All toys except for Little Daisy were broken when I bought them, repaired, and repaired again after the video. They are working fine now. The rabbit and dog had the original motor, I just fixed the brushes. Ape got a new motor, probably why it lasted so long. I do see value in these toys even though they were pretty cheap. They are very well made and have complex mechanics allowing them to switch behavior depending on the polarity of the motor
Wow i totally didn't expect the vintage toys to have metal mechanics and gears. That caught me by surprise. And reversing the polarity makes it do something different is so cool. It remids me if the old school whirlpool direct drive washers.
Being a toy, you got one job. Making those kids happy. Their enjoyment is a burden that you must carry throughout your whole existence. Just keep on dancing and dancing and dancing, no matter how many volts they put through you. You just keep dancing until you can't no more. Then you will be sent to a landfill site where you will dread your final moments alive before being crushed into thousands of tiny pieces.
And these kind of toys don't run on an IC chip which modern toys use for their programming. These motors run when on, and stop when off. They have no specific programming or resistor that items today would have, hence what explodes in modern items.
@@Stray_Spectre We commented before he made the pinned comment. And yeah, I saw that he replaced the motor, but that doesn't mean none of the gears have extra wear on them now.
I tried to get a cymbal monkey, but unfortunately I couldn't find one in my country or the EU for a reasonable price. Importing one from Japan or US would cost more in shipping than the toy itself. I'd love to have one, really cool/weird toy 🙂
I know they're not toys, but I wonder if you could overvolt a tape recorder or a record player? I myself don't like items being destroyed, but like to see and hear them run too fast, or even too slowly.
They don’t make ‘em like that anymore .. Chinese crap .. those toys were made to be used for many years .. I loved the baby at the end .. around 10v she was having a fit like a kid in the store not getting the toy she wanted…

Well, the mechanics and motor can easily be repaired, but most of the cheap China toys just have a "chip-on-board" as a control & audio circuit. So you'd have to replace it with whole new board and program new sound. Not worth it for most cheap toys

THANK GOD you repaired them! I thought they would just be broken forever! Thanks for seeing the value of them and fixing them after the video!

Great video! Imo Oopsie Epileptic Daisy is the best one.
You should really try giving Cosmo the robot, high-voltage electricity
i appreciate that you took the time to fix them after their torment
Me too

It goes to show just how well made these toys were back then. Some of the newer ones don't even stand a chance at 8V
@@hirosekoichi466 yessir I kind of new that toys back then was with better quality but I didn't think to the extent metal was used wow.
@@hirosekoichi466it did not even have a (sound) chip just gears and mechanical sound hence the fragile chips dont break because they don't have any
1:04 - the rabbit should be in a metal band
Lars Ulrich be jealous
Nah he does the most breakcore

that bunny is gonna play the drums better than i would in my entire life

Wow, those 60's toys were amazing.
Heavy Metal drummer. 1:00 😂😂😂
nice video!
OMG ITS YOU
HIGH VOLTAGE TOYS IS EVERYWHERE
That oopsie little doll Is fucking Creepy
The dog sounds like blaster rifle zap-zap-zap-zap! 😂 the doll looked posessed
the daisy doll is from the early 90s, and usually doesnt cost much
I'll buen the toy at night
I wish you can explode some parts of the toy with the voltage machine to hear a pop sound and see smoke emerging out of the toy's molten soul.
these can be expensive, so he instead repaired them after since they were faulty to begin with too

Proof once again vintage anything is better.
Not always
The sound effects seemed to last longer at higher voltage than the newer toys.
they're mechanical
5:02 how did they get the sound onto the toy? A very small cassette tape?
@@account-now-closedliterally yes
@@carlthelongshoreman1979 Wow
@@account-now-closed if you have an old toy you can play the sound for awhile and you can hear the tape rewind after you stop it
please refrain from destroying these types of toys, they are fine craftsmanship
100% agreed, These were built to last. They also need to stop destroying Gemmy items and Furbys.
Aside from the 1960s classic Dog toy nothing of value was lost here.
Read the pinned comment.
Someone didn't watch the whole thing, or read the pinned comment before commenting. He fixed them after, thankfully. How hard is it to watch and read?

I like the sounds of the toys
I thought the rabbit would go on for longer, after all it must have had certain batteries originally. (If you know what I mean). LOL.🔋

the rabbit sounded like a piledriver on high volts
Remember that remote control toysnin 1960s are wired? Somehow in the 1990s, rc toys are wireless now! Mostly RC cars.
