had Sailor Moon but these trailers got me hooked even if I'm more into the artistic emotional ones now. Although Ninja Scroll had a hint of it and GITS..
Whoever edited these trailers should know they impacted a generation. Unfortunately a lot of anime cant go as dark as it used to, but perhaps mecha will be returning.
it's funny that this was featured on my copy of Ghost in the Shell DVD and it was one of the things I remember as fondly as the film itself. It was like a music video set to some cool action and some surreal imagery (the cop ripping off his pants showing off his grenade cache always had me busting up). This helped establish what I liked and didn't like animation wise.
Anyone remember when channel 4 in the U.K used to air anime on friday and saturday nights? Cyber City, Geno Cyber, A.D Police, Devilman, Crying freeman, the list goes on. God I miss those days.
britbloc123 I remember them so well. Channel 4 used to be amazing. I remember watching cyber city oedo 808 and buying it years later on VHS. They also had shows like Bits too.
Still not too late to catch The Guyver....still tops. Only episodes 1-6. It ends on a good note there. Everything after that is too much like a comic book and the incarnations of the 2000's is chock full of PC.
this videos how I discovered kmfdm, this song and the album nhil became the sound track for hundred if not thousands of hours of old school table top RPGing(with dice and character sheet) but those dayz are dead and gone.RIP my youth.
So many memories of the Manga video! My childhood friends had a collection of videos in the '90s. We watch together with Biobooster Armor Guyver and Dominion Tank Police. I grew up watching Anime in Arabic and Italian dubbed as a kid.
i think the quality of animation in japan pretty much peaked in the mid 90s and has gone down the shitter with every passing year. hell. anime is barely even made in japan these days. it's done in china/korea now
illuminatioracle sure this was a beautiful time in anime I'll agree to that! but thinking far to elitist like that will get you missing out on Space Dandy and other hardly known anime. others like me who don't live in Japan had to find this through the underground. that's right anime was an underground thing at one point!! I like Dragon Ball better than Dragon Ball Z there I said it. so please by all means, don't give up hope on all anime just put your ear back to the ground and look! look for more abnormalities and curios that stick out to no one else but those who know!!!! this is a full representation of the Underground. In music in cartoons in pop culture in everything!!!!!! in the movie Blade they said it best "..... the world you know it's just a sugar-coated topping. Beneath Your World there is another. ANDin that world you need to learn to pull the TRIGGER!!" however and whatever way you found this video that's how you can find the underground
It does make me proud that one punch man does in fact remind me of beautiful well written anime much like this....... Be Outlaw years....... The days when anime was underground....... Dangerous......... It must be sent
This trailer shows why I love the old-school scene of anime more than post-2000 anime. Now if only anime in general kept up with Devilman and other good animes with faster panels per second. I dig that stuff.
Focus! Only mentioned about ova's and anime. Matching up this with KMFDM was an excellent choice. I have seen all but the former. CGI does not capture that 'wow' factor like the hand drawn animes of past did. If it takes over the whole product without any flow into other forms, then it is just lazy and sloppy.
I used to read and watch American and European comics like Asterix and Spirou and the X-men. My young life changed forever when i saw this. Can you blame me i switch everything for mangas?
I miss Manga Video. The golden age of classic anime.
They were a lot better than funimation. Never pushed their politics into the anime.
Anime and industrial music are a marriage made in heaven.
All of a sudden I'm 16 years old again, watching this on an old VHS.
Yes, like the early 2000s for example
I had this VHS.... it's what got me into Anime AND KMFDM
Same!
had Sailor Moon but these trailers got me hooked even if I'm more into the artistic emotional ones now. Although Ninja Scroll had a hint of it and GITS..
I do have one KMFDM cd. :) I'd like to get this one
SAME
@SNESdrunk whoa! Random cameo from my favorite RUclipsr, wow!
Vampire Hunter D on late night TV introduced me to ANIME. And, this promo on my VHS copy of Ghost in the Shell introduced me to KMFDM. What a ride...
Very similar experience. Those late night showings of VHD, Robot Carnival, and Akira is what got me hooked. This is also where I first heard KMFDM.
My VHS tape of ninja scroll had this. It changed my life. I was 15 and it felt like it opened my third eye.
Amen, my brother.
My life was never the same after this... I remember it came with a ghost in the shell tape...
ME TOO. It was the VHS of Ghost in the Shell.
Whoever edited these trailers should know they impacted a generation. Unfortunately a lot of anime cant go as dark as it used to, but perhaps mecha will be returning.
KMFDM and old school anime are a good mix
Ahhh MANGA Video, so many memories of being price gauged $32.00+ per VHS cassette.
it's funny that this was featured on my copy of Ghost in the Shell DVD and it was one of the things I remember as fondly as the film itself. It was like a music video set to some cool action and some surreal imagery (the cop ripping off his pants showing off his grenade cache always had me busting up). This helped establish what I liked and didn't like animation wise.
dude I discovered this song THE SAME WAY LOL.
Same that’s how I first heard this on my copy of ghost in the shell on vhs tape
Yes. This.
Quite possibly the one ad that I had no problem rewatching. Oh, nostalgia. Where the hell is my VHS player?!
My introduction to KMFDM at 13 years old. Bought NIHIL at 14 and became a fan.
Man, so much nostalgia. I remember watching this every time I watched Ghost in the Shell on VHS in the mid 90's. I never skipped it.
The days of Tower Records, Suncoast Video and Blockbuster.
🔥 Nostalgia burns within 🔥
Had this on my copy of ninja scroll. The core of becoming a teenager for me and my friends.
fist of the north star was the shit back in the day
So many memories. I already was a huge fan of KMFDM and I watched anime obsessively through the 90's and this was on so many videos.
My childhood right there, sneaking down at night to see what crazy anime was on.
Channel 4 was amazing back then.
@@nefariousnilbog anime and the Bits girls.. Perfect times. 😎💜
i remember this from after i watched the Ninja Scroll Movie on DVD with my dad. That was my first adult anime my dad let me watch~
Your dad is a great father
holy shit this was on the VHS I jacked from Best Buy when I was a kid! I've been "astray" ever since. This is holy to me.
This trailer heavily influenced my life as a kid - ty for upload!
U had to have been there 😎
The part in the middle where the music pulls back and Devilman's face changes gives me GOOSEBUMPS 😬😬
This era of anime was fantastic.
such nostalgia. i always made sure to rewind my copy of ghost in the shell all the way, so the next time i'd watch it i'd watch this too.
This was also in Street Fighter.
Infamous Chun Li fight scene. And the *ahem* scene before it.
@@Circleofcocytusthose anime boobs were the very beginning of my adolescence.
i found one of my husband’s old anime vhs (Ghost in the shell) and this was on it
Omg, the freaking memories! Seen everything on here except for "Mad Bull 34, The Adventures of Tom Thumb, and The Guyver"!
Still not too late to catch The Guyver....still tops. Only episodes 1-6. It ends on a good note there. Everything after that is too much like a comic book and the incarnations of the 2000's is chock full of PC.
This is the original AMV. Nothing else compares to it.
this videos how I discovered kmfdm, this song and the album nhil became the sound track for hundred if not thousands of hours of old school table top RPGing(with dice and character sheet) but those dayz are dead and gone.RIP my youth.
Thanks for posting this. It brings back memories of my younger days. Life was much simpler then.
Oh sweet nostalgia. These were my teenage years.
WAX TRAX FOREVER!
KMFDM, they're the BEST! They are my guys!
Loved the intro each and every time. :)
This promo introduced me to both, ninja scroll and kmfdm thank you Limewire.
So many memories of the Manga video! My childhood friends had a collection of videos in the '90s. We watch together with Biobooster Armor Guyver and Dominion Tank Police. I grew up watching Anime in Arabic and Italian dubbed as a kid.
Same here! I recently found the "Special Edition" version of the VHS at a thrift store, and was immensely bummed that it didn't have this music video!
Oh Wow. This Is Just So Epic.
Was This Actually From The 90s?.
This. Fucking. Era.
Thx, takes me back to where i was when this was attached to the original Ghoxt in the Shell movie
This trailer was fire 🔥 I miss this style of animation.
"My hobby is to slowly peel the skin off the rabbits I catch, especially cute little bunnies like you....and my friend here is thirsty for blood."
My face! MY BEAUTIFUL FACE! You bitch! I'll make you suffer!!
*throws sofa*
2:11 gets me every time
So *that's* where Bennett got it...
I will always associate Devilman with this song cuz of this. I still have my English dub vhs of GiTS too, wowie!! lol
i think the quality of animation in japan pretty much peaked in the mid 90s and has gone down the shitter with every passing year.
hell. anime is barely even made in japan these days. it's done in china/korea now
illuminatioracle "AGREED"
With a few exceptions, I am forced to agree. It's hard to find little gems like Yamato 2199 these days, especially as US releases.
illuminatioracle sure this was a beautiful time in anime I'll agree to that! but thinking far to elitist like that will get you missing out on Space Dandy and other hardly known anime. others like me who don't live in Japan had to find this through the underground. that's right anime was an underground thing at one point!! illuminatioracle wait, so it literally is Chinese cartoons. the end times are near I'm sure...
illuminatioracle Ghost in the shell sac is a notable exemption. It was probably the best animated and produced anime of the 2000s and possibly since.
It does make me proud that one punch man does in fact remind me of beautiful well written anime much like this....... Be Outlaw years....... The days when anime was underground....... Dangerous......... It must be sent
2020 still make me happy
Awesome!!
classic
Bloody awesome
This trailer shows why I love the old-school scene of anime more than post-2000 anime. Now if only anime in general kept up with Devilman and other good animes with faster panels per second. I dig that stuff.
What about Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, Metropolis, Cowboy Bebop the movie and Ghibli?
X was my favorite apocalyptic anime?

This is Awesome! MOAR!!!
I watch this trailer on my street fighter 2 v VHS tape the good old days
Tom Thumb was my favorite anime
Ghost in the shell 💜
Omg thanks for the memories
before these screamo rappers had their amvs, KMFDM did it first!
I used to read and watch American and European comics like Asterix and Spirou and the X-men. My young life changed forever when i saw this. Can you blame me i switch everything for mangas?
Ghost In The Shell VHS!
that's where I first found this too! Except mine wasn't from blockbuster
"Miss" Manga Ent? Hell, these guys remain the UK's main licensees of Anime..

my childhood
90s attitude in a nutshell. I got a big middle finger for all you cakes in 2021.
I still see chung li vs vega from the street fighter anime.
the 1990s? Yeah, I remember them.....
Oh, yeah... never did check out Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb...
Speed this up to 1.25 and this becomes an anime abandon intro
Late 90's/early 2000's as fuck
Ild School yeaaaa
Street fighter 2 the animated movie brought me here.
Ultra heavy beet
Manga Entertainment Presents...
is this the first AMV?
like warhammer and battletech, never could find a good GM for shadowrun, played more palladuim stuff like rifts, robotech, and a few a made up.
GIVE TO MA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anime...what happend!?
AxA
What about deadman wonderland
Tom Thumb really didn't fit in
Not the original.
This explains Bennett the Sage's cringy 90s intro
I want more Anime like Ninja Scroll, Devilman,And Street Fighter, and less of this "Moe" trash people eat up anymore.
