Tempo = 80 BPM
I - VI7 - IIm7 - V7
II: G I E7 I Am7 I D7 :II
You will hear extended versions of these basic chords on the track... as is common in jazz of course :)
In theory, you can play G major scale over all the chords, except the E7 where you'd switch to A harmonic minor.
Scales:
G major - G A B C D E F#
A harmonic minor - A B C D E F G#
Playing G major scale will result in G ionian (G chords), A dorian (Am7 chords) and D mixolydian (D7 chords) - all the same 7 notes...
NOTE: It's only a two note difference between G major scale and A harmonic minor scale - as the G becomes G# and F# becomes F - the rest of the 7 notes stay the same.... easy!!
You can also use G major pentatonic scale - G A B D E
(you could think good old E minor pentatonic as it's the same 5 notes!)
Next up, I'd recommend trying out some more advanced colours on the dominant chord (D7/D13) by using the
D diminished 1/2-1 tone scale - D Eb F F# G# A B C
and D altered (superlocrian) scale - D Eb F F# Ab Bb C
And you can also try out the altered scale on E7!
E altered scale - E F G G# Bb C D
Arpeggios:
(G arpeggio = G B D)
Gmaj7 arpeggio = G B D F#
E7 arpeggio = E G# B D
Am7 arpeggio = A C E G
D7 arpeggio = D F# A C

I always come back to these type of tracks, you could just get lost jamming over these chords for hours
So good to hear man! Happy jamming 🙌
I agree, they are great. But there’s no way to get lost in these chord tracks being it’s only a circle I - VI - ii - V progression, very clear to follow 😉😉
Just giving ya a hard time, happy jamming and keep getting lost!

The tricky thing for me is to use the 10 minutes strategically and still retain an overall sense of uncertainty
My Altered and H.M. scales are weak, weak, weak... it's like speaking... French or something, or some other language I've yet to learn...
