He uses gifts to apologize and no sincere meaning. It's to free his conscience not love a friend. The gifts are his way of getting off the hook for what he then justifies as his way of balancing and releasing of any real gain of taking any responsibility or working on the relationship further. He then writes it off. He requires help not support to continue in bad behavior. If you were friends you would be more like Scheana, who tells him the truth. You only feed the most cruel aspect of his use and no true care for him to be a better person. Says a lot about you too. Terrible show.

Maybe who cares cuz Tom lives there so that’s why they were delivered there. Ariana moved on pretty quickly so Tom should be able to live his life.
