- The Pine64 microcomputer recently featured and funded on Kickstarter finally arrived. I was first expecting it to arrive in late may, so it arriving in late April was all the better. The team did a very good job at getting the chips and boards ready, with only a few weeks of delay in general. This video will unbox the pine64 and take a first look at what the microcontroller actually is and can do. Further videos to come on the Pine 64 so stay tuned! Since it only draws 2,5 watts I think i will used it to make a completely solar powered computer/tablet - would be awesome!

Thanks for the video, I ordered the video set from Kickstarter, They should have mailed it to me this week according to their most recent Email. I'm excited about it. I appreciate your preview.
Awesome! I'm also very excited about the board, and can't wait to start doing something with it. I just need to decide on what and order the parts 😅
The button can be use for power or for reset. The button is placed near the USB slots or below where you placed the wifi mod. I put mine for power on mode instead of reset. Good review.
Ah thank you! I was wondering where to place it.
+MultiCopterBuild no problem my friend :D
these boards supposed to be clean
Hi, mine should arrived tomorrow, 2GB version. With all the negative feedback I've just read, I think I'll be content if I can just make a decent MBC out of it. DO you know the most reliable OS/install method to use?
I used Remix OS because it looked the most like a normal desktop computer OS pretty much like windows 10 actually.
Instal:
Well for me, I used an application called etcher.
All you need to do is download the OS and Extract the image (operating system) (this takes a long time)
get the os from here: wiki.pine64.org/index.php/Pine_A64_Software_Release
Then choose the right size type for your microSD.
Then once extracted, which you could use like win-rar or something (google it)
open etcher and insert the microSD, select the OS from the app and click flash/start. That simple.
I think i'm late sorry.
I havn't actually been working on it yet (have been quite busy with university and exams lately, and I have some other reviews and videos coming up first. But I was initially planning on trying to make my own solar powered laptop/tablet running an android OS.
AHH do not touch the components in the middle. try not to touch anything other than sides and ports.
I live in an area where there is very limited static electricity and I have never experienced any micro controller break no matter where I touch it. But i will definitely keep it in mind! Thanks for watching!
