As a recent graduate from the US ive gotta say the stuff in the video is DEFINITELY private school foods, my school gave us dry hamburgers with cold buns or cold macaroni
Right!? Dry ass hamburgers or that shitty, gummy, square frozen pizza.

that goes for most countries in this video, like it is not realistic that these schools are serving these kids this quality of food.
As a Nigerian, I can proudly say that that food was capp. My school never once served that 😂😂

AS AN INDIAN OUR LUNCH DEPENDS ON THE MOOD OF OUR MUM 😶

It was basically paratha but there was no aachar so this is very inaccurate

Yeah that yogurt is fucking delicious idc what anyone says 😂
As an Australian student there really isn't a specific set of food we eat for lunch over here we are allowed to pack and bring pretty much anything to school for lunch or we can grab some hot fast food from the tuckshop which is optional.
Literally the same in the uk but all of the food they showed was never even an option, different days meant different options but most people just ate cakes or just got a hot chocolate
@@charlottepollard-prior9482 Like since when were biscuits ever considered healthy enough?
I heard you can only bring unhealthy stuff in, you can't order it from the canteen??
Usually you would just bring a sandwich
As an American I can say that I would never in my life would get served something like that at school unless I went to some private school
@Cameron Hawthorn what y'all get desert and corn dogs!?
Join the resistance. They might offer you something better.
Yall got desert!? Lunch was just a grilled cheese, some terrible tomato soup, a milk, and a small juice of a fruit you've never had before.

Exactly lol here in mumbai, my school canteen had vada pav and samosa pav on regular days. During PTI meetings they also kept sev puri, sabudana wada, chole paratha, etc in the menu.
Edit: I just mean to highlight that the video isn't even remotely accurate.
@@ShubhThakkar yeah, my school also had Poha and Sheera am also from Mumbai
The “plywood” is crisp bread, has the taste of bread but in the texture of a biscuit. Very popular in Nordic countries and often served in school lunches instead of regular bread
We have them in the UK too, the sidemen are just used to being cooked for and being served posh food. It's pretty evident by the fact that none of them seem to be able to cook

As an Aussie, I'd like to clarify that sausage rolls are supposed to have flaky and crisp pastry, and the sausage is almost a ground-up type thing. What was shown in the video is what I would call a puff dog.
And we would pair that with a chocolate breaka and a shit Ton of sauce
@@ethanthompson6751 Funny. I had exactly that for lunch today LMAO
exactly
i had a vegemite sandwich every day
yes and you'd only have a sausage roll or meat pie for lunch if you want to the canteen or got a lunch order, other wise you'd just have a sandwich and some snacks like chips and fruit
As a Pakistani, I never once saw someone bring Alu Gosht for Lunch. Kids would bring a fried snack or the nostalgic Maggi in a lunch box 😂😂
Yes 😆
Allow it fam. Pakistan is never brought up. Stop exposing. LOL 😂

In australia we just go to the canteen and buy what we want to eat (my schools got burgers, fish and chips, brownies, salad, kebab etc.) we don't get timtams lmaoo
very true idk what tf this vid was on
When josh said “tim tims” instead of tim tams🤣🤣💀
The Tim tams would just melt especially in summer 😂
fr they melt...
I wish the sausage rolls I got from school looked that good and damn I wish I got Tim Tams as well 🤣
as a student in trinidad that box lunch they have for Trinidad is no where near the truth. We usually get rice and curry or stew chicken, we do get roti ,as in the meal shown, but with channa, curry mango, pumpkin. The best one is the one with macaroni pie and rice with lentils or some kind of legumes. We ain't getting ox tail especially because the boxes are shit so they use rice or pasta to hold the sauce so the box stays in tact. It is still amazing though.
As an indian student every student brings variety of food from all around the globe😂
Yeah exactly and I wouldn't say we ever just eat only naan and raita
yes , But not the one which is shown in video. That naan and raita looks like the sadest food one can eat.
Ya mate and you never eat your own food you combine a multilevel meal from everywhere

As a Trini, I can confirm that we don't get oxtail in box lunch.
Lmfao exactly
In Australia we bring our lunch from home, so u take whatever u want, or u could get a chucky steak pie, chips, ice cream, drinks and all that from the tuckshop/caffateria
I come from Norway, and that’s no way near what ppl have some lunch, like we don’ have mustard on bread, we don’t have mustard and cheese. The thing we have mustard and some kethup is on hotdogs. in high school we have a cafeterie with a slice of cake and burritos at fridays and pizza burger bagutte and drinks any other day
That U.S lunch that was provided usually turn out grillcheese hard as a rock and cold tomatoe soup is cold as well and the milk comes in a carton and you are not always sure that it is not expired or frozen. Also since when was brownies an option in my 12 years of school they never served desserts
6:40 My boi's out here getting possessed by a demon
6:46 JJ having a nap😂
I say the best is Singapore. We have variety and they all taste good. Our cafeteria/ canteen is more like a food cart. Usually there is atleast 5 different stalls selling different types of food
Such as drinks, western food, Chinese mix food, snacks, noodles. They are really delicious and cheap. You get to pick what you want to buy, pay for what you want to eat. Food prices starts from 10 cents for like a dumpling to $2.30 for a plate of food.
We also produce not too much food waste since most eat it unlike the US. On average my old school made 20kg of food waste is produce in a month but all of it is turn into fertilizer for our garden
"best school lunches!" -food brought from home- leftovers from home- Nice school lunches!
as an australian it really depends on the school and the canteen
I imagine most Australian kids got their lunch from the canteen if they didn’t bring their own from home. I doubt many Australian schools cooked meals for lunch, unless it was like a sausage sizzle or something like that 😆
As an Australian who went to school in the 90s/00s you either get what your mum gives you or you get $5 together and buy a pie, choc milk and some sweets. We also didn’t take Tim Tams to school 😂
Ye that shit would melt if u took em to school
As a student from Hong Kong I can say that that is not what we eat for lunch. Sometimes it's decent and sometimes it's bad (and expensive too). Once the canteen at my school was putting ramen on the menu and it turned out to be spaghetti soaked in soup
For australia i was lowkey thinking of the classic... Vegimite and cheese sandwich, bbq shapes, tiny teddies and 2 dollars for a paddle pop from the canteen
aussies know sausage rolls for lunch is more of a luxury when little because instead you're sent with vegemite sandwiches. you'll have like a pack a small pack of chips or a mini muffin, some apple slices or grapes for crunch and sip, a juice box, it very much varies on the shopping that previous weekend.
The food about Finland is cap because I live in Finland and the food I eat here at school is 100x better than in the video.
As a Pakistani, I can say this the stew "Aloo Gosht" is absolutely delicious! The sidemen need to try biryani tho , that is a banger
Which schools in Pakistan provide Aloo Gosht w/naan and mango lassi? I'm pretty sure it's extremely limited
@@obaidrj most kids just bring a tiffin tbh. However, some schools do offer it, I've seen local schools in my Peshawar Area where kids are provided Pulao from the local rice shop and sometimes they have soup in the winters. As an Italian, they send us home to eat lunch
The food really depends on if it is public, catholic, charter and so on also region, what the region is like because some in america are good while others are bad . I used to bring outside food because school food made me sick, not to mention free or not depends on how much your parent or guardian makes.
If you actually get that school lunch in America you’re a lucky bastard
The thing with Indian dishes is that whities don't know anything about Indian food that Indians actually eat. Lamb Rogan Josh and things like that are exclusively stuff you'd get at a restaurant or like on a special occasion. No Indian kid goes to school and gets Naan and Butter Chicken, Biryani, etc. What's more likely is some variation of a Roti/Chapati and Dal. Or something similar to the Pakistani dish they showed here. What Ethan was suggesting would be like if someone from India saw this vid and wondered why the American kids weren't getting served Steaks.
India's midday meal program actually serves students way more than what's mentioned here in this video. They are given a plate full of rice, a mixed veg stew we call "Sambar", a well minsed vegetable side, along with an indian flat cracker called "pappad". Northern India serves classic soft naan, with a mushroom or panneer korma, along with vegetables. Never underestimate India's diverse traditional food. We have the most healthiest foods in the world, including the one that's recognised by the World Health Organization, that we call "Idli" in south India.
