The helicopter pilot in the end says in Finnish "Lähetätkö helikopterin?" which in English is "Will you send a helicopter?" meaning they did see them😁😁
This movie was so scary when it was released. How fast the infection takes over is what freaked me out. In most movies like this it's a few hours or even days for someone to fully change. Here, it's mere seconds. You have about ten seconds to put down your mom or spouse or child or best friend. That is a horrendous scenario to imagine.
The beginning of this movie, when Cillian is wandering around an empty london, reminds me so much of when we first went in to lockdown in 2020. There were photos taken of the CBD in the middle of the day and there was just.... nothing.
One of the most underrated horror films. Only the real ones remember watching this on VHS. FYI, Cillian bone structure has destroyed me since I was a little boy.
In the original film, Jim does not survive, but I believe it was after test audiences reactions that they added those last couple scenes with him surviving
Never knew that... I for one am glad for the change.....unlike the American version of the movie "Decent" where they change and killed the ending IMO when it was brought to the states.
Yes on the DVD/Blu-ray on the deleted scenes/alternative ending they have a scene were he actually dies at the hospital and the 2 girls just walk off into the unknown.
Always felt like Jim earned his good ending, in fact it felt like more of a rug-pull than anything. It sucked to see him try his best to survive and overcome his dismissal odds just for him to not even see Hannah or Selena get to safety. Hard to exactly verbalize the reasoning without droning on and on
Interesting fact (via Wikipedia): “The September 11th attacks took place during filming. Boyle notes the parallels between the ‘missing persons’ flyers at the beginning of the film and similar flyers posted in New York City in the wake of the attacks. Boyle adds that his crew probably would not have been granted permission to close off Whitehall for filming after the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.” Super close to not having that iconic empty-London-streets scene! This film is an all-time favorite of mine and I’m so glad y’all watched it! ❤❤
Since you guys like Cillian Murphy and sometimes do reactions that aren't horror, I think you guys would LOVE the movie "Breakfast On Pluto". Cillian plays a transgender woman named Kitten and she is FABULOUS! I don't want to spoil anymore but its sooooo good and UNDERATTED! Even if you dont do a video, do yourselves a favor and watch anyways. But please consider a reaction. Thank you! Yall are funny. ❤ have a good day! ❤
@12:00 it's not terrible quality, really. The director choose to film it like that so it would fell gritty and real. Some say a bit disorienting, making you feel more uneasy while watching the film.
So excited to see 28 years later!! Cillian is such a charming Irish actor!!! Also this is why I love British films & telly shows & everything British!!! 😍🇬🇧💖
I believe it's the scenes when they get to the father and daughter's apartment that were filmed on 9/11. In the commentary they were mentioning how unreal that day felt. They had to get the shots done but it also felt like the world was ending. Not to mention they would have never been allowed to film in some of the areas they did for the empty London sequence before 9/11. This was a tiny Irish film with no budget. In Britain it did ehhh but it was HUGE in the States. The theory is something apocalyptic (quietly so, not blockbuster hell yeah way) resonated with audiences.
Good points, although I don't really see how this is an Irish film. It was written and directed by Alex Garland and Danny Boyle, both British, not Irish (although Boyle probably has Irish ancestry). The only actual Irish people in this movie are Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleason.
Whenever anyone asks me what my favorite horror movie is, I always say 28 Days Later! It’s a great zombie horror film, a brilliant social commentary, and an impressive filmmaking feat (Danny Boyle and crew employed a lot of guerrilla filmmaking techniques due to budget constraints-they made it for just under $8 mil.) Also the soundtrack is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 So glad y’all finally got the chance to watch it! I tracked it down on DVD awhile ago so I always have a copy. Can one have a “comfort” zombie movie? 😂
As a Brit, I feel like I have to say how freaky it is to see London SO EMPTY!! Especially nowadays, you will never see a street on London that doesn't have a least 10 people on it (unless you're in the mega rich parts).
Great pick Pumpkins. Y’all just witnessed one of the greatest, independent, scarier Zombie Movies out there. This was Danny Boyle’s tribute to George A Romero’s zombie movies. And yea 28 Weeks Later is as terrifying but with a bigger budget. ☣️💀
I'm assuming you've already seen it by now, but the cast in 28 Weeks Later are different. This is where their story ends, however, yeah, the plane did see them Also, one of my favourite actors is in 28 Weeks, Harold Perrineau, who plays Sherriff Boyd in From (which I hope you watch at some point)
(At 39:33) I definitely like the sergeant he's more cooperative than everyone else. That and despite his "strict discipline" actions he shows, he's less of an asshole than everyone else.
This is one of my favourite horror films. We went to see it in the cinema and the fact that the zombies were fast was absolutely terrifying, it had never been done before, everyone left the place totally shell shocked because it wasn't like anything we'd ever seen (plus we'd just been introduced to the beauty of Cillian Murphy!). Also, because it's a Danny Boyle film, it had a banging sound track. It really was revolutionary. The filming and editing style, which you found funny, is very deliberate and escalates the tension and anticipation of violence.
There's 28 Weeks Later after this one, and there was supposed to be 28 Months Later, but it never happened. Cillian Murphy has said he's on board if there's a 28 Years Later, so here's hoping.
This film kicked off the "Olympic sprinters on Adderall" zombie genre, where the virus seems to have been manufactured in a lab, possibly as a biological weapon. Selena, Jim and Hannah do not return in the sequel 28 Weeks Later, but look for Jeremy Renner (as a US Army sniper) and Robert Carlyle in starring roles.
Speaking of Adderall, I was doing truckloads at the time this movie came out. It was before most people really knew what it was, and before it was popular in colleges. I didn't even know what it was, but I knew that it made me talk a lot, be very sociable, and stay up and be freaky for about two days. So, I wasn't that surprised when I discovered it was meth in a pill.
A little fun facts: Danny and Cill did the London scenes in pre-production july 2001, they used students to control the traffic. They got a little over two minutes of film. This movie is the first to use DV cameras which you could buy anywhere- it's supposed to look like found footage. Danny,Alex and Cill are filming the trilogy sequel right now- Cill will have a cameo in the first film and then expand his role in the next two. If you want to see a fantastic Danny, Alex and Cill film that came after 28 Days later find Sunshine- stacked cast, amazing movie!! Danny is also working on a theater role for Cill- he always makes sure to see all of Cill's productions- Misterman,Ballyturk and Grief is the thing with feathers. Hopefully once Cill finishes the new Peaky Blinders movie, the 28 years later trilogy, A quiet place 3 and his Universal blockbuster Blood runs COAL he'll be back on stage or back on a new Chris Nolan film lol. Cill has two new films after he won his Oscar for Oppy- Small things like these ( will hit theaters Nov 1) and he just wrapped Steve for Netflix ( lots of awards talk for these two).
LITERALLY just opened your channel hoping for a new video after I finished Fellow Travelers and I am SO STOKED you all never disappoint thanks so much for always providing so much material and taking so much time to create so many back to back videos for us to enjoy. It helps a lot for me to have something to always look forward to especially on the days and weeks I am not feeling well..........like today. Thanks so much been a fan of you both for so long now I cannot even remember when I discovered you. I just know I have always enjoyed every single video you both post.! :-)
Bit of a classic IMO! I forgot some of the preposterous decisions the characters make (like Frank driving through a tunnel when it’s his one shot), but the actors sell everything. My mom never liked zombie movies (something I’ve apparently inherited). She enjoyed this though and kept defending that by saying they weren’t zombies lol. I remember when it came out people were shook by the “fast zombies.” I also forgot that at the end, the soldier zombie really went after his fellow men, suggesting vague memories.
I was so excited to watch y'all watch this movie. BUT! The last time that I watched this movie I literally paused the movie to text my older sister to be like: "You know what? I'm watching 28 days later and...there are mad pepsi ad placements that I never noticed when we were kids..." 😂
Actually this movie makes me think of The Walking Dead. Rick Grimes wakes up the same as Jim. He was in a coma from being shot. Wakes to a hospital (a bit more realistic) blood smeared on the walls, bodies piled up, bullet holes. Ect. He runs into a walker (they don't call Zombies-Zombies since in their world there never was any Zombie lore to watch or read) who is missing her lower half entirely. Of course he thinks he's still in his coma because none of this makes sense. Some huge differences between 28 days and TWD. 28: You can kill the infected much easier as they are still alive technically. TWD: It has to be a head shot or stabbing to the brain. 28: you get only infected by a bite or blood getting in your eyes/mouth. TWD: Bite or scratches yes, but what's worse is EVERYONE carries it and upon dying of even old age you will turn unless head truama. And then of course 28: UK and TWD: GA, VA in the USA. Also I do believe this was filmed on actual film still which explains the grittiness. Oh and TWD has a brit as the lead. Andrew Lincoln the guy from Love Actually. ❤
I remember not knowing anything about this movie when it was released. I don't know if I didn't have a PC or internet, but the only way I had to watch trailers was going to the movies, but I hadn't seen this one before its premiere. So, one day my dad and I go to the movies, and this is the only one we got on time for, and you wouldn't believe how scared I got before entering the room, because back in the day the people at the theater used to decorate the entrances accordingly, so of course, there were zombies and stuff at the door. And I've always been *terrified* of zombies. If I had known what this movie was about, I would have never seen it. But I remember watching and feeling so uncomfortable, not just scared because of the infected but straight up uncomfortable, like the vibes in the room were weird. That tunnel scene still scares me today hahahaha. But at least I got to find out about Cillian Murphy, so that's a huge win.
If y'all want another flick with Cillian lookin fine (clothes on whole movie, sadly.) Free Fire (2016) To quote Robocop, it's: "guns, guns, guns!" + a couple other cast surprises. It's a helluva lotta fun!
If you take animal suffering to heart like I do, then you should avoid Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. I hated it. I was heartbroken through the whole film, and I'll never watch it again.
I have 3 questions: 1. who's place is this? 2. Where's the other cat? 3. Can you please react to Scarlet Johannson's indie movie "Under the Skin"? Thanks :)
Can you guys watch Season 3 of wtFOCK? It’s so good and I am not seeing as many reactions on it as the other countries version before it. Skam is good in most countries but that one is the best.
Can you guy's react to the Mary and Gorge trailer? It's so good. Its red white and royal blue but darker. And has the same actor (Nicholas) playing a prince again
First time find you all... & fully enjoyed the reaction... too funny...will check out your channel hoping all your content is just as good. If so you'll def. get that sub.
The helicopter pilot in the end says in Finnish "Lähetätkö helikopterin?" which in English is "Will you send a helicopter?" meaning they did see them😁😁
Never knew that.

This was written by Alex Garland, who later went on to do Ex Machina, Annihilation, Men, and the upcoming movie Civil War.
FYI, Cillian bone structure has destroyed me since I was a little boy.
underrated? It's literally the best zombie movie, every zombie fan knows dat
So happy to see you react to one of my favorite movies. Cillian Murphy is bae.
Chey in his glasses is giving foxy grandma vibes and I’m loving it
In the original film, Jim does not survive, but I believe it was after test audiences reactions that they added those last couple scenes with him surviving
Never knew that... I for one am glad for the change.....unlike the American version of the movie "Decent" where they change and killed the ending IMO when it was brought to the states.
We can only take so much 😂 I would have been so distraught (I was 14 when my brother took me to watch this in theaters)
Yes on the DVD/Blu-ray on the deleted scenes/alternative ending they have a scene were he actually dies at the hospital and the 2 girls just walk off into the unknown.
Always felt like Jim earned his good ending, in fact it felt like more of a rug-pull than anything. "And he's a sirennn!" 😂😂
I hope you have a great sound system. The mansion scene hits different when you can hear the driving bass line.
THEY ARE MAKING A 28 YEARS LATER MOVIE!!!!! Holy fuck im so excited
Finally some cultured girlies appreciating the true beauty of this movie: Cillian Murphy. I feel seen.
I believe that is a Neal Jordan movie. He is the director who did The Crying Game and Interview with the Vampire.
We need a "28 Hours In" prequel! Outbreak on a normal day
Or
A re-infection outbreak movie "28 Months Later"
28 months later is in early stages of production! And I think a prequel would also be great! Seeing how the monkeys got infected in the first place.
@12:00 it's not terrible quality, really. The director choose to film it like that so it would fell gritty and real. Some say a bit disorienting, making you feel more uneasy while watching the film.

You sound just like my future Exwife... How you Doin? winky face
Truly the ultimate test of the question: “is Pepsi okay?”
Coke's better... btw How u doin? winky face

Evidently you can catch the streets almost this empty early on some Sunday mornings. That's how they got the footage.
Wake up at 5am in the summer.
Great pick Pumpkins. Y’all just witnessed one of the greatest, independent, scarier Zombie Movies out there. This was Danny Boyle’s tribute to George A Romero’s zombie movies. And yea 28 Weeks Later is as terrifying but with a bigger budget. ☣️💀
Danny Boyle.
Y’all’s humor and commentary is everything. This is one of my favorite films.
It was shot on early digital video. I guess the point was to make it immediate and urgent, like watching news footage or home videos.
I'm assuming you've already seen it by now, but the cast in 28 Weeks Later are different. This is where their story ends, however, yeah, the plane did see them

There were only 2 movies in this series. There’s 28 days later then 28 weeks later
OMG, that Brian Eno music as the horses run through the fields...gorgeous.
This film kicked off the "Olympic sprinters on Adderall" zombie genre, where the virus seems to have been manufactured in a lab, possibly as a biological weapon. OMG FIRST TIME?! *RUNS TO WATCH*

It's been many years since watching 28 Days Later . Over 2 decades 😳
Finally! Just watched this the other day along with 28 weeks later, searched through and couldn't find that you all watched it.. yes let's go
This is one of my favorite movies ever. It definitely has a huge following!
Such a great "zombie" movie same for the sequel. Still waiting on the third movie people.
Or a "28 Hours In" prequel set in different cities of the world as it starts happening.
It wasn’t worldwide it was just London

Did not expect yall to react to this movie!! I love!!! ❤️
I can always count on you to make the bleakest of horror films into a laugh fest that brightens my day...
Dude, that part about the fishtank almost made me hork.
Landmines for the win!
"I made my country disappear"😂😂😂😂
🤭😂😭
pepsi sponsored World War Z too
Yes! Great reaction! I cant wait for the 28 Weeks Later reaction.
Great reaction😘
The fact it’s British just makes it. If this was filmed in America with American actors it would have been shocking.
I really hope y'all do 28 weeks later, I love that one.
20:39 *while dancing* "Lets go, bitch. Stab their eyes out, babe" had me cackling. so silly. :)
Actually this movie makes me think of The Walking Dead.

There's a sequels part 2 if you can find it.

I have loved him since I got this on dvd. Pls do the sequel too. Red eye is good it has cillian. If you like space stuff he's in the movie sunshine
Oh god Red Eye is stressful!
You should react to World War Z.
Thanks. This movie is impossible to find. Its also nice to hear the gay appreciation of Cillian.
If y'all want another flick with Cillian lookin fine (clothes on whole movie, sadly.)
Free Fire (2016)
To quote Robocop, it's: "guns, guns, guns!" + a couple other cast surprises. It's a helluva lotta fun!
Can someone tell me where u can watch this? I can’t find it anywhere
If you take animal suffering to heart like I do, then you should avoid Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. I hated it. I was heartbroken through the whole film, and I'll never watch it again.
Yeah it fucked me up watching it too. Animals are life.
watch martyrs 2008
Okay now do 28 weeks later 😅
I have 3 questions: 1. who's place is this? 2. Where's the other cat? 3. Can you please react to Scarlet Johannson's indie movie "Under the Skin"? Thanks :)
Loved this video!
Would love to know your thoughts on Melissa Barrera being dropped from the next SCREAM movie…
If you love Cillian you should definitely watch Peaky Blinders, he is delicious.
I made my country disappear 🤣
Can you guys watch Season 3 of wtFOCK? It’s so good and I am not seeing as many reactions on it as the other countries version before it. Skam is good in most countries but that one is the best.
Can you guy's react to the Mary and Gorge trailer? It's so good. Its red white and royal blue but darker. And has the same actor (Nicholas) playing a prince again
React to Dawn Of The Dead (2004)🫶🏻🫶🏻
please react to the conjuring films
First time find you all... & fully enjoyed the reaction... too funny...will check out your channel hoping all your content is just as good. If so you'll def. get that sub.
