The entire reason the UMP was created was because the MP5 couldn’t be reengineered to 45 and the SEALs wanted a lighter weight SMG that also was chambered in 45acp.

Does your Evo have a Timney V2? The first gun my daughter ever shot was the EVO and she didn’t want to put it down, so not sure I agree about recoil. It also sounds and shoots like it’s suppressed even though it has a faux suppressor. They fixed everything that was wrong with previous version and the breakdown couldn’t be any easier. 35 round mags are $17. I have an Aimpoint T2 on it and it stacks holes at 25 yards. Haven’t shot the Mac-5, it does look nice, I’ll give you that.
A few years back it wasn't entirely unusual to see them strolling around with Lee Enfields. The Mumbai attacks mostly changed that, but I would assume there are still plenty of SMLEs out there in rural areas (it's a BIG country).
This will be my 3rd MAC, I already have a MAC 1911 and the MAC Breacher (benelli m4 clone) they all run great no issues ever with either one. They make great guns.

I found the mac5k and put it on lay away. Ordered collapsible brace and mlok handguard and pic rail. Already have a yhm r9. I can't wait to finally get a "mp5" and set it up with modern furniture. Its probably going to be my wifes truck/family vehicle lol gun
Just got mine yesterday. Took it to the range. Ran everything I threw at it with absolutely no issues at all. I've heard the century arms version has a break in period. This one just took 240 rounds flawlessly right out of the box. I've always wanted an mp5. This scratches that itch perfectly.
Have your gunsmith check the bolt gap on your MAC 5. I am a FFL and gunsmith and just purchased one of these to evaluate and found that the one I have has no bolt gap at all. HK specs are .25mm to .45mm which is .010 to .018 inches, With no bolt gap at all means that the rollers are not engaging in the recesses of the trunnion fully and therefore what you will have is almost a direct blow back firearm. This will cause undo wear on the firearm and shorten it's life. This is not good. I urge all of you that have purchased one of these MAC 5s to check the bolt gap on your firearm.
I just bought a zenith new from a gun show for 1300 with 6 mags and the sb brace already on it. Also just bought the utg pro rail/handguard since it looked so good.
Reality is…MP5 is 1966 technology. Yes it’s a difficult gun to produce, but with modern CNC techniques we should be able to produce it a a reasonable price. Glad to see someone is … well not bring back a classic.. just making it where the average Joe can own one. I own a scorpion evo with a binary, can be a touch punishing to keep on target because of the direct blowback. I’d like to try the roller delayed. I got to shoot a real one in Iraq. Even in full auto, it was a track driver. 30 rounds into the size of a soda can put on edge.
Even if you do buy one it still needs a stock or brace, suppressor and binary trigger. Which will cost you another 2 grand on top of the 1 grand on the gun.
should have used subsonics with the can. i would have liked to hear how quiet it could be but using supersonic ammo made the can basically pointless outside of looks. that thing was pretty loud still.
@@Strigon01the MAC-5 doesn't have a chrome lined barrel, but a chrome lined barrel only matters for full auto. Since the vast majority of people aren't going to be running full auto, it makes zero difference. 9mm is a low pressure round, a barrel is going to last close to 100,000 rounds. The very few people that will shoot that many rounds from it ($25,000+ worth of ammo at today's rate), the cost of a new barrel is pretty much irrelevant.
The urge is strong to buy it but the last round bolt hold open is what gets me every single time aftermarket needs to come out with one that does just that. They would sell like hotcakes. Also takes scorpion mags.

YHM R9 is a great suppressor for an mp5. Supers are quite, subs are movie quite. Doesn't break the bank either.

Its a UTG pro for a handguard, sort of a monolithic.
That UTG Pro pic rail/ hand guard has a very tight fit picatinny rail! But highly recommend it

CZ Scorpion Evo 3+ with Timney V2 trigger all day long.
I have both. The Mac5 is more accurate and has virtually no recoil.
Don't get me wrong, I love my CZ but it doesn't compare to the MAC.

You guys need to shine a light on the Leesporting LS5 lower which puts ar15 controls and trigger group on any MP5 for a couple hundred bucks.
It also makes the mag release button actually usable

The HK mags are literally the most reliable mags for a 9mm PCC. B&T offers a MP5 mag option for their SPC9, APC9 and others
