The Frontier one is definitely a park builder type, its under the Creative Management Simulation tag CMS, I'd bet it's 2025 to launch near the film. They already have a game in full development as of 8 months ago due for FY2025. So my bet is it's Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Somebody made the comment on the interwebs somewhere, you have a park builder, beat the park builder either a set of goals, credits roll, alarms in the dark. Powers out and the game swaps to first person survival. The better you made your park, the harder it is to get the power back on and survive.

Frontier is a CMS game developer. This means they will focus mostly on the park management aspect. That being said Frontier did add a first person mode that allows you to walk around and interact with your park. There’s also a mod that allows you to use weapons and to “retire” dinosaurs while also risking being attacked. I feel if they improve the first person aspect, it will marry the best of both worlds.

I have been saying for YEARS now that we need a big-budget Trespasser-style Jurassic game. It's been long enough that the pitfalls and mistakes the Trespasser team made have been learned from. They can make the game that Trespasser was supposed to be now, and it needs to happen.

@@jackmills7758 In part, yes, and also, the first-person survival exploration that is a part of the game's narrative. Basically, it's a Half-Life with Jurassic skin hell; the dev team behind Half-Life 2 cited Trespasser is inspired by a man of the design in Half-Life. Yes, we have Survivor coming out, and I'm sure that will be very close to what I mean, though we have to wait and see with that. Trespasser failed not due to the inherent idea but because of growing pains in the video game industry. Theres a great video on the history of Trespasser that goes into what it was trying to be and what ended up happening from a few years back that explains it better than I do here.

You survive until rescue arrives. Days? Weeks? Random each time. Can't hide in a tree. You need to find food and water and try to signal the search parties. Hunker down in one spot? Search team doesn't find you and you are presumed dead and they leave

This game idea definitely is something I'd always wanted to see, especially if it was like Primal Carnage but better.
Just recently I've actually thought about a mature-rated Jurassic Park spinoff TV show that features with poachers and the cartels of Central and South America secretly going to Isla Sorna and Nublar trying to capture and sell off these Dinosaurs mainly through the black market but end up causing complete havoc throughout South and Central America when they get loose and end up forcing the military to get involved in some way. Not all the JWE2 challenge modes were about building a park. Some had you tranquillizing dinosaurs and relocating them and some you drive around in the jeep photographing them. So they already have challenges with different goals rather than just building a park. So making a challenge mode that focuses around first person survival is something they could and hopefully will do.

frontier does what they do best, which is making park builders. frontier said themselves theyre focusing on park builders for a few years, so this upcoming jurassic world game is very likely a park builder. they wouldnt want to do survival elements and instead focus on park management and looking after dinosaurs. with the power of 9th gen consoles they can go further deeper into making the game complex like better dinosaur AI and more creative control and maybe this time have breeding and baby dinosaurs.

So, back in the day, you had Sim City 2000 and Sim Copter. What was cool about these is that you could design and build a city in 2000, then save the file and load it into Copter, which was a third person, mission based game.
I think something like this would be cool. Design and build a park with Evolution 2, then load file into new game coming out, which could be first or third, and allow yourself to explore your park design, while doing missions or even just general managing it. You could even have it where you could control the dinosaurs as mentioned, and your goal is to escape, eat people, etc. Could even incorporate a possible collapse of the park altogether, with a full evac happening and you're just being a dino, exploring the island and fighting with other dinos, some shit like that.

An idea I just had: A first-person game where you try to build a park, but you and your team aren't safe in the control center if things go wrong. You either start a new park or go to an abandoned one, "Lost World" style, and try to rebuild it while dinosaurs are running around. If you could create your own maps/scenarios and share them, it could have good replayability.
And I don't mean tedious micro-management like refilling feeders, I think you should be able to delegate that work to your staff members.

Here's what I'd love to see: a game set on Nublar, first person, where you're cast a park worker in an alternative timeline where Jurassic Park launched without Nedry's sabotage... but the park's inevitable doom (be it raptors loose in the wild, a system failure, sabotage from Biosyn... or all of the above) happens anyway AFTER it opens.
You're left behind as the guests are evacuated and need to navigate the park to escape yourself. Imagine a sequence where YOU have to get the fences back online after a system failure (to save the lives of the remaining staff trapped in the Visitor's Center), go down into the maintenance shed to get the power on, creep through raptor-infested jungles. Mash up my nostalgia with survival horror and some light repair simulator mechanics.

A co-op base builder (turner Theme Park builder) game with an emphasis on first person/third person would be fun. You could start the game off by trying to survive on an island full of dinosaurs and then gradually build a park. Once the park starts taking form your role would expand to include all the responsibilities JWE/2 park rangers have where you're caring for the dinosaurs and also securing them whenever they break out.
Perhaps they could retain the old overview gameplay by assigning a command and control role to a single player (like Lethal Company), who would then direct the other players to any problems the park is facing.

I think if Universal & Amblin are going to make any successful Jurassic Park video game fanchise with any studio, it has to follow the formula from the movies in order for the game to work. So that would require:1) A team of individuals landing on the island and surveying their surroundings for the first time. 2) The team meets up with another group of individuals who are more experienced in whatever circumstances they happen to find themselves. 3) Someone or something that is on the island is a defector and will eventually prove to be the catalyst for the chaos that wrecks the island during Act Two and beyond. 4) The most cunning characters will ultimately prove to be the player's ultimate salvation & rescue or destruction & death in the final act and climax. 5) The dinosaurs are still animals and will act as such. So whether they act as a threat to the players or are just there to provide a sense of awe and wonder as the game progresses will depend on the events that transpire in the game.
These 5 points are essential. they are the backbone to any successful JP movie, novel, comic or other form of multimedia in the franchise so this game should be no different.

Would be so much fun like Klayton said running around the island only armed with your weapons and playing as a team to survive. And also elements of certain parts of the island being inhabited by certain dinos. And maybe having a T-Rex stalking you across the island feature as you are trying to escape. Also, you could have a 2nd team playing as a group of Raptors with their only objective being to STOP the human team from escaping the island. The possibilities are endless.

(4:49) As cool as that sounds I doubt Frontier will actually use that idea for the next game (for the most part). Maybe they can do a first person mode were you play as one of the guest or park worker and visit some of the enclosures that you've build in the game, but I doubt it would be a full on survival mode. I think one of the big things that people have been predicting and wanting since the first Evolution game is baby Dinos (and probably some other things too but I forget at the moment). Im sure they would do some more animations so they can make the Dinosaurs feel and look more alive, some more building options for the aviaries and lagoons (possibly even some more interactions with both the flying and aquatic reptiles as well), and some general improvements that the previous two games lacked. Plus to be fair Frontier is mostly known for park building games to begin with so im not so sure they would do that type of game play mechanic. They're probably sitting back like, "Nah, will set the company behind Jurassic Park: Survival or some other game company do that type of first person survival gameplay" lol. 🦕🎢🤷‍♂🎮🐣🦖
(2:29) Speaking of the "Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection" im curious to know how that did in terms of sales and popularity (granted I haven't really looked it up myself for that type of info but still im genuinely curious). ⏪🕹🤔🖥📺

First half of the game: you rebuild a park (pick the park or make them DLC)
Middle of the game: the parks taken off and is doing well BUT your success draws in people to sabotage you for one reason or another.
End of the game: it switches from park mangers mode to first person mode and you must escape your now failing park. you gain points for how well your security works, how many people you save, how many dinos you save, and if you can figure out the root of corruption and stop it or will you just run away happy to live another day?

I'd also love a game that focuses on story. Or games that are more action based. The Sega games and those old GB-GBA games were very action orientated and so fun. We need more of that. As a long time fan of the park building genre, from Zoo Tycoon to Megaquarium, and yes every Jurassic Park game in the genre It's always refreshing to be able to see your park from new perspectives.
I think a good middleground to what Klayton Fiorti is talking about in terms of a gamemode is one where you're given the job of creating a park, and filling it to specific requirements. Things like 'Must have x amount of large carnivores, small carnivores, scavengers, marine reptiles, etc' And the objective is to get to 5 stars in the park. However halfway through the campaign as you're settling into the normal experience something goes wrong. Let's say this takes place during an alternative universe to the first Jurassic park movie and you're playing the role of John Hammond. You don't need to have the same characters, in fact I'd suggest you don't because you want the gamemode to be playable for more than nostalgia value. Have be a what if scenario where it's literally 'What if you're the guy' But whenever this goes wrong suddenly you're thrown into a scenario where all the systems are off, and the dinosaurs are running wild, due to the high requirement of carnivores they're over running your security due to all the gates opening, and from that point you enter a first person perspective where how you survive and get the park back up and running is up to you, and has effects on how the game unfolds.
For instance the more guests die the more you're going to get sued to hell and the less likely you are to be able to finish the campaign and the more intelligent of the dinosaurs do have a chance of finding ways into the bunkers. So you could go the security path, bring the electricity online and call for assistance from the mainland while prioritizing the safety of the guests, perhaps there could even be side missions where guests and staff call you from emergency phones located in and around enclosures for worst case scenarios, and you have a limited time to get to and evac them likely with a ranger, or a helicopter before they're inevitably found.
The other two paths for the campaign would be Scientific endeavour where you take a path similar to Henry Wu and bring the research systems back online in order to research and gain data on how the dinosaurs act under drastic situations, perhaps leading you down a path to creating your own hybrid dinosaurs based on what dinosaurs you studied and how they acted, and the last path would be the independent where you attempt to regain total control over the island by yourself, thus avoiding government control whenever the park comes online, this would be the most difficult by far, but could result in you succeeding where Hammond failed, and being provide the permits required to expand the initial park, essentially unlocking a what if scenario where Jurassic Park expanded and developed to the same levels as Jurassic world.
Additionally returning to the park building aspect the game would become harder as you then also have to manage the different divisions, and market the park in an attempt to downplay or overcome the backlash from the sabotage, and if you fail you could end up in the same if not a similar situation which continuously gets worse as you add more, and more dangerous dinosaurs to the parks.
You could make things easier for yourself by adding caches and vehicle stops around the park, however they would also have a backlash on your appeal and thus income as you're trying to claim your park is safe and the response is essentially "Well then why do you need so much survival equipment laying literally everywhere"
This would also open the way for future dlc to the game to include similar gamemodes and what if scenarios with other moments throughout the franchise, like what if the events of Dominion occurred in Sandiego, and the city became overrun. Causing the events of the dlc being you taking the role of an emergency service in the area trying to locate and control the population of dinosaurs in the city and beyond its borders.

Additionally if you wanted a multiplayer version of this that would also be simple, having it be a vs gamemode where your friend plays as one of the dinosaurs in the park though you're not aware of which one , their goal is to essentially ruin the park while you're trying to keep it afloat and they can switch between and modify the genetics of dinosaurs in order to offset your progress.
That's a really simple and easy to implement idea for a multiplayer gamemode in a park builder.
It would be similar to the dinosaur player playing the sharks in depth while you're trying to keep things afloat.
Additionally expanding the creatures for the lagoon and aviary, and creating maps placed in mountains, or in wetlands where these creatures are the only things you can use for your park could increase difficulty in the base game, create a new experience for players, make a reason for people to pick up the third game and in a multiplayer setting like this create a ton of fun hijinks. Like your friend player a pterosaur, getting out of their cage and carrying your head researcher away before they can start their next project.

NGL the LEGO game is for me the most complete Jurassic game we've ever got. It's the only one that plays through the films. If we can just get someone to make a live action high graphics version of that and add Fallen Kingdom (and Dominion if you have to) then it would easily be the best JP game of all time.

I always wanted to play as a person or worker in my park since the Genesis days, would love if the new Evolution game has this and some other next level ideas that can make it the best JP game ever. I really hope it gets something like a 1st/3rd person mode. It would be sick building an amazing park and then when a break out happens its boots on the ground and you can work with teams to get the dinosaurs back in their respective paddocks. Also the mission you described would be so sick to play as damn I want that in a JP game.

I'm not a fan of online but hear me out
You can build a park AND choose how and when things will go wrong. You can post your park online, like a "map"
And then other people can go online and play YOUR park to try and escape it.
Personally I might not ever build a park, I'd log on and select "trending" park or "most difficult" or whatever and just play other people's parks all the time.
Others might like to build parks. But I'm thinking like, racing games such as dirt 5 where they have a track builder that others can pick to race on and then the stats are posted.

  • @ninjaboy360
    @ninjaboy360 6 месяцев назад

I would love all a game where you could build the park and then survive in it.
I would even love a game where guests aren't just a physical representation of stats and are actual individuals with wants and needs like the games of old. I would settle for being able to take control of guests and being able to snap photos and run around getting into vehicles or being eaten by dinos.
What I think we will actually get it is slightly better mechanics that are already in place. Better hunting, building tools, rides, pack behavior. I doubt we get anything substantially different, but I hope to be proved wrong.

To be fair, Frontier specializes in park management games, they're pretty good at it too. I really doubt there will be any kind of first person survival mode, but it would be a neat little surprise. Besides, we're getting JP survival so you'll get your fix there anyway. I for one am excited for another one, although it would be pretty cool if they fixed JWE2 up a little better before they stop supporting it.

who ever played the peter jacksons king kong game back in the day? what if it was a jurassic ip and you play as a merc shooting dinos and then you can switch between the main character and the dinosaurs
just picture the scene its a cutscene of a random visitor at the gyro sphere valley all the gryo sprehes are being called in and then all of a sudden the herd of dinosaurs start to get startled the apatasaurs start to stand up from the resting position the trikes start to form a defensive circle parasaurs start to get spooked and then all of a sudden you see the head of the indominus poking over the fence with blood dripping off its mouth after killing the anky you then get to play as the indominus where you have to kill trikes and apatasaurs to progress or if you are playing as a merc you have to do a escort where pteras and dimorphs try and kill the people your trying to protect. so many ideas thats not a park builder thats there but they go with the park builder cause they know they cant mess it up if its a park builder

Every world anyone has every thought of possible for a jurassic park movie or game will be explored over the next 30 years, lots of it in realtime photrealism. Amazing.

Frontier are fresh out of bad investments and firing people, they're not taking risks for a while.
They did experiment with the photo challenge in JWE2, so other short form challenges might be a thing, as might first person gameplay, but it's not likely to be a significant amount, and I've doubts on how well they'd implement it.

I think that it would be cool if we got a game that is a successor to Warpath Jurassic Park. The game could be centered around the dinosaur black market that was set up in Dominion with you buying dinosaurs from the black market to then fight against ai in addition to there being a multiplayer mode where you pit your dinosaurs against other players’ dinosaurs. The arenas you will be fighting in would be mostly located in 2nd or 3rd world countries where you would expect that the governments there wouldn’t be able to deal with such illegal behavior. The dinosaurs in this game would be mostly mid or large herbivores like hadrosaurs, ceratopsians, ankylosaurs, or stegosaurs, and mid or large carnivores.

Ive also been blessed since 03, playing, Op Genesis, so these modern evolution games come off as very linear minded re-skin updates; Not so much a game expressing any real leaps forward, truly utilizing the fully fleshed out upgrade potential, that the prior games made right.

In all honesty I would really just love a modern take on Trespasser. Maybe with a few more survival elements in it, but overall a modernized Trespasser would probably blow a lot of the younger fans away. I mean I know when I got the game, it was WELL after release and it blew me away. I ordered it off of Amazon and the previous owner left a really cool note for me in and said it was going to be the best Jurassic Park game I would play. As broken as Trespasser was/is, I gotta say they were right. Nothing else captured that feeling of being alone on this island, this "Lost World" as they called it in the films. It was an adventure that deserves a second chance, and maybe the new survival game will give us a little of it, but IMO Trespasser deserves it's time to shine as a remake.

it would be cool to have 2 player. just one person managing the park and another person doing ground work. It's boring doing some of the stuff but it would be cool if you could just co-op down and wrangle some dinos who ain't up to no good. Build up the park in one of those big sandbox modes, sure a lot gets automated but sometimes a dino gets hurt and now you're stopping to manage the dino. would be cool to have someone else just to mess around with.
