I'm just getting in to making beats and using synths, this video was helpful. I've got a million questions, so I'm hoping there's more content on the horizon.
My personal favorite midi controller is the Akai MPK261, I got one on reverb for $350! Also been doing the hybrid setup myself, using Ableton, the MPK, a Korg Synth, and a Roland Handsonic (for really weird beats 😂). Also use a Focusrite interface.
God I love hardware but its so expensive. I need a new mixer and PC and also want a new synth (moog subharmonicon or dreadbox type deal) And have no idea where to get the needed 2.5k from.
@@vladv5126 that was months ago. I have a day job (bought a deluge, dreadbox typhon, the mixer and a bunch of other stuff by now) but I also live alone and have bills to pay so getting together over 1000 bucks for any given (non vital) purchase is like 5-10 months of saving and no surprise expenses. Tl;Dr: Hardware is pretty expensive even if you have a (regular) job.
@@LucIndustries don't fall into the GAS trap, dude. From what you said, you already have plenty. Learn that stuff in and out and when looking for new gear, ask yourself: "What can I not do with my current setup that this new thing will let me do?" If you can't answer that very directly and concisely, you don't need it. It's very easy to get hung up on shiny toys but realistically, you just need a laptop and ableton. Everything else is just to make it easier or quicker.
Part of that is how much money you have, and part of that is what kind of music you’re going to make. I bought several pieces of equipment (including an elektron Digitakt) before settling on my MPC Live II. I sold the elektron, a Korg electribe, and a Korg volca sampler II. I make LoFi, and couldn’t be happier with the MPC. I also got a Roland SP-555 for effects. And because the 555 is class compliant I use it with the MPC as an audio interface. This setup works great for me…
How about Android or straight Linux open source products, most musician are starving artist. Happy you have made it to the .1% of artist that have the money to waste on Mac crap...
Check out Xynthesizer, Drumpads24, Caustic, Audio Evolution Work Station, Zenbeats, Bandpass. I believe Korg iKaossilator is still free. (For Android) It's fine to have a preference. Everyone starts from somewhere. Doesn't make it okay to shun someone else's way of production.
@@SEONNTHAPRODUCER , Thank you for your suggestions. I use Reaper as a DAW for both Linux and Windows. I am familiar with Caustic for Android and its seamless crossover to Windows and Linux has made Caustic a program worth using. I find as a programmer, network security and computer tech that the more proprietary the environment the more it will cost to keep up to date. In the past this has kept me from playing and producing music. Reverb has the money to produce videos, which will still generate revenue through advertisers to start catering to less expensive OS's and equipment. A bit of balance would be nice for those that are typical musicians: barely making ends meet.

Love the shirt! Also thanks for the heads up on the iPad apps. I never thought to access on of those for music production!
Fess is the man! Chicago salute
Absolutely LOVE Fess! Saw him open for Mike Eagle one time and have been hooked since.

I love this guy
I really think most people don’t grasp quite how powerful and unique the iPad is for making music
Tom Poynton I didn’t up until now. The clouds have parted.
Damn good job bro!
The ipad lowkey looking like a dope music making tool for on the go
Super helpful! I am currently running Beatmaker 3 on my ipad for affordability reasons but have been looking into hardware. Thanks for this!
BeatMaker 3 is highly recommended for iPad.
This video looks good!
Lol I went trough all these phases.
Trying out an OP-Z now as a mobile solution because the live is way to big to be carrying around.
I thought the 5th way would be MPC 3000
Hybrid setups are really cool.
Cool video my friend
Man those rings make this video more legit 😂
What about a looper pedal and putting a STRYMON Bluesky and STRYMON Mobius into the feedback loop should give a nice effect.
Thank you!

I promise I don't mean this in a condescending way but, why not get a day job?

GarageBand?
No?
Ok...
Is it not on iPad?
I bought the MPC live like 2-3 years ago and now it reminds me more and more of an ipad with attached pads ...
Impc pro 2 is trash. You can’t choose what section to sample from Spotify
So basically iPad works with everything

@@lopiid This is a video from a gear resale site, If you want a video on free shit then look for a different video. Hater.
Personally, I hate all this "making BEATS" shit! Why can't we encourage the younger generation to actually learn how to PLAY an actual INSTRUMENT!?
It's just something different no need to hate on it
🤦♂️ a sampler/sequencer IS an Insturment
