    When I flew in to Oaxaca, they gave us the FMM after landing. The airline did not have the forms. However, I was not charged. I filled out the form and gave it to the officer. He then tore it in half and gave me the part that did not indicate how many days I could stay. The 180 days, however, is stamped into my passport. I think that is the new way they do it.
    I also want to add that when I was going through customes, they flagged my checked-in luggage. My loptop was in my carry-on, but I had a desktop computer in my checked-in. Before opening the checked-in, the officer asked me how many computers I had. Ultimately, I had to pay an import fee for having an extra computer. As I remember, it cost 700 pesos, which at the extrange rate then, was abuut 43 US dollars. So, just remember you are only alllowed to bring one computer for free. Any more will cost an import fee.
    When I fly out (to Costa Rica or some other Latin American country- NOT USA) and fly back in, I am thinking about leaving my desktop and monitor, which I baught in Mexico, in a storage so I don't have to pay that fee or worry about damaging them in the checked-in luggage.
    I have one question. If I fly out and return befolre my original 180 days has expired, will I get a fresh 180 days to stay in Mexico?

    If anyone is able to get your dual citizenship, do it! That way you don’t have to pay for that foreign tourist fee that’s already added on your airfare ticket, it’s like $40-$50.

    I'm a permanent resident of Mexico and I get charged the tourist fee with my airplane ticket. To my knowledge residents do not have to pay this fee. Are you familiar with the fee and can I get reimbursed for it? I was told I can ask the airline, Volaris to reimburse but Volaris doesn't have a good record for reimbursement. Your thoughts. Thanks

      That's a great question. Unfortunately there is nothing anyone can do except contact the airlines directly and hope for the best.

      You can get an FMM Tourist visa if you are a Citizen of France. But if you were born in another country then you need to figure out what the visa situation is with your native country where you were born and have citizenship

      Not really but at some point you would need some sort of legal residency in order to facilitate things like getting a bank account or buying a car or renting a place in some cases

      The Visa is issued to you based on your country of origin. I would look online to see what kind of visa you need and how you can get it. Not all countries have easy entry into Mexico

    If you over stay the 180 days do you get an over stay stamp and a black listing?

    • @JoseArteagaTravels
      @JoseArteagaTravels  6 месяцев назад +1

      Nope. If you overstay all you have to do is go to the immigration section in the Airport and pay the fine and you will be fine. If you leave without doing that then you might get in trouble next time you come back to Mexico. Just make sure to check with them and pay the fine. The longer you overstay the more you have to pay and the more you should do this. Hope that helps answer your question
