My friend & I had backstage passes to see CH in Nova Scotia in 1987 but he got sick & well, fans know the rest. Then in 2014 he was slated to play in Montreal so I booked flights, hotel & got great tickets. Even bought a Newfoundland flag to take with me to wave in the crowd. When hockey play-offs dictated a date change last minute, for many reasons, I was unable to attend the concert. Three years later he's playing right here in my home province so I once again got premium tickets. I had kept the flag & brought it to Atlanticfest to include with a gift for Corey (had a t-shirt made that says "My Newfoundland Caravan loves me" & had a bunch of fans sign it; Corey's manager even helped find other Caravan members to sign it! & came back to let me know Corey had in fact received everything). You'll see what happens when you watch the video, but earlier I had taken it out of the bag & waved it when Shanneyganock played "The Islander" - even got a wink n a grin from Chris Andrews when he saw the flag. So that's the story of the flag - it's been around!! These past few years have been so tough for me, no one will ever know how much this moment meant to me; almost as much as his music.
