I drove a car I disliked and it was a 2006 Chrysler 300 limited. The power was good but the steering was too heavy because it drove like a tank and the interior of it was ugly. There's plastic everywhere you look. That's how bad the 2006 Chrysler 300 limited is. Never EVER buy one. Buy a new one instead which is alot better and more improved.

I had an A4 Avant from 2011 and still to this day consider it one of the best cars I ever had. The design of the thing 10 years ago was incredible in my opinion, it never gave me any problems with reliability and since it was the 2.0 Liter Diesel, it consumed very little (it probably also polluted tons of NOx in the atmosphere, but hey no one's perfect). Owning now the latest A4 Avant, I have to say that the built quality was actually better in the previous gen and the design too was much better back in the day, should have just kept my old A4 😢

    • @madmikesch2453
      @madmikesch2453 Год назад +5

No worries, it is one of the cleanest Diesel-cars like the VWs too. All brands cheated most of them a lot more than VW. A Volvo was tested with 10 times more NOx than a VW Passat with 2.0TDI. In Germany the A4 is allways the winner in reliability in its class the last 30 years .

I still have a 2011 A5 with the 2.0TDI lump in it. It runs smooth as anything still to this day. Has nearly 150,000 miles/240,000 km on it.
Never had an issue bar obvious wear and tear, replacing suspension components and tyres. Regular services and just basic maintenance and they can run for a long time.
People seem to forget that you are supposed to maintain a car. Its not a one off purchase. Same with anything. You cant buy a pair of shoes and expect them to last years if you dont take care of them.

Adding another car to the list. The Saturn Vue Greenline Hybrid. The other Vue models aren't half bad, but the hybrids were designed in Germany, and shared virtually zero mainstream parts, and as such were complete lemons. I owned one, and after buying it with just over 100k miles, the ABS, TC, ESC, and Hybrid power system failed, leaving me in a 4000lb crossover being lugged around by a 150whp 4 banger with a 4-speed auto. On another note, why isn't the Dodge Dart on this list? They have so many recalls and reported issues it's not even funny anymore.

The only part that failed was the turbocharger, but that was not because of engine problems. It still is the most reliable and safest car of my family. Cruising fun fact: The car weights about 1500kg and feels really heavy. But its a god damn arrow on the highway. It feels stable, low and incredibly comfortable at speeds over 160kmh(i live in germany)

    • @Byefriendo

The TDI models of these cars are great, the 2.0TFSI + DSG combo is the real dud of the lineup (ask me how I know). And yeah they do feel really heavy, I suspect it is because they have the polar moment of inertia of a cruise ship having the big iron block engine hanging fully infront of the front axles, as well as the soft suspension and plenty of body roll.

I own a '09 Audi A4 Avant with the 1.8TFSI engine. As you said in the clip, I had to replace my engine costing me a healthy 6K.
However, this was due to a broken chain tensioner. Never had my Audi leak or consume any oil.
I did replace everything about the (new) engine. Like timing chain + tensioner, new valves, new seals, new pistons + rings, everything...
Cost me a fortune, but love my Audi nonetheless and was totally worth it.

I daily drive an 09 Audi A4. I luckily haven't had any oil issues up at 83k miles but I have had a couple blown/cracked intake manifolds. I really love this car especially in the winter despite being in the shop every few months. I 100% do not regret buying it as it's an absolute blast to drive.

Very nice, I know this comment is a year old but you really should check to make sure it has the updated timing chain tensioner if it has the 2.0T/EA888gen2. They pretty much all fail (without any warning) at around 100-120k miles and if you are unlucky they will take your valves and pistons with them. I had this happen to me on my 09 A4 ):

I just had a 2010 A4 and I was fully aware of the oil consumption issue. It actually can go into sum 2012 models. The one I bought had the work done on it, with photos and receipts for parts. I thought the car was great , of course my engine had the updated pistons and rings in it but it was a pretty satisfying car. I upgraded on whim because I had watched reviews on youtube about the RS3. I wanted to see if the hype was real and had no intention on buying it. Well the hype is real and I love it to death, except not offering a manual. Thats my only gripe about it.

They used to stand for reliability pre 2000. I had a 90 240sx (before they got big) with 160k on her in ~2004. Drove her for 2 years and 80k miles (pizza driver) with only a fuel pump failure. I was a teen and drove it like a race car everywhere I went and i couldn’t kill it.

Jaguar X Type...Had two of them as family cars for many years and had very very few issues, once got picked up in a 250,000 mile estate that was being used as a taxi, driver said it was very reliable. Fuel consumption (gas mileage) isn't brilliant, 40 mpg from my 2 litre one and 33mpg from the wife's 2.2 auto version but they certainly weren't a terrible car in my experience. We kept updating them when they hit around 130,000 miles so had 6 different ones altogether. Now have the XE and find that a pretty good car also. Small point; the car at the end of your clip on X Types wasn't an X Type

I kind of disagree about the PT Cruiser----I had one and it was good as long as you kept up repairs----it was fun to drive and had an excellent interior along with 6-speaker surround sound.
