The Concept of the „Toolbox“ is really incredible and has been my self improvement strategy for about a year now. The worst thing to do is to get yourself comfortable in your „own stereotype“, e.g. „I am an INTJ, so I am Bad at SE“ and just externalize your weaknesses for that reason. Being Bad at SE is a fact but never an excuse. I obsess over this, because being Ni-dominant but also being able to state things in a concrete way (Not only abstract concepts and thoughts, which was my weakness) like SE can, is a very powerful combination. For me, it worked out really well in my work environment as I could persuade a wider Range of people with this. But also in The private context or anywehere else where socializing is needed, developing SE is very useful in regards to doing smalltalk, which will be always a necessity in my life (Fake it til you make it, as you stated, Lindsay). I finally realized that one reason people tell me boring ass stories (to me) that I don't even care about but might be mildly relevant somehow to the situation we are in, is that they are just trying to connect and don't know what I may or may not find interesting. So if I like them, it's optimal to treat it as a connection-oriented social experience, rather than a story with an end of its own (which it has none and therefore sucks and is boring.)

Good video. I think the INTJ can be blindsighted by people they've come to trust giving rogue info and when they feel they should have anticipated it. On the flip, I gather an INFJ is blindsighted by a situational change in a process which could have been foreseen too.
Really good advice to strengthen our weak functions by .... "studying people who do those functions well" ie in their top 2 slots. Mimic those usage behaviors until it feels more natural.
_*Reports for duty in the comments after getting excited for new vid_ I got really hopeful when you started telling info about the functions, but then it all got pretty vague. I don't mind vagueness 🙂. One thing though, I honestly never believed people could actually have problems with physical things until I saw the consistency with which you struggle here. Wow. You go girl! 😎🤯
@@InternetLiJo I never thought the OP thing was real, I constantly thought about the concept in my mind _(as soon as I woke up)_ but when I compared that concept to the reality that I experienced later in the day (spying other people), it didn't match, and I thought It was a fanclub or smth, but it's looking a little real. I need to think more about it haha. Keep uploading your vids, I get new information everytime (even if it's vague 😉)

@@rareaqqle wow, I actually do that and I really enjoy it..!! I used to work in her position and I know how to get some tasks done in a short amount of time. Back then I received critisism for the way I did stuff, so that fits as well :) thanks!
Fi + Ne is good at figuring out people's motives. For example, someone compliments you that they are really happy with your performance, but you feel they just said that to be polite or out of pity, because you didn't think it went that well. But they might have meant it. You could use Te to check if your feeling is correct. Look at their behavior like a detective: is this a person who always gives compliments out of politeness, or only when that is justified? Is there another possible reason why this person said they were happy? Could something else have coloured their opinion of your performance? Maybe did you judge your performance too harshly, because you were in a bad mood?
@@floranova7565 oh yeah that's true, I almost always ask for the negative feedback rather than asking for what they like because their response is more authentic and don't take their criticism personal when I use Te. If I do get offended, which is unlikely, I know I'm using Fi.
For me my greatest weaknesses also drain my energy to the point of needing a nap. Being extroverted really takes a lot of energy. when I was young it was easier to be extroverted by drinking. So that doesn't serve me any purpose. I don't do self destructive behavior just for the sake of fitting in. I don't fit in so I have just become ok with it. Feelings are also one of my biggest weaknesses. I try really hard to express them but it also drains me to exhaustion. When I am upset about something it is also like taking sleeping pills. I have to rest and recharge.
@@InternetLiJo no but I thought I would mention it as a pitfall to watch out for. I would also say drug use as well but I think everyone knows not to do drugs. Well i guess if that were true there wouldn't be any drug problems. But when I was younger I hadn't come to terms with myself. I really just wanted someone to like me. The only people that did where the outcasts or outlaws however you want to look at it. There was nothing there but trouble. I got older and realized that the problem wasn't with the other people it was with me. I needed to change my perspective. I found out I was a pretty good person and didn't need approval from anyone else. But for getting along with co workers I had to learn how to deal with them. It wasn't they needed to deal with me.
Very good explanation! I've practiced Fe and Se because those trip me up the most; I haven't really sought people out to observe, they kind of arrived on their own, but I guess noticing their functions is already a Se thing; I want to believe I suck a bit less at it nowadays 🙃
Lol at the skin noodles joke, I can imagine the responses of people that I'm acquaintance with just being like, what??haha Thank you for the vid Lijo :D
This has been an interesting one, as it's quite a lesson in chameleonism. It's odd because the behaviors you describe are basically theatre to comfort the other person. If event X then action block Xa, probable response is positive (X+Xa=1). The tough part is keeping the present face when the cause of the other person's distress is something that we find completely stupid. And sometimes the lesson is "DO NOT DO THIS.". :)
Im an Infp and u just describe my very first strategy in life ever since i was a child. Back in school days, i didnt want to belive everybody else was stuped, boring, and less then me( becous it unmoral belive), even when it felt like that, so i tried very hard and in a very actiely way to brick out of these point of view... my goul was to make a trip to others people mind, field, point of view territory, to got some new external expirence and infotmation outside of me, and get to the point i realy convinced other people are equal and have a value. From pure analitical point of view, To assume u alredy know everything and smarter then anyone is irrational, and can be contradictory by looking on how your one mind few years ago , u can see how thing thas looks like a logical axiom turend out to be wong, the big picture has been changed... and it can allways be chang complitely by adding more information. It interesting to ixxp to see were the graph of that convergent equation is going....
Ever look back and see what kind of eye movements you use? I'm sure you're an INTJ, though a fair bit here you seem to use Ne. In some of my videos, I notice I used Si a fair bit while trying to remember everything I intended to say. It's probably just that certain situations require the usage of nonpreferred functions.
I don’t study the eye movement stuff much. I have lived with someone on the Ne-Si axis for over 10 years though so I’m sure that does something. Also sometimes I’m trying to avoid the lights in my room with my eyes so they don’t reflect on my glasses.
Hi LJ, Your first sentence after the intro is so valuable. Because that´s what typology is. A tool for growth and understanding of observable patterns in human personality. I would like to know the following: - Have you done research on the big 5 personality traits? => if so what is your viewpoint on them and my following statement? I have observed that the big 5 are more well defined and closer to the core dimensions of human psychology. The 16 or 512 types of mbti/objective personality are a specific [but open to a certain deviation for each dimension] combination of these 5 traits. The 8 cognitive functions are also a combination of these 5 traits and their distribution along the measurable scale of deviation. But still we can work quite well with the patterns behind this combination of traits in form of the functions because they are the most common combinations and work to a satisfying degree.
The way the test is structured, big 5 has much more negative or positive connotations. Here's a desirable quality, you either have it more or less. Myers Briggs places characteristics as a dichotomy opposed to each other...if you don't have these quality, then you have these others instead. Looking at the moderate correlation between the 2 systems, an ENFJ would be the perfect person in our society according to the Big 5, because they have these desirable qualities. But Big 5 leaves out so many opposing qualities.
I'm really not sure if personality (and capability theory) is solid enough to really describe "choosing a personality type" as that muhc more of a game than finding one with test - particularly if you are summoning the concept of "jumper" to walk outside the theory...
Hey LiJo! When you said Global Conciousness, I got curious to know what you think about McLuhan's Global Village and other comm ideas. Are you a communications student too?
I usually do a pep talk to myself in doing any Fe or Se! I have to constantly weigh the consequences or benefits of doing them based on my Fi. Doing my Se or Fe blindspots was, is, and will always be a work-on-progress! (Well, living Life is always a work-in-progress.)
I can relate to the "toolbox metaphor" so deep, and turning on my "sandbox mode" is my daily approach, i'd say for now the Fe(i seldom take my Fi serious daily) tool consume the least cpu in my "sandbox", but im still easily overwhelmed by too much stimulation from outside world(still cant fake being natural at Se), im gonna work on it
Where do you go if you want to be typed by professionals using the 512 scale? I know online tests aren’t the most accurate, but I’ve always gotten INTJ on them and as I’m learning deeper about this type I am interested to be typed accurately by professionals.
would be interesting to know how dominant function act/execute differently in conjunction with other functions, Ni doms for example how it works differently for INFJ vs INTJ. not sure if anyone has covered this already xD
What books would you recommend to learn about this stuff for an INTJ with dyslexia? Used this site applymagicsauce.com/demo to find my type. Somebody who suffered a lot of harsh criticism in school and never really had good guidance or direction in life. I'm currently reading Ray Dalio's principles but a lot of it goes over my head. I read Carol Dweck's growth mindset and that really got me focused on improving myself and my situation. Planning on reading the road to character and the power of habit. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Why do you think we are not capable of it? Can’t we develop both intuition functions? For example, cause I think we can do it with every other function. How are you sure you don't use these functions? People always used to say, that something couldn't be done and look...
I have certain spots I always put my keys so I don’t lose them in the first place. If I didn’t have these systems in place I would waste so much time trying to find them because Im less aware of the physical world around me.
@@InternetLiJo Exactly. I know my patterns so I'll look in places I always put them first. This goes into my theory on how you say we simulate functions we don't have. In the case of losing them(not being in my normal spots). In some cases I've found the method of retracing my steps through memory more helpful than thinking of where they might be. I'm curious if it's possible to simulate a different organizing function.
This is a very Ni trait. Fe does it too but I notice only in the moment to harmonize with someone. They call INFJs chameleons, but they dont even suspect us that's how well INTJs do it.
@@InternetLiJo I did! The concept is simultenously mind boggling, amazing and scary.. For some reason I want it to be cute, but it keeps getting internalized as Tim Burton-esque. :P
I don't understand this topic. If everyone has blind spots then why should I consider these weaknesses that need to be worked on and improved? Don't we already have the ability to communicate with everyone? Do I really need to know the root cause of everyone's point of view, especially if these people are all wrapped up in their feelings? Isn't that obvious? Do I really need to be able to communicate with emotional people on an emotional level? I wouldn't do that. It's too exhausting and I just don't see the benefits. But I admit I need to study this personality typology stuff a lot more beyond the basic level. Thanks.
I think INTJ's always want to improve everything, so that's why. Also, wr have a whole life to spend on this planet so why not improve ourselves? I thinl it's valuable.
Nope still too bright to watch comfortably.... Aspergers and the INTJ personality seem to go hand in hand.. Many Aspies find bright light quite over whelming... Good luck with your channel.

_*Reports for duty in the comments after getting excited for new vid_
I got really hopeful when you started telling info about the functions, but then it all got pretty vague. I don't mind vagueness 🙂. One thing though, I honestly never believed people could actually have problems with physical things until I saw the consistency with which you struggle here. Wow. You go girl! 😎🤯
Hahah the real world is so strange Valerie 😂 I try
@@InternetLiJo I never thought the OP thing was real, I constantly thought about the concept in my mind _(as soon as I woke up)_ but when I compared that concept to the reality that I experienced later in the day (spying other people), it didn't match, and I thought It was a fanclub or smth, but it's looking a little real. I need to think more about it haha. Keep uploading your vids, I get new information everytime (even if it's vague 😉)
Love how you added outro music to the video! 👍🏼
Thank you!
If "Te" situation occurs, then I should [applied tool] to equal a desired outcome.
The example you gave for Fi was very interesting. How could an INFP Te more, when needed..? Could you give me an example?
Determine what would work for everyone by taking criticism from the tribe, good or bad, and track where the majority resides in more
Example: helping one of your employees become better at their job or help them learn certain techniques and stuff... something like that
@@rareaqqle wow, I actually do that and I really enjoy it..!!
Your information is great, got my answers, subscribed.
Awesome! Welcome 👽
Oh gosh yes feelings are exhausting. Drinking never really helped me extrovert or provide me any real value at all.
Haha same I Hope I suck slightly less
I apply all those in my life already glad to know others do it love the hairstyle ❤️
Yay!
Lol at the skin noodles joke, I can imagine the responses of people that I'm acquaintance with just being like, what??haha
Thank you for the vid Lijo :D
Thanks for laughing at my joke Joseph haha
Hi LJ,
Your first sentence after the intro is so valuable. Because that´s what typology is. A tool for growth and understanding of observable patterns in human personality.
I would like to know the following:
- Have you done research on the big 5 personality traits?
She's pretty ... and so smart
Oh Marc!
I'm really not sure if personality (and capability theory) is solid enough to really describe "choosing a personality type" as that muhc more of a game than finding one with test - particularly if you are summoning the concept of "jumper" to walk outside the theory...
Is there a tool for dealing with people who naturally live out their joke-y element? It is like visiting the mad hatter
Haha are you talking about ENFPs?
I'd love to follow you on instagram! you have some really great content coming from an intj
Hey I don’t really use insta anymore 😬but I’m @wonderbubblez
Being a work in progress is the only way I wish to be :)
I can relate to the "toolbox metaphor" so deep, and turning on my "sandbox mode" is my daily approach, i'd say for now the Fe(i seldom take my Fi serious daily) tool consume the least cpu in my "sandbox", but im still easily overwhelmed by too much stimulation from outside world(still cant fake being natural at Se), im gonna work on it
Yes the toolbox is real!
Ok Lijo thank you so much
Where do you go if you want to be typed by professionals using the 512 scale? I know online tests aren’t the most accurate, but I’ve always gotten INTJ on them and as I’m learning deeper about this type I am interested to be typed accurately by professionals.
Amen, sister, been think9ng about this
Yeeee :)
would be interesting to know how dominant function act/execute differently in conjunction with other functions, Ni doms for example how it works differently for INFJ vs INTJ. not sure if anyone has covered this already xD
That's a great subject. I would really want to have an INFJ on to articulate that most accurately, but I love that idea.
Lol skin noodles...sounds like enfp lingo
Lmao my husband has influenced my language
What books would you recommend to learn about this stuff for an INTJ with dyslexia? Used this site applymagicsauce.com/demo to find my type. Somebody who suffered a lot of harsh criticism in school and never really had good guidance or direction in life. I'm currently reading Ray Dalio's principles but a lot of it goes over my head. I read Carol Dweck's growth mindset and that really got me focused on improving myself and my situation. Planning on reading the road to character and the power of habit. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I would recommend audio books :) and for books I recommend anything by Brene Brown
Unless it's auditory dyslexia, in which case the Davis Dyslexia program is worth every penny.
Your background/lighting look good in this video.
Thank you!
Why do you think we are not capable of it? Can’t we develop both intuition functions? For example, cause I think we can do it with every other function. How are you sure you don't use these functions? People always used to say, that something couldn't be done and look...
Everyone can do everything :) but not everyone can do everything very well.
Let's say you lost your keys, what method would you use to find them?
I have certain spots I always put my keys so I don’t lose them in the first place. If I didn’t have these systems in place I would waste so much time trying to find them because Im less aware of the physical world around me.
@@InternetLiJo Exactly. I know my patterns so I'll look in places I always put them first. This goes into my theory on how you say we simulate functions we don't have. In the case of losing them(not being in my normal spots). In some cases I've found the method of retracing my steps through memory more helpful than thinking of where they might be. I'm curious if it's possible to simulate a different organizing function.
Why am I torn on Gary Vee?
He's kinda obnoxious.
He's so extra. Take him in small doses and realize you are coming for specific information, not just to take in everything he has to offer haha
@@InternetLiJo You treat motivational speakers how Tai Lopez treats books? :O
INTJ truly are fascinating creatures. :P
Oh so you're a soul harvester too? I mean... you cherry pick aspects of other people's personality for yourself, too?
This is a very Ni trait. Fe does it too but I notice only in the moment to harmonize with someone. They call INFJs chameleons, but they dont even suspect us that's how well INTJs do it.
Lol they can keep their souls but I steal their tools 🙃 yes we are very sneaky.
@@InternetLiJo as an intj i think i can just mimic others traits

Lmao you made it to the end!
Thanks.
Patrick Mooney 😂 way to live up to the stereotype....
I think INTJ's always want to improve everything, so that's why. Also, wr have a whole life to spend on this planet so why not improve ourselves? I thinl it's valuable.
If you can get what you want more efficiently isn't it worth it?
Dat thumbnail
ENTPs seem very unreliable-ENTP
#greedy :)
Yeeee lol
Nope still too bright to watch comfortably.... Aspergers and the INTJ personality seem to go hand in hand.. Many Aspies find bright light quite over whelming... Good luck with your channel.
Can you turn down the brightness of your screen?
let me watch your blindspot! if u marry me ill become your most useful chess piece! and I can take care of all the whimsical "fun" stuff as an enfp
