One of those proper shred players that back in the day were a benchmark, that has evolved and become an all round melodic guitarist.Nothing but respect for these guys, my shred heroes from back in the days
Pauls one of those players that keeps growing. U can hear how hes been transcribing vocalists more and learning tons more vocal melodies on the guitar. Super nice cat too 💯
@oliverforty i think vai is getting old too but he can still do stuff like he did in his 80s and 90s. I can surely his change in his picking tecnique can affect a lot
@@debuhokontra2006Noticed his picking technique changed. Seems like he is not pick slanting as much anymore. Also using less gain, the slop comes through easier.
@Shreddah yes maybe some weakening issues or pain issues ive seen an interview that he prefer now a lower gauge string cause its more comfortable for his finger
His chordal melody stuff in this is so freaking great, his timing is absurd! Was never a huge fan (timing in life) but he’s really grown into an incredible player (much more musical) but still has the crazy chops!
For years, I thought that playing fast was the most impressive thing, but notice how the crowd start to cheer when he plays something slower and more melodic at 2:03
He is one of my favorite guitarists simply because it is clear that he mastered the basics before moving on to more sophisticated playing. As a result, other guitarists don't play as clean or their phrasing is amateur. NOT Paul Gilbert.
I was at that show. They were amazing as always. Hammerjacks was THE place to be back in the day to see great shows. And you usually got to meet them. I miss that place.
I love a lot of guitar players/musicians through my life but I really have to say that Paul Gilbert is in my top 5 ever! And I honestly don’t think anyone can play another guitarist song say VH as absolutely perfect like I’ve heard Paul Gilbert do. So good if blindfolded you wouldn’t be able to tell who was playing it. That is not easy and he makes it sound and look easy.

Love how his playing has changed over the years. Still love his Racer X stuff. Genuine fan of music. Cool guy.
Excellent player! Full of energy! And improvisation
The amazing Paul Gilbert
One of the best.
THANKS for sharing this Evan. Timing, intonation, tone, and execution = AWESOME!!!
Very warm sound
Love Paul. Awesome dude!!! Great playing here.
He plays right notes everytime ....awesome
dude sounds so good
The quality of his notes.. the older he gets, notes even gets better. Awesome 👏
Actually he is getting sloppier, he was more tight in 90s, i think it because how different he hold his pick now
@@debuhokontra2006 How OLD is he again?

Thanks Evan, and thanks Paul! Words can not resolve the prowess of his playing.
Evan, thanks for this ...Awesome man!

I love the Rocky theme
PG the guitar hero still 1 of my Fav shredders
Man he is better now. Hats off.
Paul never disappoints. He’s definitely one of the most creative players ON THE FLY.

Paul one of the best composers from the 80s shred era
Saw him with Mr Big back in the day. Hammerjacks!

Pablo Gilberto forever !!! ❤
Yo Adrian, he did it!
wow!
Did you hear him miss that note? Yeah, nether did I.
БРАВО!
He's the man alright!!
Istimewa.... 👍👍
i love the pattern by 2:32 at most :)
Paul's got some of the baddest shredding chops on the planet, but puts so much groove behind it....
Just Fuckin WOW!!!!
The way he holds a pick is very similar to Bucketheads.
I like the concept of paying homage to favorites from his writing. That kind of soloing I can really get behind, with as little show-off as possible.
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Nice Hockey Night in Canada bro
Wow, the Once-ler plays a pretty mean guitar
Bucket head was his student!
He's awesome...DAMN!!
"Ladies & Gentlemen, Mr. Paul Gilbert....."

The diversity in that solo! My favourite instrumental album is probably Paul's Fuzz Universe.
It's like Paganini is risen again and come from the past
I didn't know that Dana Carvey could play guitar so well
Where in patchogue was this at I use to live in Ronkonkoma

Extremely cool, but that F note was very sharp 😅

Yawn
Absolutely wonderful playing skills, but not a lot of melody .....
Nah this is pretty catchy
Bunch of nonsense
Looks more like a Mortician than guitar player.
his best was 30 yrs ago
No musicality in this whatsoever......
Overestimated and outdated player
I like him, but this sucked.
Бесконечное самолюбование. Наслаждение техникой. Музыка где ? Еще один Хендрикс с Петруччо.
ВЕЛИКИЙ ГИТАРИСТ !
Intentional stupidity.
It makes me wonder how Randy Rhoads would have fared had he lived and constantly evolved... Hendrix as well...
