I was there Saturday. I've been watching dirt track racing for 50 years, my brothers Tom, Rob, Charles and Jim Majeski all raced flat track and let me tell you this was the best and closest half mile racing I've ever seen. It was like mile racing on a small track. Almost every race from the heats, dash for cash and finals went right to the bitter end! The only other time I was at this track was in 1975 I believe. We had raced a district 6 scrambles or maybe it was Elkton earlier in the day and then rushed to see the pro regional at Bridgeport. When we arrived Eddie Ingram in his purple leathers was walking off with the novice main on a Beaver Dam Bultaco Astro. Dont remember who won the junior main but I think one of the Palmgrams won the expert. I was totally surprised when I saw the track Saturday it was so different than 1975. Smaller and banked. But boy does it produce great racing. The Grand National people would have to be crazy not to come back here forever! On most of the less than mile tracks the riders space out after about a third of the way through...well not this place! Both 450 and expert finals had you either on the edge of your seat or jumping up and down screaming like the crazies behind me! Can't wait till next year, I'm bringing some friends I know will really get a kick out of this great racing 👍👍👍
