Crazy to think that sarl could be on fire. Been skunked there almost every time I’ve been there. One time I caught a one pound bass on a drop shot going for trout, and one time my daughter caught a similar bass reeling in her line with power bait. Thee are so many birds, they chase and eat all the fish. Also I don’t think they stock as much or as often as they say they do.
Sarl can be a tough lake to fish, once you figure it out it can be one of the best. They do publish there stocking videos so I don’t think there is anything shady going on. Just my opinion. Good luck if you go again!👍
@@TroutvetCustomBaits I know they have videos but there is no way to validate them since they close for the day. Not saying that’s what they do but it’s a possibility. What’s the cost for them to stock, plus rent and utilities, employees and maintenance. Then add in inflation and it seems very probable that they would lie a bit. Who knows.
Was that the first stockin this year? Also what time did you go in the morning to get in line i want to be like the first couple cars to go fish the road
You’ll have to get there the night before and camp. There is a big group of guys that are retired or unemployed that camp out to get one of the few spots that actually produce.
Hi, I was using my custom 2 1/4" split tail minnows and spoon lures. In the early morning the double drop shot setup with 2 1/4" minnows Peach and Chartreuse color was working well and also black with red and white flake. The fish are in close early morning. As the weather starts to warm I start throwing spoons to get out a little farther if the fish don't seem to be in close.
