As someone who worked on the seeds of the orignal show in Toronto, its great to see Parade still grow with great performers like this guy. We were all unsure where it would lead in those first readings and am thrilled it went to Broadway, London and beyond. Well done!
I've been searching around and watching different versions of this song and I should say this was by far the best acting and best singing I've found. Congratulations for your wonderful performance. Thanks for all the commitment you've delivered to us audience.
This is how it should be done. Good vocals, in tune, and the emotion shows not only in your actions and face but in the voice as well. Even if i had no idea what was going on right now and couldn't see the staging I would easily be able to feel the emotions in this song.
2:15 .... Theatrical genius. That's all I can say. Chills and tears all at the same time. I barely know the story, and my heart broke for the character in this moment.
@NayfanGolden It's actually really hard to transition from falsetto back to chest voice. I'm singing this for my recital this november! So I agree It's nice to see someone do it well :)
falsetto is just the proper name for head voice, so chill out people and look it up. also yes - ridiculous to say that tenors dont have falsetto. total nonsense. they can simply sing much higher pitches in modal voice/speech quality than a baritone or bass because that is their vocal range and therefore their falsetto would likely start at higher notes and continue higher.
It is, but most people who play the part don't have the falsetto to sing it in - as it is a fairly high singing part. Therefore they tend to softly sing it in head voice as opposed to falsetto - as tenors often have no falsetto.

It's actually written "falsetto" in the sheet music. Do better next time.
Where are you getting your information that tenors have no falsetto? That's absurd. Source: Musical Theatre BFA.
mahhh creys!
