Thank you for this follow up video. Brought back sweet memories with my late husband when we traveled Glacier Park area and other Montana sights on a motorcycle. ❤️
I lived close to Glacier National Park, and it's still one of my favorite places. Our family lives outside the US now, but when we are back, we still spend a big chunk of our time in that area of Montana.
Hi Laurie, Your trip sounds like a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing all the special tips you learned along the way. Your enthusiastic stories paint a beautiful picture of Montana. Happiness, Teresa
Love this video. Always wanted to go camping in a tent there. The village sounds like my cup of tea. Also I just got this tip from a semi-truck driver who uses this tip every day. When driving on a road trip, use a dry erase marker to write the basic directions across the top of your car windshield. If you lose gps signal you have something that has your directions in front of you. Then later just wipe it off.
We just got back from 9 days in Montana ourselves, but we were about 2 and a half hours southwest of Billings in McCleod. We flew into Billings on Friday night and spent Saturday on a pontoon boat at Yellowtail Damn in the Bighorn National Recreation Area. I highly recommend this! The lake is basically in a canyon and there are beautiful cliffs throughout. My boys even jumped from the cliffs into the lake! Truly a unique, beautiful, relaxing experience. Then we drove to our Guest Ranch in McCleod with only 16 other guests total (social distancing, pro level :) . We stayed at the Hawley Mountain Guest Ranch and the whole experience was simply amazing. It was our first time out west, and hopefully not our last! Since I had extra time on my hands during quarantine, I spent a lot of time watching your videos as we are not experienced travellers. Your airport and packing trips were so helpful! I'll be keeping up with your videos in case we ever get the opportunity to travel again! LOL
Oh, I'm so glad you mentioned all these places. I cannot WAIT to return. Wish we could this summer too! Thanks for watching and for your encouragement!
I live in Kalispell. One thing I recommend is the boat tours on the gnp lakes through Glacier Park Boat Company. Tours on Two Medicine, St Mary, Lake McDonald and Waterton. Hopefully the tours will resume in 2021.
Your videos are so informative! I’m from South Texas (Corpus Christi) and appreciate knowing wardrobe and packing tips for other areas. Thanks for the info on Glacier area!
Please do! It was definitely a must-see. I also had one called What to Wear or Pack in Montana in the Summer. I cannot wait to visit again and go all the way to the end of the road! Thank you for watching!
Hello, just found your videos. Thanks for all the info. We are going next September. Very excited. Starting in Glacier and ending in the Tetons with Yellowstone in the middle. Lots to read about.
We camped in Kalispell years ago. I drove the going to the sun road. Then we took a different road back. Hope to go there for a week next time, it's so beautiful. Amtrack also stops at West Glacier I believe. Love camping but haven't been far from home for a few years
Sounds great! While we were at West Glacier Village we looked over and thought we saw a stopped Amtrack train! Bet that would be a beautiful way to see those areas. Thanks for watching.
It’s such a coincidence that this video was just published today! I have watched so many of your travel videos and our family just happens to be headed for Glacier National Park the end of next week! What are the odds!?! So great to have your suggestions on places to go as well as your video on what to wear! Such perfect timing! I’ll be thinking of you...
Oh my gosh! I wrote down all of your stops so we can check them out this fall. Not sure when things start to shut down, I think October, so we should be safe in mid-September. Thanks so much!
Good tips for interesting sites outside of the Park. However, there was a brief shot of Avalanche Lake around 5:00 and that's in Glacier National Park. There are many other areas that you can visit on the East Side though (but not this year). The Blackfoot tribe has prohibited travel on their reservation in order to keep COVID infections out. Next year (or whenever), travel on Highway 2 and you will be in a small section of the Park. There is a mountain goat lick there (off of the Highway). There is Glacier Park Lodge and the town has many shops and restaurants. And then there is the Two Medicine valley -- great place for photos and relaxation. Gary Barron, Jammer from 1975.
Gary Barron Oh thanks for these ideas! What a gorgeous area we cannot wait to return to! Yep the Avalanche Lake pic was when I said one thing I like about Montana is the mountains coming right up to the water, but that was in the park. Have you been to Polson? Loved the lake too!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I have passed through Polson, but did not stay there. There are groves of cherry trees, on the Eastern shore of the lake. When the cherries are in season, you can stop roadside stands and get fresh fruit. (When I worked in Glacier, my parents gave me a bag of cherries. I shared them with the passengers during a red bus tour. Got a lot of tips. I stayed at Big Fork for 4 nights, staying with a good friend. There are lots of shops and restaurants there. I forgot about stopping at Isaac Walton Inn along Highway 2. There are a lot of great views along that highway with many pull-outs.
Thank you so much for the specific tips of places to check out like the pebble beach! This place has been on my bucket list for a couple of years now. I forgot to mention my daughter went a couple of years ago and said it was a must do. Better than a famous amusement park. 😉Julie
Yay! Hungry Horse Dam. We went way up a dirt road ( forgot the #) and found a little lake . What a surprise adventure and we saw Ospreys in their nests.
Hi Lori, planning a trip to Glacier in September, so thank you for these tips! You mentioned that the car rental was about a mile from the Kalispell airport. Are there no car rentals on-site at the airport? Thank you!
Hi, I do not remember. Okay we rented from Enterprise because we did not need our RV, and they were not in the lot. I'm sure there has to be rental car places on the property...hmmm it was in June of the shut down so not sure if they were not open yet or what.
My parents went to Glacier on their road trip home from Seattle 2 years ago (and things were limited because of all the fires), but I had to fly home from Seattle because I had school starting the next day, so I missed out. Have you ever been to the Tetons?
I guess visiting the hospital isn't on the list. I got bad food poisoning that landed me in the local hospital for 2 days. Found out I had a condition that needed surgery as soon as I got home. So happy I got sick or I could be very, very sick if not dead by now. Thank you Jesus.
Thank you for this follow up video. Brought back sweet memories with my late husband when we traveled Glacier Park area and other Montana sights on a motorcycle. ❤️
Oh wow, what sweet memories you must have! Gone too soon. Thank you for watching, Denise.
I lived close to Glacier National Park, and it's still one of my favorite places. Our family lives outside the US now, but when we are back, we still spend a big chunk of our time in that area of Montana.
It's breath taking! I'd love to travel anywhere outside the US right now lol. Thank you for watching.

That will be such a great feeling!
Ug! My favorite place! Can’t wait to go back.
Man, it was truly spectacular especially with no humidity. Thanks for watching.

Ounces like my kind of vacation

Great pointers 👍🙋♀️
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching.
Yay! Hungry Horse Dam. We went way up a dirt road ( forgot the #) and found a little lake . What a surprise adventure and we saw Ospreys in their nests.
Sounds great! So many hidden spots! Thanks for watching!
Did not do or know about any of the things you talked about. Need to go back. Thanks.
It helped that we rented a car. If you cannot, it's still so beautiful.

Oh wow! I thought there were fires in Montana. When I was a teen, we camped by them. I remember Snake River too.
And he swam and swam all over the dam. Seriously, interesting sites.
Oh, now that is stuck in my head! :D
What's to do here in San Diego just got in
Ooh, I have not been there except for a beach house years ago. Good luck! I think Electric Avenue is a real street there for a photo op lol.
I'm here it's beautiful no worries ✌️🏿
So, it's Hannah Montana revival week for the family ??? Lol, Phil.
Are you going to do a video about your RV rental experience?
It was great. Thank you for watching! Here is my video that I did do: bit.ly/RentRVFirstTime
TravelTipsbyLaurie thanks! Will watch.
How was the traffic in the area?
Last summer it was fine!
I guess visiting the hospital isn't on the list. I got bad food poisoning that landed me in the local hospital for 2 days. Found out I had a condition that needed surgery as soon as I got home. So happy I got sick or I could be very, very sick if not dead by now. Thank you Jesus.
Oh wow!! Yes.
