Hi Tom, thanks for uploading this video. As I told you, I'm trying to build a Jinty in 7 /4", so I was very curious about yours. However, it looks like they're completely different. The plans I have are by someone called Richard Gomersall, and supposedly are from the early 1990's. The biggest difference I could see is that the cylinders on my plans are arranged with a single steam chest vertically between the two cylinders. I'm looking forward to learning more about yours as you post more videos.
First step would always be to join a club and get involved, that wouldn’t be expensive, after that it can be a slow drip feed, buying materials at the pace you build, or buy a loco that needs rebuilding for a bit more, or most expensive by buying a running loco.
Great video. Isn't it amazing how none of us can help "improving" any new locomotive that comes into our collection 8-)
Thank you for the look around you workshop and engines I am just heading out to my workshop to work on a 7 1/4" NZR class F 0 6 0
Lovely Loco your definitely going to have some fun with that it’s nice you are going to make it look better

According to the system used for the Lickey banking engines, a 9F was rated 2, the Jinties were rated 1, so you've got 1 1/2 9F's. :-)
Great video! I’m building a 31\2 molly which as you mentioned is basically a smaller version of the Jinty.
Yes I have one I am restoring.
How's the progress?
Bit of a Jinty obsession going there 😀
Yeah, but they are great locos…
Interested to see how you make the wooden floor, I’m looking to do that on my 7 1/4
Just wondering, is this your own personal loco, or are you working on it for some one.
This is mine. It’s just the pompom and the Jinty with the boiler issue that are other people’s.
What do the engines weigh? Im very interested in this hobby.
It varies, the 5” Jinty is about 60kg, I haven’t weighed the 7 1/4, but they are all heavier than I would think of picking up by myself.
@@TomsWorkshop42 how much would it cost to get started. I'm in the United States
