Saw these guys in Boston may 2nd really enjoyed them alot. Luckily for the ones who saw this show because the sound tech for Boston sucked. Couldn't hear the drums that well or vocals. Skeletonwitch sounded great but these guys got screwed. Still enjoyed the set anyway. These guys shred. Come back to Boston.
I saw an Interview in which they said that they started jamming as a three-piece and didn't feel like there was something missing so they decided not to add a bassplayer! I personally like that they don't have a bass because i think it makes them sound even more bleak and cold than they already do, which is very fitting for black metal in my opinion, but i can understand that some people are missing the bass and therefore don't like the sound
They don't have bassist BUT they split the signal in two ways (both guitars). One is going like a normal guitar to a guitar amp and 412 cab. The other signal goes via octave -1 pedal and then to bass cabinet 810. So there is bass but it's muddy, loose and all over the place because of tremolo picking. They disable the bass signal on clean parts. And distortion is taken via Providence Stampede DT. Really hard to get these pedals. Was talking to them after the gig three years ago.
The audio is peaking, and from time to time there's some weird noises. Apart from that, pretty cool performance.

why don't they have bass? it really feels like they're missing something because of it imo :/

You cant shred on bass like on a guitar-mower?! ^^
Unfortunately a lot of black metal bands don’t really put a lot of emphasis on bass, at least not the ones that I’ve heard
