Slaves were prevalent in Tamil Nadu during the period of 5th Raja Raja Cholan, during Vijayanagar Empire and when Europeans came to Tamil Nadu, they sent Tamilians as slaves to their other colonies across the continents. This is one of the history of Tamil Nadu which was not much spoken.
