I really appreciate your information, my friend is start clinical and she got a though case and when she told me I was so scared and I almost changed my mind not to talk the class and your video helps me to understand that it all for a while everything will go pass
I am so glad to hear my video helped you. Yes this too shall pass. I feel like nursing school is harder than the real nursing job. When you are new to everything, it’s a culture shock. If you love helping people, you will get past all the other stuff. You will be happy and you will be a very good nurse. Don’t be discouraged by difficult stories that you hear. Learn from them and move on
Yes I totally agree. It’s good to know before you get into all the prerequisites and the nursing program. But don’t be discouraged! There’s so much you can do with your nursing degree! Once you get a little experience, there are many areas where you’ll find what you like ❤
Yes, I am seeing these kinds of stuff RNs during my clinical, some times I hate to go to the hospital because of this issue, but I paid so much to get my BSN.
Ayzosh ehet. There are difficulties in nursing just like there are in other fields. You will pass it. You will find your way in nursing and once you are that nurse, no one will step on you. Keep strong. You made it this far. You can get through
Time management is the key! Also depends on which hospital you work, some place you can take 1 hr lunch break plus 15 -20 minutes breakfast & no more than 3 pt days. you shouldn’t lift more than 30lb without lifting machine . Also yes a lots of ሬሲስት but you all need to speak up for your self /zero tolerance for ሬሲስት!!
Yes I very much agree! And 0 tolerance for racists 🙅🏽♀️. Thank you for your thoughts! I have a video going up at 10am this morning elaborating on some of the things I talked about in this video and also answering some people’s questions. Try to watch if you can, I share my experience with racism as well.
No problem hun. I’m glad you found this video helpful. To transfer your degree from Ethiopia to here, go to CGFNS.ORG they have a step by step way on how to do it. Also, "ስለ ነርሲንግ ነርሲንግ በአሜሪካ" ብዬየሰራሁትን ቪዲዮ እይው. I explained a lot of that on that video
Hello I really want to be a nurse, but I'm good with english language, but I don't have that much self confidence to work as a nurse, and also scare for the bulling thing...... Say something to me... thanks a lot!!!
I have been in a nursing school since 2019. I am going to graduate in December. I am on my clinical now. Last week a caucasian lady wanted another nurse .....she refused my treatment. They told me she doesn't like brown skin......I understood her but I was also disappointed. What do you say about this?
@@Haymanotsavedbygrace ask your husband is it normal if I get disappointed? I didn't not show it to the stuff but I went to my house and cried. It was my first time working out side in here I am a house mom and a full time student.
@@anshasmith6936 it is because of his color. And he said " I'm sorry you are going through this and yes you have all the right to be disappointed". tell to the staff what happened and how you felt. My husband been an RN almost 10yrs. He used to be disappointed at the beginning but now he laugh at them. Ayzosh mama you are strong and you will get use to it👍
yes you can do that. You can do your bachelors in nursing and use that bachelors degree to apply for medical school. However, most people just do their bachelors in biology or chemistry to get into medical school. I think it would be a lot to go through nursing school and then get into medical school. It’s possible but I have never met a doctor who did that. You will also end up doing way more classes because the prerequisites for premed and prerequisites for nursing are not all the same.
I have a question for you I graduated nursing in Ethiopia so now I am preparing to take NCLEX here in America. I speak limited english language so what about the language matter ?? How when can I improve my language maybe I can pass the exam ?
sewent yigodal yalshiw gen it depends i mean in the place where i am its always nurse aid who usually takes care of patients plus there are a lot of aids and techniques for moving patients you are not supposed to move anyone if it a risk for your health
Very true! It does depend on where you work. I have worked at a SNF before and I never had to toilet or transfer a patient. But working at a hospital, nursing aids are not always there to help. Sometimes it’s just you and the patient and maybe they would like to use the restroom and you have to help them in many ways. And there are lifting devices and many techniques you will use so that you don’t get hurt. However, over time, even pushing a lift/hoyer, helping a pt sit up, using sliding sheets to pull patients etc… overtime your body will get tired. Just like any other labor job. That’s what I was trying to say.
