It is a masterpiece of a masterclass. So many under layered nuances, details. It requires a student with a range of knowledge wider than what we usually encounter. The scale of Rymsky Korsakov with reference to Sadko would be a foreign language for many, not to mention the relationships in harmony. I am going to listen to it again and I appreciate if you display more lessons of Rena. Thank you.

When I heard Nadia play #9, and watched Rena writing occasional notes, I wondered how Rena was going to improve Nadia's already excellent playing.
But improve it she did! See 12:10.
If you've not read the description, please do because it describes the lesson really well.
I'm so happy we have so many amazing pianists. And I love masterclasses so much, to understand the music better, to learn to play better, and for the excitement of seeing musicians improve - especially wonderfully open minded and receptive ones like Nadia here!

Also, I didn't find a way into Op 39, and this masterclass has totally inspired me to learn #9 😃
