@@heresyourproblem9939 Neil Druckmann said the game would run well on Steam Deck. The fact that it doesn't is pretty embarassing as there's little reason to trust what the man says anymore.
I just built a new pc with a Ryzen 5 7600x, an rx 6750xt, and 32 GB ram and I get pretty bad stuttering and frame drops in certain areas of the game even on low graphics settings. I should be able to easily play on high settings and get 100+ frames. This game needs a lot of optimization work for sure.
Unplayable for me even with the latest patch, my specs 3090 - Ryzen 5700g. Even with the shader compilation it stutters literally every time i move the camera, both on high and low settings no matter what resolution. It also crashes like all the time and fails to even start with DLSS. I feel disapointed but i think it will get fixed in time, could be in 3 weeks or 3 months from now. I can wait i guess.
I’m playing with a 3090, 5950 and 32gb. 4k, DLSS quality and everything at Max. FPS capped at 60. Shaders took 20 min, no bugs or crashes in about 10 hours. Game did hitch every 10 min or so for first couple of days but since the patches I have no more stutter, it’s smooth. I’ve no doubt it’s crap for lots of peeps but it really seems to be a lottery with most peeps losing.
there's an option in the game I don't remember where exactly (raw mouse input) that's turned on by default, try to disable it, that really helped me with the horrible mouse jittering, still there but happens way less often. still unable to play the game because I'm constantly crashing every 3~15 minutes, even lowering the settings, turning off dlss, capping framerate, I'm usually running at 75+ plus on my 3060ti, 90+ with dlss, little stuttering here and there going to a new place or something, then suddenly it freezes, and bam, crash.
I've played and benchmarked this game in a few different combinations of hardware that I own. Having gone through the shader caching process a few times I found out it takes a lot longer if you minimize the game and do something else like watch RUclips videos for example, or begin playing the game. It's best to just let it do it's thing and will be dependent on your CPU capabilities.
Pretty standard release these days for most games.. they expect people to pay 60-80 for them but all you get is a bearly out of beta game to waste your time and piss you off. These companies need to be held to account better than they are. Gamers are too willing to part with cash these days.. get an immediate refund on these things when this crap starts. Don't buy the games until they are actually ready for use.. these companies will never change
I know everyone with brand new high end PC is saying how great this game is but most people don't upgrade their computers every year or two so please spare a thought for us. If you have an old CPU like me don't buy this game, my CPU was at 100% load almost all the time while playing this game and it stuttered badly. Even though I have 10gb vram I have to set the graphics settings to medium to play it relatively lag free. All other new releases play smoothly on Ultra graphics settingsbut not this game. My specs: RTX 3080 Core i7 8700 16gb ram
I don’t get your struggles.. I have a 7700k i7 RTX 2060s 16gb ram 3200mhz and I’m playing 45-60fps depending on what’s going on on the screen. Your cpu is at 100% load because you probably didn’t allow the ridiculous hour and a half load time on the shader cache and this is what is causing your cpu bottle neck most likely. Because I’m fine on lesser hardware.
You may also benefit from uninstalling deleting the $appdata$ folder for the game and reinstalling it because it sounds like you are experiencing memory leak on RAM. This has been happening to some people and it’s trying to use upwards of 20-30gb of ram which is ridiculous & is a fault in the games coding

On that note, the devs made an EXCEPTIONAL pc port when it works and when you see my livestreams you'll see what i mean. I feel the devs will fix things up overall soon so you all too can also enjoy this masterpiece with the pc bells an whistles included which look simply nothing short of stunning, and i totally don't even game on 4k...so take that as you will as it is a definite step up from console on the PC in my honest opinion.
@dudeguy hey....this is my very 1st playthrough of the last of us and i am having a thrill with it. So i'm just saying, it is a great pc port when it works well (i'm very fortunate enough to be one of the lucky pc players the game actually works with) The game has literally NEVER CRASHED for me........ so take that as you will, but i do see the frustration really which is why i gave the offer for others to watch me when i go live :D
@dudeguy thx, although i feel i will be brining out a video as to why many steam users are having trouble running the game...it may be a problem with steam itself tbh. Stay tuned as although it may not be the smoothest port..but it is capabale of running at 60fps or damn near it at 1080p or 1440p. Anyone with an rtx series card or above should be able to run this title on at least high/ultra 1080p 60fps with no issues. I've heard ppl with rtx 40 series that cant run this game...thats insane. So as i totally said earlier i see the frustration but im sure devs will fix it overall as again..its a beyond exceptional game really.
I know the game runs badly for most people, but I have only one crash and some weird locked at 60 FPS, but after restarting the game I beat the game with little issues. I did have a lot of issues with the steam deck though. Had it crash twice before it loaded. Then when loading a in engine cutscene it crashed the whole deck. I do have a high end PC PC spec: Windows 11, 5800x3d, 32gb ram 3400mgz, RTX 4080, 3840x1600 lg 175hz monitor. It ran anywhere around 75-150FPS with DLSS at balanced.
I have an 11gb GTX 1080Ti and I9 9900KF. Game runs smooth on high settings and I didnt experience any of the problems most have reported. I was suprised when I switched the frame counter on to see I was only averaging 45 FPS as it felt much smoother. Setting FSR to quality took frame rates to over 60fps without any obvious graphical problems. One thing that surprises me is Iron Galaxy did the port for Uncharted 4 a few months earlier and that ran twice the speed on what is probably the same engine?
R5 5600 32GB 3000Mhz ram and RX 6600 8GB I managed to mix Ultra/High/low graphics, it took me about hour to find correct settings, game runs in between 60-90 FPS and sometimes drops to 50 fps when there is lot going on, fire, water etc. but so far I can say that 8GB cards are capable to run it easily over 60FPS, and RX 6600 is not best 8GB card out there either.
Ryzen 7700x + RX 7900 xtx -> flawless 4k native at 60-80fps. With quality FSR it averages over 90-100. I had no issues at all. Completing second HARD+ playthru. Shader compilation is not a big deal. When I started the game it took 4-5 minutes to compile shaders for the first chapter. And rest of the shaders were compiling while I was playing the game in the background. I had occasional "Please wait" when it didn't have the shaders for the next scene but it was 20-30 seconds at most.
I would say many have too much obsession over games having good graphics. There's nothing wrong with good gameplay AND graphics. Expect more , demand more
I don't know if I did something right but I just want to say I have had very little issue so far. I7 12th 3060 mobile and everything set to medium. I installed at .6 fix and let the shader compile. I had also replaced that file for the memory leak fix from nexus And it still looks baller like wtf
Because of low video memory I suppose, cuz I have 16GB of ram and desktop RTX 3060 12GB and I m playing at ultra 4k DLSS performance and getting about 40 to 45 average fps and I could have gotten more if not for my Ryzen 5 3600 and 16Gb of ram limiting the RTX 3060.
Doesn't matter. I can only see a difference when I play games on a 20k 80 inch TV otherwise I don't know what the fuss is at all unless you are doing competitive gaming as a career. I already have difficulty seeing differences between PS4 and ps5 games on regular monitors and I don't understand how to see the improvements at all in pc games either as they are mostly play on very tiny pc monitors.
I just finished playing the PC version, which was my first time ever playing this game and it ran a lot better than I was expecting given all the bad performance reviews on Steam. Running on a 10700k, 32gb ram, M.2 HD and 3080ti, it did feel a little jittery at times but framerates were always around 60-100fps, averaging around 80fps I would say. The one thing I noticed was the game felt a lot smoother playing on a gamepad, but I'm a PC K&M trad so I played it that way which was more comfortable for me, but it felt a little more jittery with K&M. Regardless, game ran ok, never crashed, and I just finished it tonight and all I can say is wow, top 5 best games I've ever played. I did not expect it to be this good. I really hope they port part 2 to the PC too, with better performance hopefully
This is a weird one for sure because I feel the same way as you do. The game has been running extremely smooth for me in all my hardware which is higher end but still. The Steam reviews are not representative of how this game performs. Yes those issues exist but not in that scale imo. This games textures are of really high quality so the game is more vram demanding than most games so I can see people setting things to ultra or even high on 8GB cards and running into performance issues. Lastly the keyboard and mouse is true. The game feels stuttery even though it isn't when using a mouse to look around but is buttery smooth on a PS5 controller which is how I'm playing it.
@@TerraWare Yeah, I think we have to remember the majority of gamers aren't really running high end setups, so performance will vary. I tried playing on gamepad first but aiming is just so much easier and more fun on K&M without any aiming aids. Also the devs said they're releasing a patch this Tuesday to address the K&M jitters
@@Sassannid Right most people aren't running high end setups like us. I think the fact this game is so cpu intensive and vram demanding it's probably exposing inadequate cooling or people not keeping their software/drivers up to date, dirty pc's etc. As for the mouse and keyboard yeah Im not a fan of aiming with a controller, I prefer mouse. What helps with using a PS5 controller is you can enable motion aiming so you can use the controller to fine tweak your aiming which is what I've been doing. The way mouse felt in this game right now I just couldn't enjoy it lol.
Finished the game with GTX 1650 Low settings and High Textures with some medium settings, It was good and very playable for me although its weird that parts that looks the prettiest and looks intensive like the Snow Winter Area are the most optimized areas in the game compared to the non special areas in the game that doesn't look that good. It was a very good game but wish it would be optimized more over the months since I feel like Atomic Heart and RDR2 looks better than the game and should play better than those pc titles.
What's really sad is that a 1650 still costs more than a new ps5. Card companies need to get their shit together or they are going to kill the pc market even more than it already is
I played this game on Ryzen 5800, 32GB Ram and RTX 3090. Game ran in between 70-80 FPS at 4K Ultra, DLSS Quality. It only took 25 mins for shader cache build and didn't even crash once duringmy playthrough! For this game to run smoothly, you need minimum 12GB VRAM (16GB VRAM preferable), and 32GB RAM. That's it. If you don't have these 2, then don't buy on PC. Otherwise, it's the best way to experience this masterpiece.

This video is so weird! He keeps telling about how bad the game runs, but the video doesn't show that at all. I know it runs bad because I've seen other videos and I've seen the reviews. He should've shown the parts it's actually bad! And also the bugs... They are many
he only tells what he heard from others, he doesn't have his own opinion, copy paste! the game looks nice, works great, just as it should, works with all machines from the weakest to the strongest. it is not possible to play on ultra with the entry model of the card!
It's been said that users with 16gb or less of RAM are the one's experience a lions-share of the bugs, I don't know if it's true but it seems plausible as I've heard of a few people with +32gb of RAM playing the game with very little bugs. Who knows.
@@MrKeyframes hardware unboxed tested the game and seems most gpus actually ran OK. One thing though is vram seems important and the gpu he uses is 8gb so he needs to turn settings down but people want ultra that's heavy on vram lol. There's definitely work to be done on the game but it's not as bad as people make out, once the dust has settled. More media backlash over this than cyberpunk lol
@@remnever2 Digital Foundry's video on RE4 Remake already proved that people didn't do thorough testing on the VRAM usage of RE4. It has a bug when using ray-tracing that they need to fix, but if you aren't using ray-tracing you can crank up everything to max (even textures to 8GBs) on a card with 8Gbs of VRAM. Another note Alex made is that textures work differently when ray-tracing is enabled, 3 GBs load higher textures than when ray-tracing is disabled.
I have been able to run the game on 1440p, high settings and dlss enabled (balanced) and obtain an average fps of 60. This is using a 3060 and 5800x. so I am perplexed to hear why some gamers with much better rigs have such trouble. Alas i am not complaining, I am appreciative that I have been able to experience this awesome game for the first time.
@@Butters3982 Hahaha... Chill out and let me explain the joke. A 3060 is holding stable while people are whining on 4080. I think people are just not compromising to get a stable result on an unoptimize game.
I feel like it varies with everybody because on my system besides a few stutters here and there the game has ran smooth for me. Im playing 1440p with a rtx 3090. I have my frames capped at 60 which gives me a smooth experience. I love this game so far!
@@fahimalvi9521 right. I mean my experience of it so far has been amazing like I said besides a few stutters here and there. In my opinion you can’t always expect a triple A game like that to drop with no problems. Every game isn’t the same. Especially when it comes to pc gaming. You have so many people with different system specs there’s no way everyone is gonna have the same experience. But if you have a decent system you should be ok. It may be time for a upgrade to others
r5 3500 is to weak for 3060ti in this game and in my opinion to weak for that gpu in general. My 5700x overclocked was struggling to max 3060ti, after latest patch it does the job. Laptop 5800h is not enough for 3060 in my laptop.. Lots of cpu power needed for this game but once its has it it runs quite good. Sort your rig before judging games like this one, no reason not to do it with current prices..

I was incredibly disappointed in this game. I purchased it on day one and got a refund on day one. I was really excited to play it too, and had been waiting for months. It is atrociously optimized and they should be ashamed of themselves charging people £49.99 for such a rubbish PC port. They could of done it properly, but they rushed it and f’d it up. I will probably pick it up on sale in about a year’s time:
It’s hilarious they put Microsoft Windows instead of PC Review. Almost as if they want to associate this dumpster fire with Microsoft instead of PlayStation who is really responsible for this awful port. 🤦🏻47 second mark.
Just started playing on a very average PC, other than the occasional dip in frame rate I haven’t had any issues. My one complaint is the occasional ability you had in the original to interact with the environment (you could move cardboard boxes and traffic cones etc), especially in the early parts of the game. These small things added a little more realism to the game, in the PC port they’ve been removed completely. Small gripe I know especially in comparison to the major issues many are experiencing but thought I’d mention it.
@@Jacksirrom very true, however just noticed some things do move later on in the game. Was just something I noticed when I first started playing the PC version, I used to see how far I could kick the boxes outside Joel and Tess’s hideout up the stairs and along the corridor lol
Mine didn't drop below 59fps playing the game on the cut scenes it would go up to over 100 and I only had 1 crash going from the sniper part in the house to the cut scene
How about loading times? Mine keeps loading the rest of the environment every 10 minutes. I have to watch "please wait" for at least 2 minutes for it to finish... And yes, I let the shaders to compile completely
Reviewer played the game on Ryzen 3500 that's a lower CPU than PS5 🤡 this is a CPU heavy port just like Spiderman should be running at least a 3700x in the PS5. Shader cache times have already been patched in 1.05 we are now on 1.06... at launch it had issues with crashing when using DLSS or FSR. Dead Space "runs relatively well" it has major Traversal stutter this does not.
I want to play this game with max settings on my 4090 so bad but I can't see buying another stutter fest of a game. I heard the game is a mess. Unfortunately, it seems like most games that drop aren't optimized. With all the delays in the last 2 years these games should be coming out damn near perfect.
I can imagine the problem for this game is that it will have three generations of console code in it that now needs to be adapted to the varied hardware architecture of PC gaming when there was no consideration in the original development to port it to PC. Oh well, the mods will fix it, I guess ;)
Consoles also have bad ports just look at last year Gotham Knights you only can run that thing in 30 fps and not even stable 30. Cyberpunk also took a while to get fixed are you forgetting that Sony removed the game from the store for while.
@@brionymaste9481 yeah but those games are also optimized for 1 system configuration on a custom OS. It's not easy to port games, and the company that ported it is known for putting out broken garbage.

Hopefully from software don't do the remake. They can't make a stable framerate in any game. Bloodbournes fps that bad I couldn't play. Stutters constantly
Mmmmmk. I stayed away from this title on PS4 and now PC because of the formulaic premise. Now I know why. I watched the HBO "Last of Us" with wonderful Pedro Pascal--and thought...well...try the game. I literally finished this game in 3 days, not even marathoning. It's awful. AWFUL. If I wanted to watch a pre-rendered movie called "Last of Us" with a teensy bit of first person shooter---OH YEAH---that's this "game". Linear. No actual decision making capability--you don't have any control over when something happens, why, your reaction to it--where different outcomes are possible (besides...DEATH). It's AWFUL. Besides the 4 times it crashed on my RTX3090, the story is....gah. Just...gah. Someone said in some comment I read..."did this game change you?" Uh....why would a game, that basically shows EVERYONE in the apocalypse being an evil arsehole---change me? Because the Dad guy finally stopped being a jerk and started to like the kid girl? Whatever. It's a first person shooter, dressed up with HOURS of monotonous pre-rendered "cinematics". UGH. If you want real decision making, ability to control what you do and when, with real attachments to the characters and their outcomes? MASS EFFECT. This game didn't "change" me---it confirmed for me that people want the hollywoodized ending and to be led through anything difficult. If I wanted to watch a MOVIE, I would go DO THAT. This was AWFUL.
this is a graphical remake, you are still playing gameplay from 2013, and if it's easy for you, then guess what, you can change difficulty. are you really comparing the graphics of dead space with part 1?? if you dont like shaders you dont like quality 🙄.
The gameplay in the original didn't get the credit or deserved. As of today's standards, the game does not play well. Not even bothering putting in the new mechanics from the atrocious second game was just lazy. This version and the one on ps5 have no right existing at all
It’s funny, y’all keep talking about the best place to play, but you have to go other places to find the games!!! all the power and no games! Stop talking shit and give Sony and their developers the props. To be honest, y’all are not really game fans .a true game fan will play a masterpiece of a game on any game console or computer!

The mouse is NOT a gaming interface. It's for work !!! Built in the same way you don't spoon soup with a knife! Yes yes... sure... it's poorly ported 😂😂😂

If you were expecting to Not have to upgrade to more (At Least as much..) VRAM of a 2 &1/2 year old consoles (16Gb) then you're delusional. I saw One crash in 30+hrs of gameplay. So, people need to get their reality in check. If you're still rocking 8Gb VRAM sans 2013 OG XB1/PS4 style, you're gonna be in for a RUFF CURRENT-GEN TRANSITION ON PC. Same if you don't have an NVMe SSD, 3700X equivalent or higher CPU and 32Gb ram. You've Always needed more resources on PC than a completely optimized for a single piece of hardware console port. Amazing game; especially at ultra 4k/60. Highly recommend; as long as your expectations and system specs are in line with reality.

Nah, performance is a big deal. If the port runs poorly on hardware that should run it easily, the score should be dropped down until it is fixed. A 5/10 seems fair when this will likely go down as one of the worst PC ports ever seen.

No way, RX 7900 XTX managed to run game smoothly ? you must be joking
Gaming industry has an unhealthy obsession with graphic. I would have enjoyed the game even if they just port the original game
Completely agree. Graphics rarely wow me nowadays. Unique art direction is much more likely to win me over.
I would say many have too much obsession over games having good graphics. There's nothing wrong with good gameplay AND graphics. Expect more , demand more
I don't know if I did something right but I just want to say I have had very little issue so far.

How did the mouse camera stutter not bother you? I can see it in the gameplay :D
I have the exact same hardware as you and it runs great!
@@Sassannid part 2 is dogshit and ruins the 1st game
Finished the game with GTX 1650 Low settings and High Textures with some medium settings, It was good and very playable for me although its weird that parts that looks the prettiest and looks intensive like the Snow Winter Area are the most optimized areas in the game compared to the non special areas in the game that doesn't look that good. It was a very good game but wish it would be optimized more over the months since I feel like Atomic Heart and RDR2 looks better than the game and should play better than those pc titles.
What's really sad is that a 1650 still costs more than a new ps5. Card companies need to get their shit together or they are going to kill the pc market even more than it already is
so GTX 1650 can still run the game?
Other gaming outlet dont even dare to review the game at all , kudos to you guys
I have seen 14.5GB VRAM usage and upto 21GB RAM usage on my playthrough at 4k Ultra. Game wasn't too CPU heavy like Spider-Man.

Last of us part 1 on PC is (controls apart) by far the best way to play any last of us.
It's awesome (a number of patches and shader comps later)
Just started playing on a very average PC, other than the occasional dip in frame rate I haven’t had any issues. My one complaint is the occasional ability you had in the original to interact with the environment (you could move cardboard boxes and traffic cones etc), especially in the early parts of the game. These small things added a little more realism to the game, in the PC port they’ve been removed completely. Small gripe I know especially in comparison to the major issues many are experiencing but thought I’d mention it.

It's awful. AWFUL. If I wanted to watch a pre-rendered movie called "Last of Us" with a teensy bit of first person shooter---OH YEAH---that's this "game". Linear. Besides the 4 times it crashed on my RTX3090, the story is....gah. Just...gah. Someone said in some comment I read..."did this game change you?"
Uh....why would a game, that basically shows EVERYONE in the apocalypse being an evil arsehole---change me? Because the Dad guy finally stopped being a jerk and started to like the kid girl? Whatever. It's a first person shooter, dressed up with HOURS of monotonous pre-rendered "cinematics". UGH.
If you want real decision making, ability to control what you do and when, with real attachments to the characters and their outcomes? MASS EFFECT.
This game didn't "change" me---it confirmed for me that people want the hollywoodized ending and to be led through anything difficult. If I wanted to watch a MOVIE, I would go DO THAT. This was AWFUL.
