There was also the Ipod nano I think too. I pod touch was basically an Iphone but you couldnt make calls, and I think it was mainly for kids their parents didnt want talking to people they didnt know. (even though it could go on the web)
Not mainly for kids, all ages owned it, as it was really solely for listening music without disturbing the phone's battery & data space. It enabled everyone even those less gadgets savvy to access music online easily. The era when getting stuff from app stores weren't common.
@@owitch the touch was def more for the kids because it was literally the size of an iphone but the inability to call, like u can play games and surf the web on them, thats why it was called the ipod touch, the ones the people used for music were the ipod shuffle and nano which looked more like a mp3
I used to have ipod touch when i was maybe 8 or 9 but i never saw the ipod irl before only in internet, as for MD player.. i didnt know that was a thing until they mentioned it and i had to look it up

never have an ipod because back in the day even mp3 player got confiscated in my school
