    I love how you just look at other DJs and their techniques without hating on anyone for being popular. Just pointing out what they're doing and how they're doing it without judgment is such a breath of fresh air in the often toxic online world. I don't even like DV&LM but I'd rather see what I can learn from them than hear yet another bitter DJ ranting about how things used to be better (they weren't. I was there.).

      The REV1 is soooo much fun. It does kinda feel like im re-learning "the craft" again though. This DOES have a slight vinyl feel to me on this controller, which is nice. I'm use to 2 Techs, needles, a mixer, and headphones. Nothing digital, so this is a new world for me. Your videos are really helping this old dj fart, learn new tricks. lol!

It was all Snap Cameras, Paper flyers, and Hotline Numbers to find all the fun raves. Nothing was mainstream yet. Your vinyl collection was SPECIAL and great tracks were actually Rare-to-find. Mine we're so damn expensive, because I ordered my tunes from the UK.

    Besides the harmonics T it is fair to say that jumping to the right e. g. four numbers in the same minor (A) or major (B) scale can also bring some pretty good mixes. Doesn't work always but sometime interesting effects and is still harmonic.

    Agree about mixing in key, BUT FOR ME it gets boring quit fast! :) Talkin bout this dj duo, I always thought that they need different style of setup otherwise it looks like they are in the way of each other. Great stuff, Thanks.

    • @eyespy3001
      @eyespy3001 2 года назад +1

      Mixing in key is definitely boring. It’s fine for a few tracks in a set, but keeping your set entirely in key is like eating French fries with a side of French fries and a dipping sauce made out of potatoes. Listen to any vinyl DJ worth their salt and you’ll hear how NOT mixing in key can be even more enjoyable. There’s no mixing in key with records.

    • @djcarlo

    • @anythingoriginal
      @anythingoriginal 2 года назад

      For sure. Would have to be a soulmate type thing to really work. Most DJ/producers aren’t even performing on the fly sets though. They practice the exact same set for weeks or months then your doing the exact same thing over and over nightly. Where many professional DJ’s can read a crowd and change it up. Some of the producer/DJ’s might change 1 track per town to make it feel like it’s not just a routine.

    but for those who are not DJ's: NO, nobody asked for two DJ's on top if each other mixing on the same equipment. It's theatrics that are totally unnecessary and it does not improve on the experience that one single pair of hands can deliver at a high level of performance. Unless they are working on separate equipment, keyboards, samplers, etc, then please just stay in the studio.

    • @djcarlo
