That's rough. Hopefully you can still use the holder even with that chip. I have no idea how expensive bits and holders are though.

One of those is around $20;on ebay I wold think and probably $80 from Sumitomo. I will most likely replace it with one from ebay

My saw guy is too dumb to mark long or end pieces for me.
Unfortunately my saw guy is me.
I'm glad to see it didn't start off with a facing cut!

Hi Kevin, and starting with a facing cut is something I do quite often! Thanks for being a regular in the comments section

    RIP to the insert
Leaving the long end pieces with the rest seems like bad practice. Ought to be cut to length or put with the other leftovers

Hello Olly, yes somedays make you wonder why you bothered. On the bright side I am getting 4 videos out of making the one part!

That would be disappointing. Do you have your tool holders cross drilled to hold them in the tool changer?
If so, how do you go about drilling them?

I do have some of them cross drilled, I just take it slowly with a standard drill with lubricant.. Apart from that Sumitomo 2.0 parting tool. That was a night mare. I usually shorten the shanks with a hacksaw, that needed the angle grinder. Drilling it was not nice.

Dont worry , everyone has their moments , and im sure someone will steal your footage and upload it with a compilation of other crashes that have been stolen from others , lol.

Hello, how are you, not seen anything from you lately, been busy?
I think my crashes are hardly spectacular enough for anyone to pinch. Not like those when things get red hot. LOL

@@smallcnclathes hey , yeah all good , always busy , just haven't done anything that I'd consider to be much interest , I don't think people would get to excited about watching me feed a bale of hay to sheep , haha.

I think you are nuts, go for it with the bale of hay to the sheep, thank me when it goes viral. LOL Seriously though lots of folks would not have seen that, just pretend your sheep have names and it will be your best ever video!
