all the honeydew melons were sold out, exclaimed "Bog blast all of you !!" 🙂
I believe this was released in 1973…amazing!
My favorite Black Sabbath song back in the day, still is i think
Black Sabbath came along at the tail end of the "peace and love" generation of the 60s and gave it a swift kick in the ass on its way out the door.
🤣👍
Ironically, they were sending the same message, but with some balls and anger
Well said😂
@@mwfmtnman Yes, they were. And it's what rock and roll needed at the time. They didn't come from the art and music school backgrounds that a lot of their British contemporaries did. They came from an industrial working-class - sometimes dangerous - background and it reflected in their music.
Remember, this was the EARLY-70's. People weren't ready for this....
God I Love Black Sabbath
Great song and the album is, IMHO, the best thing Sabbath ever did!
R U kidding me? You two on 🔥 today. 🎉
It's been great fun watching you two evolve into epic Sabbath fans. They are the true godfathers of heavy metal. Rock on brothas! 🤘🏾
“ No more tomorrows, life is killing you”.
“Living just for dying, dying just for you”. Just an incredible lyric!
my favorite sabbath album
I hope you guys are ready for the next song. National acrobat, it's a banger buckle up and enjoy the ride
This is one of the first albums i bought in the 70s. I'm rewatching the reaction right now. Round two.
S.B.S. my favorite Sabbath album by far. Great riffs and ghostly effects. It cooks!
The greatest Black Sabbath album in my opinion. It is such a masterpiece. It just gets better from here!
My absolute favorite song from them 🤘
70's was THE decade
The whole album is amazing !
We told you this song this was a banger. This is my favorite Sabbath album because the whole album is fantastic!
The one and only and original metal. Brilliant ✨️🎶✨️
Rick Wakeman is on this album keyboards
Didn't know that ..I guess thats why it sounded so good .
Now you are getting into their peak. Sabbath at their best!!!
One of the best songs of all times !
Aw shit! Not SBS! You're in for it now!
Gentleman one of my favorite Sabbath albums. National Acrobat and Killing Yourself For Living my favorites off this album. Great reaction to the Sabbath machine. Love what you are doing for the Airplay family…
If I would make a list of my favorite metal songs in general, this song will definitely get place in my top 10. There's just everything that makes you move, from guitar riffs, Ozzy at his higher register contradicting the deep, grimy, fuzzy guitar and basslines which are very melodic. The album itself showcases Sabbath at their most melodic, at least in the Ozzy era.
Great reaction!
One of their best right there...rocks me every time. This one and Sweet Leaf are likely my two favorite Sabbath songs to listen to and play on guitar.
i cant wait till u guys here the next song! how Bill Ward gets funky and lays off the beat for a half measure before hitting the snare during the long middle part of the song. And then his flourish at the end of the song is classic Bill Ward as well.
SABBATH IN TRUE FORM!!!! ☘️🇺🇲
You can hear sample after sample utilized by so many bands that followed from each decade after. GOATS for sure.
This is one of my absolute favourites. Amazingly impressive riff by Iommi, fantastic vocals by Ozzy and equally top performances by Ward and Geezer. What a brilliant opening song for a great album. Excellent reaction too. 👏
"A National Acrobat" is next...best track on the album along with "Looking for Today"!
Brilliant Reaction Guys! Wait til you hear sabbra cadabra, thats DA TRIP!
I love it when Ozzy screams,”YOU BASTARDS!”.
In addition to the famous guitar riffs, what really surprises me about Black Sabbath, which I can't find in any other band to this day, is the heavy sound with slow tempo, mixed with some of the most beautiful/epic melodic songs, contrasting with the heavy sound.
If we look at black sabbath covers, they speed up the tempo and turn a beautiful part like 1:14 into a heavy sound and that destroys the song for me.
Great reaction guys, cheers from Portugal
They went to another level with this album. This song is one of those that takes me back in time as soon as I hear that opening riff.
Throw some love to Geezer and Ward. They deliver that rythem section express everytime. Killer lyrics Geez.
Hell yeah! A metal masterpiece! Thanks, bros!
I love reaction vids of Black Sabbath. Not my era but my favorite band. Thanks for your awesome reactions.
RIFF KINGS.
Not a BS fan strictly speaking but that’s immortal, legendary, timeless and so on.
I would play this on my way to their concert, would watch them perform this in concert and then played this on my way back home from their concert, many times over ✌️🥰🎶
This is a great Sabbath album - glad you're hitting it!
You guys are the Best.
+1
My favourite Black Sabbath song bar none. Glad you guys dug it.
RUclipsr called Razorfist has the best documentary on Sabbath I’ve ever seen.
Sabbathness is next to Godliness.
This and Vol. 4 are my favorite Sabbath albums.
Wow took me back to my teens. Good to feel young again, great album
"Solitude" is a catchy ballad , i love the song , planet caravan , etc.... Cant go wrong with sabbath
Had to watch 2 times in a roll, been waiting for your reaction, this Album and LZ houses of the holy my first ones! luv u guys reactions to be fair best song on album and in my top 5 bs songs
The Godfathers of Metal
Great song, and the rest of the album really good as well... "A National Acrobat" and "Killing Yourself To Live" are my two favorites from this album.
Bloody hell, thank goodness you guys have finally got here! Now strap yourselves in and prepare for the musical ride of your life. This is a masterpiece and one of my 3 revolving favourite albums of all time! Luvin this …, you boys will too. Can’t wait for your reactions to the rest of this record 😊🎸🥁🎤🎹
Listened to this when I was in high school in 74. What a blast from the past. Thx
That bass drop into the last verses actually blew out the speakers on my turntable/8-track/AmFm stereo first time I played this
That riff made my ankles vibrate!
There's a great version of this on Ozzy's speak of the devil album
This album and Sabotage after it are both amazingly creative.
The next song A National Acrobat you will completely love! One of my all time favorites!!!!!
2nd album I ever bought (1st was Master of Reality), about when it was released. Still a big fav. Love this song, Spiral Architect, National Acrobat, Killing Yourself to live. All of them right up with the best Sabbath songs. Slash said the ending riff of this song was the heaviest riff ever. This was the album when Ozzie started singing higher than his natural register. We called it Ozzie in banshee-mode back in the day.
This was the first Sabbath album I bought when it came out. Absolutely played it to death, which is probably why it was always my favourite.
One of my fav Sabbath songs, the riff as always by genius TI is out of this world and all these changes - fantastic. The whole album imo is their second best after Paranoid.
First time I saw them was on this tour. Awesome
Let's not forget my favorite ...Spiral Architect " silver ships on plastic oceans in disguise".
This is the first album I listened to on my own at like 10. I was hooked.
You guys reacted, just how I thought you would. Because that was my exact reaction when I dropped the needle on the vinyl at 13 years old. My head exploded, and I started pounding my head in rhythm to the groove. Then with the change up, I just had a look of disbelief on my face. When I was 12 years old, Kiss was my favorite band. No more. When I was 13, my favorite hard rock band was Black Sabbath by a mile!
YESSSSS!!! I’ve been waiting for you guys to do this one. It’s so damn filthy❤❤❤
Slash loves this song.
Idk about a documentary of their full career but Amazon Prime has a fantastic documentary on the paranoid album, it’s one of my favorite documentaries ever
When I see La's eyes rolling into the back of his head...I know what I must look like when I'm feeling Black Sabbath every time I listen. To hear this for the first time is really something to capture on video forever. It's just another reason I'm a sub. Thanks gentlemen
And this is how headbanging was born 🤘👽
Awwwww yeah!!!
ah one of my faves classic fiff
SBS is simply the best ever.. God blast all of you! So freaking good
Iconic album, fantastic material but a funny factoid: The artist for that cover is Drew Struzan who’s done all the great movie posters (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc.) & other album covers! He painted himself as the guy in the bed (cover).
The back of the album was an opposite image, all white with angels, etc.
My favorite Sabbath album well at least this stage of my life that changes back and forth
Great reaction my favorite album from them
This should have a million views by now.......
The biggest mystery is how Sabbath can be so unique, groundbreaking, & individually talented musicians- every last one of them a GOAT candidate on their chosen instrument- but at the same time they GOAT candidates for best song ARRANGERS also. The tempo changes alone in this song...I mean, what else can you say but, like, wow, man.
WEII SAID, I T0TAIIY AGREE!!!
