  • This video is a tactical analysis of Trent Alexander-Arnold's switch from his regular right back slot to a hybrid holding midfielder position for Liverpool FC. He has played in this position since the game against Arsenal with a great deal of success - but is it perfect for him?

Great video. Wish England could find a role for him in the team. So much more creativity

They won't tho Southgate hasnt got the mind for tactics like klopp or pep he would trust him there so it will be always Bellingham rice Henderson or Phillips we could dominate world football if we had a pro active manager

Since nunez is good in the air to say he is good to head the ball in the net I think the right person is TAA in midfield

the system benefits salah a lot aswell, in the past hendo or trent has always been in that right mid position but now there’s space there to salah can drop and get on the ball more which is always a good thing

Why doesn't klopp just sign a full back and train trent into becoming a midfielder

Well it looks like theyre going to play 3-3-1-3.
    Trente. (Defencive mid). Macalister.
With Gakpo as the (1) infromt of them.He will carry the ball from half way line ito opposition goal and shhot from edge of box Jotta will be central strikerGakpo will all be the first lie of defence through the middle.I would like to see us get a Robertson like player who can play on the left or right of the 3man defence

You're going to laugh, but I thought there was a suggestion at the end, that Liverpool sign Wan Bisaaka 🤣

I did laugh! I know he can’t pass but he can defend so with Trent that will make two complete players 😂

I really liked this - good, reasoned analysis. Great job.
Instead of buying a right back - ai think Gomez is a great option. He can play both the right sided centre half (where Konaté plays) and he can play as a more defensive right back. The solution is already there.
I think Klopp may need to look at the left side - Robertson is an incredible, flying full back. I feel he suffers a bit in this new formation.

he suffers at the moment but I think with a defensive RB he'll have more freedom to get forward.

@Blue Football Analysis in a 4 2 3 1? Definitely. I'd love that. It would mean Tsimiskas would also still be valuable. We'd also get all our best options up front on the pitch.
Or - hear me out, I'm.not crazy - Gomez could also slot in on the left? He played a full season at left back, so if Klopp persists with the 3 2 2 3 that he's plating right now then he could do a job?

@@jpgduff I think it really suits Liverpool up front. Jota or Gakpo can play the number 10 behind Nunez in his best position up front. Maybe Gomez could invert from the LB position...?
