- LumiLor is a spray on paint that illuminates in the dark. It's not LED light, nor is it glow-in-the-dark paint, but a special kind of paint that turns on and off by reacting to an electric charge. We dive into the characteristics of this bewildering material and meet Andy Zsenko of Darkside Scientific, Inc. who made it possible.

Implement this in ambulance vehicle
MORE LIKES!!!!! NEEDED
I think it would be better for unmarked Police
K not only is that a good idea from a practical approach, but u might have just pointed these guys towards a jackpot contract
Definitely see it happening in the future...
The bloody sirens and flashing lights aren't enough to tell you it's an ambulance? Stupid AF the ambulances dont need to do anything but start paying their people fair wages and stop making money on hurt people.
I would love to see all emergency vehicles painted with this. Image the entire vehicle flashing when they need to move.
that would be so cool
The best idea on the web for a long time !!!!!
At what expense?
Obviously this will turn gaming PC cases even more garish.
I already see the Civics driving around with this
You're right, I want it on mine
They wouldn't be able to afford it because the cost per area is 5 dollars per square inch. Plus, their old batteries wouldn't be able to light it up to its desired potential.
:(
@@abrahamg3354 It's $13.8888888889 per square inch or $2000 per square foot.
They're already drifting in Tokyo with this..
that lexus lighting effect should be programmed to light up in correspondence with the revs of the engine
I always wanted this but with a chainsaw attached to the hood
hahahahhahhahha pipe dreams funny yea
Oh so the cops can see when you take off
That is literally what they did doh 🤔
They just did the heartbeat of the driver for the main part of their own video
if this become compulsory as safety features like wipers and seatbelts this guy will be crazy rich for sure.
i doubt, he has no patent on technology its not his creation. Means anybody can do same stuff. its like he has patent on his paint brand like many others have patent on paint. than you go to store there is many different brands. it was invented long ago in some university, its simple electricity, physics science which does not belong to anybody.Means its not his creation. Means you can do same stuff and make same glowing paint. Its same as to say i invented electricity
Think this might be my all time favorite!
❤️🔥🔥💯
So much “motion” in the paint when you drive. Just WOW!!
Also, I’ve got to say, I just love how long you film the results. So many channels/shorts on varying topics will spend so much time talking the project then spend a tiny amount of time showing the results. I’ve literally taken screen shots on other channels just to have more time to look at and study the result. .....
YOU GUYS on the other hand allow us to just savor the results. THANK YOU!! 💯
Street signs, roads, walkways, crosswalks, curbs. I wonder how much power could be conserved using this instead of street lights.
It requires power. A street light illuminates the street. This has a mild glow. A street light that illuminates as little as this would require the same or less power.
We could just dim street lights down to conserve power but then they wouldnt serve their intended function; illumination. This paint's function is to look pretty. It wont light up a street
@@anitabonghit2758 and that theory is based on what? Maybe compared to LED street lights it might be somewhat true, equally street lights pump a lot of light into darkness....not necessarily where we need it....this however could give a very concise use of energy/light. It could help bring back the stars in cities....I'd dare say this paint would use an absolute fraction of the energy that a traditional streetlight would...most of a traditional streetlights energy would arguably be "wasted" as heat rather than light...moving to LED makes a huge difference, and this may well be magnitudes better. Can't imagine this would have much heat at all.
@@DavidS-wm9ud will it illuminate a deer on the road from 100 feet away while traviling at 80km/ph?
Hey, maybe your right? Maybe glowing cars will end pollution, bringbback the night sky, cure cancer and bring peace, ushering in a new paradise on earth were we all live for hundreds of years with no hunger, sickness, or pain, and we all live in harmony with nature and each other; smiling, holding hands and singing kumbaya
@@anitabonghit2758 That would have to be one of the most absurd replies I've read! Top prize, well done! If you bothered to read the rational/reasonable suggestions of the OP, rather than reacting because someone smoked you on logic/efficiency data, the world would indeed be a better place!! Street lights aren't just for "deer 100 feet away while traveling at 80km/ph", infact, most are in suburbia with speed limits little more than half that! If one were to be dumb enough to drive around without ones headlights on then there's no helping one anyway! Sounds to me like you've got shares in the power company, light company or are a politician trying to justify bad decisions with wild tangent ramblings!
Electric paint: EXIST
big companies commercials: *Its free real estate*
I feel like the Avenues of possibility are Limitless with this product thank you for adding more to the worlds creativity and possibilities
But how does it gets charged or gets it power from?
battery?
@@Smartercow I meant about the mechanism of charging.
@@prasoonpatel5338 And what do you mean by that?
By giving the electricity to the body of the car!
🙂✌️
by ejaculation
WOW
This is a whole new industry with thousands if not millions of applications.
Well done
This would be great for emergency vehicles. Actually probably not now I think about it. It would make unmarked cars look even more scary.
It can make the switch between marked and unmarked literally be a switch
Ricers are gonna love this!
This is awesome. Would love to see it in Emergency vehicles
It would be nice if you went into more of "how" it works, or AT LEAST provide a link to where we can get more info...
Since this has not gone viral despite how cool it is, there is a big setback this guy hasn't told us.
what is the big setback?
@@sanjayahlawat2826 He won't tell us. It's the big internet man's secret.
@@RapiDEraZeR There's at least five layers and a lot can go wrong. It's nothing special, you're just making an EL panel which technologically is 90 years old.
This is dope af!
One week later: *same technology found in China for a much cheaper price*
Ya but they legally won't be able to sell it in Western counties.
Ebay!
Seems delicate. Would a rock peck or door ding take out a door or fender? I see this evolving into something far more extreme than blinky paint if pixels can illustrate details that aren't actually there. Like cuttlefish camo or predator type of military grade tech for planes and ships.
wow what a beatiful way to give literally anyone an epilepsy on the street
Amazes me the beauty of human mind to create such innovation.
Absolutely brilliant 👍🏻😍
Man this is mind blowing
Ok but you're literally saying the same thing we get it it turns on by electric current and it's not paint BUT HOW DOES IT WORK
The paint is part of a circuit just like an led or light bulb
Honestly I'm looking at creating realism for airsoft products. Like the current is somewhat programable, so if you were to spray a red/orange on a fire simulating tracer unit you could have it glow brighter with each bb shot through and have a delayed "cool off" to simulate a barrel heat glowing.
Use orange strontium aluminate pigment and a ring of pulsed UV LEDs.
Sick! For Japanese cars it is awesome
the best about this, is the fact that it doesnt really shine (as in illuminate a distance object) but just glows!
That's awesome, probably soon many uses people will come up with.
This would make Car Advertisments way coller.
If this stuff goes on clear, you could do a lot of really interesting stuff with it. For example: You can make a car virtually invisible with a polished metal surface and appropriate angles. Then you could make it "visible" by activating this plaint.
There’s probably comments similar to this but, oh my god this might be good for illuminating the path the car is gonna turn for secondary indications
Just tell me if it’s available in Canada 🇨🇦
or will it be available in Canada any time soon
DDE needs this ASAP!
That's
*LIT*
Surprised this Tron like paint feature hasn’t caught on more.
Very nice discovery
Want to Paint my room.
It will look cool.
Finally tron arrives
This is going to go crazy
Wow this is cool, It would also be funny to write, race? in the LumiLor so you can switch it on and off.
Man i want some of that paint. 😮 thats awsome
Very cool
This would good for emergency door exits , when power goes out , emergency power can temporarily send a signal goes to the exit sign and the paint , over even in hall ways. There are many applications
0:30 you can use that if you want to give an epilepsy crisis to driver behind your car
amazing.. I need one !!!
Yooooo I need this for my car!!!!!
This is simply genius.
This is crazy and awesome....😱😱😱😳😳😳
Amazing tech 👌
I want this for my ceiling of my bedroom.
So cool.
That’s some next level tech
I would paint index lights for BMWs. :)
I need to get this on canvas
rely love this lumilor
I want to paint my corvette with this stuff!
Omg, with some more testing..we can now have amazing tattoos.
I would like a window tint that can be controlled. Go dark during the day and lighter at night
Does it work on body parts?
This would be perfect for public buses!
No it wouldn't. Buses have easily replaceable external panels because they get damaged so often. This would make each panel super expensive for no really clear benefit.
I want this so bad. Like lemme use lumilor paint on my phone. I'd obviously have this shit on my car too. Like so much possibilities. Have a cool car normal then boom even better
What would I paint with LumiLor? Everything. Absolutely everything.
Myself.😉
WOW Incredible really 👌🏻
You should use more footage :/
Also, Crew 2 must have taken inspiration from this XD
Lol they should paint the Commercial Trucks " Big Rigs" like that because at night some car drivers still say I didn't see the truck coming..
Amazing
The Lexus should be programmed to light up like a meter of how fast it's going.!!
I just want an ooga booga face to pop up on the front
It seems like it was already programmed to the tach
OMG that’s so cool
EVERYTHING...
How long does its life when used as active paint color/wrap for the whole car body?
Awesome excellent
That's cool
Of they use this to illuminate painted lines the roads at night would look pretty sweet. Welcome the the Tron future.
How long can it last ? Can you put a thick coat of clear on the top ?
I reckon a paint job that made a rat car/ sleeper cars paint change from old rusty looking crap to super sleek modern at the press of a button as it washes across the cars body would be awesome. Im sure that's not possible right now but 1 day I'm betting it will be . Like that glass that changes from clear to frosted
Man, this would have made Ed Roth have a screaming fit!!! Sooo nice, smart phone operated?
Luminar lighting was doing this a while ago.
Case-modding, Cosplay, and finally create a club looking like you are in Tron. This stuff is great!
What does it cost ? ... and how to connect it right ?
Could you see that "true flame" technique come alive with this
process?!?!
I’m not sure how long ago this was invented but I remember I had an idea about this back in 1998 when I found out about ferrofluid. I was thinking what would happen if you put a type of dye within the ferrofluid and put an electric current on it. Of course like many people I did not have the funds or way to start the project and here I am seeing other people become famous of an idea that I probably invented first.
Imagine all of Las Vegas.... knowing how hard light repairs are on the Vegas strip.... imagine all the lights never having to be replaced or burning out..... I could see this paint replacing light bulbs entirely.... apparently it's bright enough for fog ect but still this is just paint and I don't see LED lights going anywhere because they too last long.
It amazing how paint lights up.....if you told someone from the 70s your paint can light up.... yeah you would be the nut of the block
I want this now
Need a flame paint dang that will be awsome
I need this for my car
*That will fit so well on a Tesla*
Ok I'm sold on it
I wanna have a tattoo that lights up like that.
They have glow in the dark tattoos.
@@fortheloveofnoise9298 that ink sucks and doesnt last. The more you charge it and let it glow. The less it does. Overtime it will eventually stop glowing.
Man we are in the future
Can it be applied with a roller, i want to do my ceilings !
We need this paint as a car turn signal.
That’s just insane
They raided Area 51 without us :(
This guy is going to be richer than Bezos - if he made sure his idea is locked in... meaning no disclosure/ contest.
I wouldn't say it's that big of a necessity
When my Paint Costs more than My Car !!
This company has money written all over it this just feels like some type of tipping point I wanna invest in it as soon as possible
Wow, did it electrified someone who touch the car body?
Wouldn't the clear coat over it insulate it?
No because this isn't using watts or high power electricity, this is using 12 volt car batteries or even toy batteries. It all depends on how much power the area of emitting light needs. You can put both of your thumbs on each post of a car battery and nothing will happen. In fact everybody has touched metals in their cars interiors and no one has been shocked.
Ok RUclips 😠
I watched it now go awaaaaay
I literally been recommended this for weeks upon weeks
How much and where to get it done been asking around noone knows...
So is it available in mass production? If so where
