Times have changed some. When I got off the boat to go home they nosed into the bank south of Caruthersville and I at least got picked up by the crummy that took me to Memphis Airport. Air fare was 25 bucks and change to Fort Smith and that left me with a quarter. I got home and the family had gone on vacation! So I hitched home. I've enjoyed many of your videos. They bring back memories of more than 40 years ago when I decked on the Mississippi and Arkansas. I decked on the first non-crane barge / construction tow into Catoosa. The high water at L&D 12 reminded me of the night sometime in 1973 that the outdraft at L&D 13 put 7 on the upstream face of the dam. Happened again about 20 years later. I hated coming down on the railroad bridge at Little Rock. The sobs could always find an excuse to lower the bridge. There have been a lot of close calls coming down the chute there in high water and even not so high.
I love the endless American suburbs. They're beautiful! And just imagine, this is a "medium" or "small" U.S. city to some people. Our Large cities have even bigger, wealthier, and nicer suburbs!
Kyle, great shot of a descent thru an undercast. Nice work! Thanks!
One of my favorites.
