Thank you for the introduction of this piece. I don't have people doing this in my country. You really made me fall in love with Bach, his piece, and yhe instruments
Those slight changes Bach did, as demonstrated by the harpsichordist Richard Egarr, really adding to the simple meaning of "transcription" the professional depth of being almost a composition. Taking two great composers like Vivaldi and Bach, together with fine transcription of a fine composition, played by a very skilled harpsichordist on a real authentic Rucker's instrument which sounds fantastic - makes this upload and the previous one (of the whole performance) a real joy to the ears, mind and heart. Thanks NBS.
I didn't know that the Velen Ruckers had been donated to the Rijksmuseum. I hope this leads to more performances that we can enjoy. Bravo to Richard for such a fine interpretation, and to the recording team of All of Bach for their usual amazing audio and video.
What a fantastic and precious instrument, it is so stunning that these old machines still work so incredibly well. Also like Egarrs way of phrasing and playing, it is just a bit sad that he did the whole piece with the three registers coupled which omits a bit the game between loud and silent passages.
Dit heeft niet het briljante van een later instrument uit zeventien honderd. Asof je een Bach-menuet op een virginaal zou spelen. Maar de gulheid waarmee hij speelt maakt het geweldig te pruimen. Heel mooi !
I love both the composer and the player

They both inspire me
Egarr is an absolute master of the Harpsichord. His interpretations of Bach's works are unique.
