I'm sorry, Melbourne were not the better side for three quarters. They lost the first badly. Second quarter both sides had about the same amount of ascendency. Third quarter Collingwood kicked 4 goals to 2, which in any way you look at it is a lost quarter. It was really only the last quarter that Melbourne convincingly won.

      Yeah agreed.
Also, it’s a common strategy in like every scored sport ever to build a lead and then defend it.
You would have thought the World Cup in Australia would remind people of this: teams score 2 goals and then park the bus for 30 minutes.

It sets a precedent for players to execute shirt fronts and take out opponents by pretending to be superman and leaping in the air to smother.
Then claiming it was unavoidable contact.
This will be penalised by the AFL tribunal. Maybe reduced to 1 or 2 weeks on appeal.

Tonight’s performance indicates personnel is clearly an issue. They also lack mental toughness; their mental fragility is telling. It is also apparent the shocking preliminary final of 2021 has effectively cursed Port. Port won’t win ultimate glory until they have strong-bodied overhead marking defenders. A forward player that doesn’t choke repeatedly directly in front of goal and probably another strong bodied midfielder that can stick tackles. Far too many deficiencies in their line up to be anymore than a team that is merely making up the numbers. Too many injury prone players and out of form players making up the list with little to no depth in the SANFL.

The problem is he left the ground, braced for impact, made head high contact and Brayshaw played no further part in the game. The duty of care is on the tackler or player initiating the contact.
