  • The Phantom of the Opera
    Live on Broadway
    May 12, 2008
Starring: Howard McGillin, Elizabeth Loyacano, Jeremy Stolle (u/s), George Lee Andrews, David Cryer, Rebecca Judd, Evan Harrington Heather McFadden, Katie Banks, Chris Bohannon, Harriet Clark
Here's one of the most recent videos of Howard McGillin, there is only one other video of him after this from August. So it's very interesting to see what he was like just around a year before he gave his final performance in the part after having done it across 10 years!
We also have Elizabeth Loycano, who started out playing Christine in the infamous Vegas production and was alternate on Broadway for a period of time. And of course, long time understudy and fan favorite Jeremy Stolle in what is the earliest video of him in the show, playing Raoul!
    Enjoy :)

The best RUclips channel! I live in another country and have no money to travel to New York to see POTO on Broadway (a distant dream for me), so thank you so much for all these wonderful videos! It is the only way for me to see all these fantastic performances! Thank you, thank you for the opportunity! You have no idea how grateful I am. It means so much to me 😍👏
    I'm sorry for my English.

Howard was such an outstanding Phantom! And I’ve always wondered how many different Christine’s he performed with 🤷‍♂️. I know it’s a lot! Love how he gets super mad in his AIAOY reprise 01:18:55. He rocks the hell out of that golden angel.

Brian, I've really appreciated your support of this channel and am so happy you are such a big fan of the show and enjoy getting to see these recordings through the show's years. I know how exciting it is to get to see all the different productions and performers and it makes one want to see more and more.
However, when you always comment saying "more please", or just "more" like you have here, it is a little bit upsetting. It may not seem like it, but it does take some time to get these videos prepared for sharing, and in terms of the audios I frequently dedicate time to editing and remastering the audios to make them sound better before sharing them which can be a lengthy process, and I don't have much free time as it is. So when you're always asking for more and more, sometimes without thanking me, it feels like you're demanding me to take the time to constantly be taking the time to get videos to share, and quite frankly it feels a little disrespectful of the time I've taken to prepare all this material for sharing, and a bit ungrateful for the material in general.
I know you don't mean it that way and I'm not angry or anything, but please be a bit more thoughtful and considerate when posting comments like this, and I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't keep commenting "more". When I have the time I will absolutely continue to find and prepare more Phantom audios and videos to share, but commenting "more" each time isn't going to encourage me to put up more shows any quicker, I can only do what I have time to do.
I hope that you can understand, and please remember I'm not angry and I'm sorry if any of this comes off as mean or aggressive as that isn't my intention! I really do love how much you adore the show and your appreciation for all of these different performers :)
There will continue to be more videos!
Thanks for watching and understanding :)

Just because of how popular and loved it was by fans, and how much of a major production it was in the show's history!

Ok, you seem to be an expert at this: can you tell which phantom it is in this performance? This should be James Barbour era but voice sounds different…could it be Ted Keegan? ruclips.net/video/gajlhP-OcMQ/видео.html.
And thank you so much for these videos!! Howard is wonderful and I love his, Hugh and Tom Oleary’s performances. Howard got way angrier and started speaking through final lair in his final days no pun intended. I quite miss straight singing Howard from the earlier days. I noticed Tom O’Leary and him bother started rushing more towards the end of their tenure. And the biggest tell is the lack of immediate applause when they sign the last “it’s over now the music of the night”. The audience can usually feel when that is well paced for dramatic effect vs rushed. I had a recording of Tom when he was on tour first started out as phantom and he was very different and took his time. The applause was immediate. I also remember an interview where Howard said he sang the songs so many times that sometimes his mind DID wonder to his groceries and other things. Lol. I honestly can’t blame him. He’s been the phantom longer than anyone.
Thanks again for these videos. It means a lot of phantom phans and they’re real gems ❤

It is Jeremy Stolle as the Phantom.

I always find it odd when people applaud right after the Phantom sings "it’s over now the music of the night". It's not a natural place to clap especially considering how the show is literally going to be over in slighty over one minute. I always assume those applauding had never seen the show before.
