Lets face it. These kinda knives are made for legally restrictive markets. They offer nothing over good one hand opeining locking designs, when those are an option.
The paradox is, in Sweden EVERY sharp thing will be taken away from you if the police sees you, legal or not. But the knife in question is a piece of art in my eyes 👍👍
Unless you just prefer a slip joint. I have all sorts of tactical frame locks and a few shark locks and mid-back locks in my collection. I prefer to edc a slip joint most of the time.
It's a cool knife but I think I'm getting a small leather pouch for it, maybe one of those nice MKM magnetic ones or another small pocket one with a slim ulticlip or something like that.
Yes! I did that exactly - the clip seems like a cool design but it's not that useful - but the rest of the knife is really nice.
I have one of the titanium models. Never had any issue with it in my pocket. I also recommend the titanium over aluminum due to the backspacer longevity you'll experience with titanium vs aluminum.
Thanks for the look. Seems like a nice piece, but that pocket clip may just relegate it to gentlemans carry only!
Gotta check out the lion steel M5. Solid steel and thin behind the edge with a stout point. It’s a solid belt knife!
M3, M4 and M5 are the best fixes of the brand
Many folders with cool design
Prices are high for my budget
Nice knife, but not for my lifestyle.
Have one too in green. Love it. But I don’t use pocket clips. Usually remove them. With this one I don’t need to.
I have one and love it. However, mine has fallen out of my pocket a couple of times. Wound up carrying in the pocket like an Old Timer.
I have a Lionsteel ROK with the same style pocket clip. I have not lost it or dropped it, but I do think the spring needs more tention.
I have had mine for a long time , same color and never had a problem with it being loose in pocket. Stays put, if the tension was heavier it would be hard to get in your pocket
G'day Aaron, an innovative idea alright. I thought it was gonna be a two position clip, like locked in or out and still relying on the tension of the clip itself rather than a spring, maybe that's a better way to go.
As its stands, its more of a office bag/pack, maybe a top pocket design IMO.
In any case, still very interesting, thanks for showing it mate. Cheers Duke.
For that price, I don't need any issues. Not for me. Thanks for the video. GOD BLESS
Definitely need to sign up Mrs GT as a model :) as for the knife I'm in the UK so it offers a decent option for us
Lionsteels are nice but they do tend to be pricey. Looks like a nice gentleman's folder with premium steel. I'd let it just ride in my pocket tbh, as thin and smoothed-off as it is. Not my cup of tea but $120 isn't crazy for this level of knife, between the blade steel, integral handle, and fit and finish.
My issue with them is the poor heat treats. From everything I've seen they do a terrible job with the m390. For the price I can't warrant it
@@janjimpson240 Hadn't heard that but a bad heat treat is pretty much fatal IMHO. I've got an outdoor fixed-blade that would be a worthwhile budget knife if the steel would take a decent edge even for a short while, but it's a write-off. Might as well use it to plant scallions. Waste of money. One more reason to buy from a producer with a good reputation.
It does look like a cool knife, but I have dropped a few knives which caused awkward and embarrassing situations in significant events. I think I will pass on this one due to the clip. Thanks Aaron for another cool video.
Thanks for watching 😀👍
I own this knife. It's a looker, but also a versatile and capable blade. You give a fair assessment of the clip. It is not as secure as a standard clip would be, but this knife would not look as good as it does without the retractable clip. It's a trade off. It's not my EDC; it is a gentleman's knife that comes out on more formal occasions, and I like it for that purpose.
Hi! Are you happy with that trailer? Thanks!
Yes, we like the layout and have had minimal issues.
I bought 3 of them as gifts. Everyone had issues with the pocket clip. So I bought each of them the leather pocket slip with the magnet loop from MkM. Problem solved.
I love the overall aesthetics of the knife (shape of blade and blade/grip balance), but since I'm more tactically focused the lack of pragmatism in the clip has been a deterrent for me.
Great review though!
Sog pillar endurance test
I like LionSteel, but that clip, to me, is an almost nonfunctional gimmick. To be honest, this one, despite its other great features, goes into the crap column. I like the one piece machining and the color, but the clip ruins the knife unless they figure out a better way to press it open. That thing would spend more time bouncing off the concrete sidewalk than in my hand.
The clip really is no problem for me
@@lukasmarten6660 My fingers are too fat. I'd be dropping it all the time. I carry a Cold Steel 4Max Scout because it fits my hand.
The clip tension is the reason why I have sold my red one. In other aspects - awesome knife. Perfect review as always!
It's pretty when it's open but looks awkward and dangerous to open
I have that exact model as well and I agree - I got a leather sheath with a normal clip on it I use to carry it. I'm also going to lightly file the corners on the "locking" part of the blade to make it a little easier to open and close one-handed.
Great videos, but Gideon always has the sandpaper mouth😖
Is there a defect in that blade, a rust spot or dirt?
Just some grime from use
You've been pumping out the vids man! Great content.
Hope you,and the family are having fun, and staying safe out there on the road.
Thank you so much, we are having a blast!
Slip joints are for people who hate their fingers
You were in my hometown for this video.
2 min. In and were not to the knife yet..... regardless whats in this video, knife is fantastic
Lost me at slip joint.
I enjoy mine. But you are correct, the pocket clip should be stronger.
Did you say $120 bucks??? I understand flair but I can't justify price for one blade.. I found out that SAK never offended anyone, not even swine dog pigs(cops) that stole my Buck Vantage out of pure jealousy as I am supremely dangerous person 😂..Nice knife but not for me,,Thanks for review...
With the pocket clip that seems like a pain and the fact that it doesn't lock, I'd give it a No. Then, i heard how much you paid for it and I changed it to a Hell No. Lol. Good review though.
The pocked clip really is no problem for me
I just got the Ti version, incredible knife for me.
👍👍
👍👍
Did you cook the turkey on the camp fire
🇨🇵 super couteau j'adore 🦁 steel je possède le m4 et le m5
Try the Lionsteel Myto Ti ;)
looks kind of like the bugout
How hard would it be to find and fit a stronger spring?
A significantly stronger spring in the right size (tiny) might not be that easy to find.
+This clip is a lever : stronger spring makes it much more force at the button for only slightly more grip at the tip.
@@willisoften Yeah, its a bit disappointing... It looks like a cool idea on paper, but the clip has almost no grip on your pocket, so every time I get in the car or lay down on the couch, the knife falls out of my pocket...
Thanks for the vid. Great shots, I got a much better idea of its size due to the close ups.
Great videos, but Gideon always has the sandpaper mouth, like he's chewing on sawdust.

Looks like a bad copy of my Benchmade Bugout, I digress.
I have the blue titanium variant and it's one of my favorites in my collection. I wanted another and bought the red aluminum and the weight difference makes the aluminum feel cheap. It's still a great knife.
