Thank you very much for the tutorial, it’s great! Could you tell me if it is complicated to add a menu so that the new clothes are optional without removing the old ones? Thanks again and you win a subscription
I'm new to VR, I got it for a long distance friend and I have been lost with unity, I like a little anime with a more classic feel, I have been racking my brains watching tutorials on how to do anything...within your video I have been able to do in an hour what people have spend days trying to teach me...I can't thank you enough.
Are you sure they were created for your avatar? You can't use Modular Avatar to use another avatar's clothes on yours. It'll be impossible to fit unless you do it manually with 3D modeling skills. Most outfits released in the past year or so will work perfectly with Modular Avatar, so errors are usually on the user end!
Does publishing the duplicated avatar overwrite the already uploaded avatar since it is within the same project file? When I try to publish it, it seems it is trying to do just that. *Edit: Sorry! I forgot to detach the duplicate, so it's no wonder it kept overwriting. Thank you for the amazing video!
tysm for the tutorial! it helped a lot with this booth edit im trying to do. my question would be how to add new expressions? i see a lot of those being sold on booth and im interested in getting a new pack since the base expressions are kinda.. eh. tysm again!
omg also another question. sorry im editing avis as im watching. when i loaded in the base booth avi, the blendshaped were edited due to the clothes, so i fixed them so the body can look normal. but when i upload the avatar into vrchat the blendshaped are back to the way it first uploaded. any ideas on how to fix that? ^^ thank you
Regarding all of your questions, I suggest you click through your avatar and learn all about the fx layer, menus, parameters, etc. For what you want to do, it's so much more helpful to explore under the hood than to follow a video guide. Just duplicate your avatar and then go crazy with chaging and editing everything in the inspector!
If I simply shaped the clothes in blender to the avatar and lined up the bones to the avatar would the clothes work with modular avatar? Or would I need to pretty much add it all in blender to get it to work?
Thank you for the tutorial! This is a SILLY side question but how did u film yourself IN VR Chat at the end of the video; FROM That perspective? I only have access to personal mirror but it doesnt show the perspective u show here. Any suggestions or did someone film you from that angle??
You can't. Anything you put on your avatar without "Editor Only" will get loaded into the game. And then people will auto-hide you depending on their filesize/safety limits. So that's why I only do 1 outfit per upload!
Hi Cid, your video on how to add clothess was really helpful! How do I turn that avatar into a vtuber like yours on the screen? Could you explain that as well? Thank you!!!
uh.. small problem :,)i did everything you told me to do and.. it works but there's only "hip" not "chest" in the modular avatar setting for the outfit :( people could see my breast without anything in vrchat ://
That's a good idea, but some clothes reuse those clothes bones so you could run into an error. This tutorial is meant for complete beginners who can mess up easily, but once you know what you're doing, you can delete those old bones.
3 hours if scratching my adhd brain later to find this and HOLY HECK its great! only question is that a part of the shoes on mine aren't moving properly, am i able to move em manually to the avi armature after setting it ala modular avatar?
Used modular Avatar and am now not able to scale anything on my avatar. I've tried deleting and reimport, making sure that I am on the scale tool, set position sync mode to not locked but, nothing. help plz.
This assumes that there are already components on the clothing that set it up to work with MA, wich results in a very limited range of application for this guide.
Small question, is it possible to edit the body proportions of booth avatars on Unity? I saw some works of people managing to turn the booth girls taller and more mature women
Yes, it's possible, you have to edit the scales of the bones. But it will also make your clothing unusable without some more extra steps. And even then there might still be clipping/odd behavior. It's not that hard but it requires studying and experimenting!
Not all clothes support Modular Avatar. I think Obsidian does, though. If you bought it, maybe you can look at the booth page or contact the creator for help.
Is duplicating the model required, or only for people who wanna remove the main clothes and use the new ones? I'm using the Mamehinata which has toggles for all it's clothing/accessories, but I wanna add the new clothes as additional toggles. Would that be okay for me to do?
wait, how did you put on the battlesuit? I tried to, but it always tells me that it's unable to find the Hips object for the outfit. But I'm probably just dumb help pls ;w;
heyhey, so im using the same base as you! im using outfits that require the heel blendshape set to max. in unity it appears fine, the foot is curved and fits the shoe but when i load into vrc the foot goes flat and pokes out the shoe. any reason why the blendshape isn't applying in game?
To my knowledge, that should never happen. The heel blendshape has no default parameter, so whatever value you set in the Unity editor should appear in game as well. I recommend re-importing the avatar and remaking the avatar, or even starting a new project. Or most likely, you overlooked something and uploaded the wrong avatar or the something like that. Happens to everyone.
Is there one that's for non booth avatars, I can't read Japanese well, and can only pick up on some spoken words that get auto translated in my head from years of anime.
I have a problem in my case when I put on my clothes, my foot comes out of the shoe and I can't fix it. Would you know how to put your foot inside the shoe? :´(
@@cid_vrc oh yes I know that~ But the request was if you can make a video tutorial about fitting clothes are not made for this model, I have a lot clothes it was made for Selestia but I don’t want to buy again the same clothes for Manuka chan 🥹☹️
@@cherrygirl8204 That require studying blender and the 3D rigging process, and unfortunately I only know how to use unity. Good luck to you if you decide to go down that rabbit hole!
There's a tutorial on my channel about how to make toggles. I'm also planning to make a tutorial that uses a free tool, since the one I showcased is paid
Technically even if you change the blendshapes in unity, the default parameters will override them once you load the avatar. However, this should only happen for the base avatar's objects, not clothing that you add yourself... So that's weird.
Hey trying to upload a t-shirt made for Yoll. everything looks great but when I get into VRC my girl's boobies keep clipping through the shirt when I move.. Checked the position of everything I did messed around with blend shapes and scaling, even started from scratch in case I messed with something but still clipping. Any advice? Thanks
Like seriously now i fcking cant the way he explains-... i feel like do this then this "magical jump into future" now this then this "jumps back in time " and as last this ... do u got i good .... LIKE HOLY SHIT ONE FCKING NORMAL EXPLATIONADN WAOPKD OWAKOD aw
I mean, yeah it uploads a new avatar with the new outfit but I was looking for a way to have it a toggle in a radial menu like all the other cool avatars have. Im so tired of the way VRChat handles avatars, I have wasted so much money on them and outfits only to find out I cant actually do anything with them without a degree in Unity. Like even the avatar I bought, the preview screenshots show it without stockings, but behold when I open the avatar up in Unity theres literally no slider I can move or no file in Amature that I can delete to get rid of the stockings. I just dont understand why everything has to be this confusing
It’s *usually* a better practice to upload each outfit separately for the sake of performance, and it doesn’t take that long to change avatars. But if you want toggles, VRCFury makes that easy look it up.
Thank you very much for the tutorial, it’s great!

Working with animations is extremely complicated! I don't recommend it for beginners.

Duplicating the model is the same as making a backup. You should always do it before making major changes to your avatar. 😄
Ohh, okay! That makes sense - Thank you so much! =D
for the HYPER TECH EVO outfit does the gun just work when you do the Modular Avatar thing or have to rig it to shoot
Pretty sure it just worked for me. Contacts and constraints or whatever are already programmed in
