Dan O's everything bagel. Hi how's it going? Hope all is well happy turkey month. 🦃 Yep have that one 👍 kosmo thank you sending hugs to you and your family.
I'm a fan of the Fiesta brisket rub and cumin, onion salt, garlic and find its a hit for me but as always love the vids and keep em coming I gotta get some e of the promise land you showed
Great video. Hopefully you will see this question since it’s a year old . If using the John Henry or any other rub that is lower in salt… do you add salt separately? Do you layer on a different brand with higher salt after the John Henry’s
@@lovemytide45 Howdy. If I feel like the meats needs a little more salt I will add some at the end. That or I will layer another rub that is slightly higher in salt. I do like a little more salt on my brisket personally.
I'd say it's probably close to a 2-1 ration. 2 being the Lowry's and 1 being the pepper. The pepper does add flavor but it's also mainly for the "look". Meaning, you want to see those black pepper flakes on the meat. Hope that makes sense.
I wonder if any good BBQ rubs exist that are low in sodium? I’ve got a cabinet full of these that I can no longer eat at the urging of my cardiologist.
James, one of the main reasons I follow you besides your top notch cooks, is your authenticity. You’re not a bbq infomercial. So many channels these days are busy promoting their latest money grab. We want to see true bbq and what actually taste good. Thank you for keeping it real brother.
I truly appreciate your comment. I've always made it a point to be honest and authentic with my followers. If I ever was paid to promote a product I would make sure everyone knew that too. Thanks for the support.
Another nice video. I have to stop watching this series, it is getting expensive, and the CFO is asking questions, LOL. Question about the John Henry rubs: What is the difference between the label you showed, and the other label brisket rub John Henry offers? Just curious. You have never recommended a product that I have bought and did not think it was not too great. I was impressed by Suckle Busters and It's Incredible.
@@CentralTexasGrilling TY. A local shop close to me carries the line of his rubs. I did order off the manufactures website. Found a 10% off coupon to help offset the shipping cost.
I’m come to the conclusion Brother James that after buying 4 Kosmos rubs that they are not very good. So I no longer will buy them. I’ll stick with John Hengry Rubs witch I’ve been buying for 10 years.
Love the rub reviews. Great series James !!
Thanks for watching Robert!
Great video! You should try Malcom’s TX brisket rub. Definitely awesome!
Love Malcolm and Heath
I would love to try that rub. I'm gonna have to try and get my hands on some.
Brother James once again Great Video. Keep up the good work. Hope to see you in Lockhart.
Thanks! I'm already registered and ready to go for Lockhart so I'll be there.
Dallas likes that combination too.
You certainly have picked out some great rubs James. I'm going to order some promiss land rub.
That Promise Land is legit stuff. You can find it at "The Barbecue Store" in Hempstead. You can goggle it.
Good info, great combo!
Thanks bro!
1836 is a great rub! I like all of their products.
It sure is. I'm really digging it.

I'm a fan of the Fiesta Brisket rub too. I do use it often. That Promise Land is legit.

Great information, James👍 cheers!
Thanks for stopping by Bobbi!
Great info and products
Thanks for watching!
Heith Riles has some good rubs and Swine life does also.
Yeah, Heath Riles definitely makes good rubs.
Good stuff James, thanks!
Thanks Troy!
What is the ratio of coarse black pepper to Lowry's Seasoning Salt?
I'd say it's probably close to a 2-1 ration. 2 being the Lowry's and 1 being the pepper. The pepper does add flavor but it's also mainly for the "look". Meaning, you want to see those black pepper flakes on the meat. Hope that makes sense.

I think most rubs will be higher in sodium. The Texas Best Brisket Rub (all their rubs really) is low in sodium. May want to look into that one.
do you still use the fiesta fajita and arnies? and if i'm used to using those 2 would the first class bbq be a good step up?
I use the Fiesta Fajita still, not Arnie's rub. The Promise Land has become my go to brisket rub for comps.
The smoked Barbacoa is not the best at La Barbacoa, but Ill give their rub a try.
Can't believe you didn't include LC beef rub or Spiceology Brisket F -Bomb
I use the Kosmos.

I've been wanting to try the Mad Cow Rub, but the shipping is a bit to pricey for me.
I might have a bottle I can send you. Are you in the states? Send me a message on Instagram.

Yes I'm in the states but don't have Instagram. Is there any other way?

I think the only difference is the bottle I showed has a new label. It looks like they're updating their labels.

I've used Kosmo's and had it come out inedible because of the salt a few times but friends use it and like it so idk,
I understand that. Like many things, it's a personal preference for many. The John Henry rubs are really good stuff for sure.
