Quick, concise, and simple to understand. Almost unheard of in the "you tube university" universe. Thank you Broan for this easy to understand informative video.
Thank you for your question on the AE110SL model. Yes, you can cap the Brown wire which is your sensor if you don't want to use it. The Black wire is your light. The Gray wire is your manual fan operation. Just connecting the Gray and Black wires will allow you to use a two-function switch and have independent operation of these functions.
Can this fan be wired to an existing timer switch with multiple preset time buttons? I would assume that the fan would turn on at the appropriate humidity level and turn off at the time dictated by the fan's preset off time or the switch preset time , whichever came first.
The AE110SL would need to be wired to 3 separate switches. The fan feature could be wired to a timer as long as the humidity sensing is wired to a on/off switch. We recommend contacting our Product Support Team at 800-637-1453 with any additional questions.
I want the light and humidity control but I only have one switch. can I cap the gray and connect the black and brown to the switch? …I realize the fan will turn off when the switch is turned off. Willing to live with that. Thanks!
Thank you for your question. This unit can be wired to a single switch. The wiring diagram is on page 4 of the installation manual. Hi, if I have no light on my 100H and want to use 2-function switch, will that work where I can put the fan ON/OFF or leave on Humidity sensing mode? Thanks (great video BTW)
Thank you for your question on the AE110SL model. You can wire the unit so the light is on one switch and the humidity sensor on the other. You would then be able to toggle the fan switch ON/OFF/ON to manually operate the fan. The switch would normally stay in the ON position for the humidity sensor to be active. We would recommend giving our Product Support team a call with your model at 800-637-1453 for additional wiring help. We are not able to identify the number 100H, so we would want to discuss it with you further to be sure we are providing the correct information.

I have a bath can I want to replace with 3 switches for fan, light, heater. 2 wires in the attic. Will this work for this fan, will one wire work the fan and one the light? And with 2 wires can you have the humidity sensor always on but also run the fan if you want

Humidity is set to max 80% but fan has not turned off in auto mode since installation. (1 week) The outdoor humidity has been high 70 - 90 since install with today the lowest at 70%. Are humidity controls replacable if in fact this unit won't turn off on auto when things dry up?

Thanks for posting a response. The # you provided does not work from my area however- Just noticed that even though the fan runs constantly when the auto circuit is turned on, the fan will start automatically when the auto circuit is off and the timer circuit is left in the on position, while the shower is in use. When the fan is initiated in this way it also shuts off as expected when the timer set time expires. Am I misunderstanding the way these controls are supposed to work?
@@ronthomlinson9345 We would need additional information on the switches you have installed. From your description, it seems like you may have the sensor hardwired, which would explain why the fan runs during a shower with the switch off. It sounds like the switch you may be thinking is for the auto, may actually be the manual fan. This might explain why it never turns off. If you are in the US, 800-637-1453 should work for you. However, we do have 800-567-3855 for our Canadian consumers.
@@BroanNuToneLLC😮 Embarrassing - I misunderstood the controls. Did not know there was a "manual on". I assumed one circuit was manual on with timed off and the other switch was for the auto humidity control. Ooops Thanks for your explanation.
Thank you for your question on model AE110SL. You can use the black wire for the light on one switch, and the brown wire for the humidity sensing fan on the second switch, and capping the gray wire. You will then be able to toggle the fan switch (on/off/on) for manual fan operation.

What if I have 2 independent switches? I currently wired it to have the light and fan come on with the first switch and the fan with humidity control to come on with the other. I don't want the fan to come on with the light. What did I do wrong?
