Hi Rick I've been listening to your meditation and talks as well as taking your courses for the past three years. About a year ago when I was waking up all the time in the night I recall you said some seniors meditate during these times. So instead of watching the TV or grumbling I started listening to meditation and talks beginning at the end of your archive (page 14). This last time I decided to start with your latest meditation so I could make a comment you'd see. The single most important concept I've ever learned in my life is that "your brain can change." I'm 70 and spent all my years believing that our brains were set for life at about age 10. I was depressed most of the time and hated it because I thought I'd be like that forever. I heard your idea of brain changing so over and over in your meditations and your talks re-enforced it. I'm a Christian but the Buddhist concepts of importance and suffering make so much sense that I bought a book comparing Buddha and Christ (which I must confess I haven't read yet.) I know also that the Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu's best friend was the Deli Lama. I came to the conclusion that all the world's great religions and humanism and Warm hearted atheism are like the tent poles of a teepee - they meet at the top. I digress. I just want to end with this. I'm glad I waited till I was this age so I could discover this. It's better to have it late in life than never at all.

I forgot to add that I first realized my brain was changing when I put the online puzzles together differently. It is much slower, but I am persisting! It's fun to try new things.
