How did u defeat the deadric lord and army?? Elf: I don't know I was unconscious the whole time Breton: I was unconscious the whole time Nordic: i killed and slayed till I killed there lord
Daedra, :) and i think that was more of a spoils of war type situation as even though they fought alongside each other for that brief moment they are still bitter enemies as the hatred between the nords and the elven races runs thick lore-wise.
I love how the Nord decides to challenge the biggest enemy on the field, then survives getting crushed, followed by pulling the female Elven mage from the rubble. Complete badass. (and yes I understand it's only a cinematic... it's still an awesome premise)
It's amusing how many people don't understand the hooded guy's race. I've seen guesses at Imperial, Breton, and Bosmer. Anyone who paid attention to the Alliances trailer shouldn't have any trouble. 1. All three factions are fighting for a certain point in Cyrodiil. They're all fighting the Imperials who are holding the point. (The defenders in heavy armor look like ES4 Legionaires, the ones in light armor look like ES5 Legionaires.) 2. The three main characters are each from a different attacking faction. This is most strongly implied by the ending of the Alliances trailer when they are standing in a circles and then the symbol appears over them. 3. The big guy is obviously a Nord, with some Dunmer allies. He is therefore representing the Ebonhart Pact. Additionally, their face in the symbol is the dragon. 4. The chick is obviously an Altmer from all her use of magic plus pointed ears; she also has Bosmer allies. Thus, the Aldmeri Dominion is represented, symbolize by the eagle face. 5. The Daggerfall Covenant have two human races: Redguards and Bretons. Redguards are typically darker skinned whereas Bretons are fair. In the symbol, the hooded guy is placed under the lion head, indicating that he is in the Daggerfall Covenant. Logical Conclusion: Hooded guy is a Breton. Does anyone have a stronger argument otherwise?
Assassin Class: Go fast and kill guys. Try not to get hit. Mage Class: Kill guys from afar. Try not to get hit. Tank Class: I'M A GO FIGHT THE BIG ONE WITH MY SHARP STABBY! I love tanks so much.
Lessons we get from this: 1: That elven bitch can take a hit 2: Scamps are annoying 3: Mages are overpowered 4: The coolest people always get the worst endings

I've been working as an artist in the gaming industry for over 10 years now and I really love these Cinematic Trailers, hats off to all the amazing artist that worked on it to create this beautiful work. With that said No matter what MMO I play I'm always disappointed with the game after being so pumped up with such amazing cinematics. I'll try to explain as best i can.. You watch the trailer.. you get goose bumps.. You think.. screw it and Drop the 60 bucks..You log-in the game and the atmosphere and the life and soul of the actual game is no where near the Rush you get from watching the Cinematic. I do understand its a Cinematic and there is no way to actually make the game look like this. At least not yet :) What i'm 'talking about is that epic feeling you get while watching it, The darkness, the griddyness, the violent destruction and that beautiful lighting. All these things can be translated into the game if done right and you don't need super hi res models to do it. You just need a good and consistent style guide. Just my opinion nothing more.
I have to admit that this cinematic trailer is the best i've seen so far. Its even better than the Blizzard ones...make a movie like LoTR and it will be the best movie of that genre ever!
I m still shivering blizzard cinematics, this was not bad tho (but as many has already sayd, not intersted the game much enough, even i love ESO games)
So far, from what I've played, the complaints are the vocal few because I honestly love this game. I may play it more than any of the single players by far.
Brian Rosnick I agree with you entirely. This game is dope on a rope. Most of the complaints I have seen are very confusing because I have no idea what they are talking about. People just like to bitch.
True, but then again you're implying that they SHOULDN'T make an epic trailer because it would be "too epic", and in that case, what's the point of making an epic trailer for anything?
After seeing all the "I won't pay for this, I'll wait till it gets free" comments I feel content. It is not even out yet, but already made its playerbase better by getting rid of these whiners nobody likes. Good job! :)
They don't. Bethesda isn't even the one making it, it is Zenimax Online Studios. This is a completely different game, only set in the same universe. Whatever happens in there, won't change anything in TES 6. Those who wish to stay with the single player feeling, can simply skip it and go straight for TES 6 when it happens. I AM a TES fan and I usually hate MMOs, but I will try this one out, just to support them. And I'm pretty sure I will enjoy it.
Wlarius It still might become TORtanic 2. It was originally promised to be this amazing game but when it got to it, it was fucking horrible. Even if there was no subscription model I personally wouldn't play it because TES never had the most engaging gameplay.
***** Different Devs same publishers. Bethesda as a company makes money but the people creating the game are not the same people. As a side note i would like people to show a basic understanding of video game development before commenting.
Why are we whiners because we don't want to dish out 15$ a month forever? That's not whining, that's just an outrageous amount of money for a video game... and if we don't pay it, the game ends. That sucks. Subscription based models are way to expensive, not everyone wants to make such a huge commitment to a freaking video game.
Это самое эпичное, что когда либо я видел, нахуй Голливуд, вот как надо снимать! P.S: Ассассина жалко, плохо что он стал зомби, это был мой любимый персонаж из первого трейлера =(
Been playing the beta as much as possible and the game is sadly not impressing me. Breaking my heart. The funny thing is i'll still buy it and play it to end game because why not?
I always wait a few weeks after release to see gamplay footage and probably see people's opinion. No need to rush things, especially with subscription based games.
Beautiful trailer, just like the last one! People complaining that the MMO won't look exactly like Skyrim are showing their ignorance and their colors. It never was intended to look the same or be as detailed. There's no way to have that lvl of graphical excellence within a game setting with hundreds or more running around the same zone or area or battlefield. I personally think the game looks great and has found the perfect balance between realistic graphics and play-ability. But don't try and tell that to the haters...all they know how to do is hate ;)
I'am actually glad you just said that, most people just play games and don't understand the cost of graphics vs play-ability, the world of any ES game is too wide to maximize the look and not have lag like the original released ff14. It's called sacrifice, lose a little on the look but maximize on in game play. If you want something like skyrim just go replay it lol.
People fail to realise that you can afford better graphics in single player games because IT'S A SINGLE PLAYER GAME. MMOs require more memory and thus graphics have to be lowered to make sure people can play.
vixenVIPER Random internet computer-science nerd here! When it comes to graphics, that's largely a client-side thing--ergo, it's up to people's personal computers to handle the graphics and calculations of displaying gameplay elements from their character's perspective. It's the "game servers" that handle the interaction between players and other players or the game world. Really, the issue is that in multiplayer games computers have to be constantly communicating with the servers, updating them on what state and position the client's character is currently at so that the server can in turn update the game world and send it off to any other players who will be affected by said information (like players in close proximity to the client in question). With small amounts of players in relative proximity in real-space, that's fine. When you're dealing with a huge amount of players potentially over the entire world, that becomes a much larger problem. The timing, engineering and optimization required to get such a game to work in a fashion acceptable to the discerning modern gamer is nearly a small miracle in itself. What I'm getting at is that MMOs tend to have lower graphical/artistic values because computers need to constantly update game servers in order for the game to be truly real-time multiplayer. If all of the client-side computer's calculations are going towards simply rendering the game-world on their end, it makes it increasingly hard for the updates to happen at a timely rate, and you'll see all sorts of issues like lag and desync crop up. (Granted, on a powerful, top-notch rig this isn't as much of a problem, but if you're marketing a game that's intended for many, many, MANY players to be playing at once, you have to design for the lower denominators--i.e. players without powerful, multi-thousand-dollar setups.) tl;dr It's a little miracle that multiplayer games can simply work so much input and output between players in real-time. Having games with inherently high systems demand will simply make it harder for the average rig to communicate with the server, and thus cheapen the experience for everyone else playing. This is why MMO's tend to have lower technical demands on computers than, say, a 16-player multiiplayer shooter. Dammit, that was long and I'm sorry for boring you!
I know right! These CGI shorts that a lot of game companies make trailers for are just amazing! Like I remember seeing Assassin Creed 3's trailer and shitting bricks!
If you see the budget of some of the well.known full CGI animated films, you see that it costs a fortune. How to Train Your Dragon, for example, had a budget of 165 million dollars. As good as it was, it was not even close to the complexitiy of this trailer. I don't think we will live to see the era, when full movies like this trailer will be in cinemas worldwide.
Female Character - High Elf - Sorcerer Bearded Male Character - Nord - Templar Ninja Dude - Breton - Nightblade Each character is a member of a different alliance. Towered city in the end is the Imperial City(Ruby Throne) The Breton is turned undead in the end by the Necromancer Lord Mannimarco(follower of Molag Bal). The tower is actually called " Ayleid White Gold Tower". Hope this helps!
Why do half of the comments say this is the greatest thing in the history of gaming and the other half hate it with the fury of a thousand suns? I'm really excited for it, quit making me sad...
I agree...I think gamer gals are much less negative. All games I've ever played have problems and glitches. Might as well stop gaming if you're waiting for a perfect world!
because a lot of the vocal MMO play base are only really good at one thing: creating hyperbole about anything they dont like, meanwhile the bulk of the players are too busy playing the game than complaining on a forum. Likewise Elder Scrolls has a very loyal fan base with similar type people. Including some who think Oblivion was worse thing ever, and different bunch who say the same about Skyrim, Combine the two you have two huge and grumpy and unreasonable fanbases who would never be happy, no matter what is delivered. Meanwhile the real fans find reasons to LIKE to the game despite their dislikes.
Christian Cruz Exactly. I played the Beta multiple times. I actually went in with an open mind. I tried not to EXPECT anything. So I was very pleasantly surprised at the contrasts it offered in play and environment. The graphics are good. The music is f*cking awesome and the storylines have great depth. It also has long loading screens, quite a few bugged quests and by gods the lag was awful. All in all I think it has potential to be great, for those with the patience to see it through WITH them rather than against them.
JJ Beast The $15 per month will do much more good than it does bad by keeping more of the kiddies out and allowing Zenimax to create new content quickly while remaining comfortably profitable. But hey if 50 cents a day is more than you can afford than it just is, and I'm sorry to hear that.
I am not saying I hate the game, I am doing extra work so I can get the Imperial edition, but I don't want to pay 15 dollars a month after my 80 dollar stating fee. You want a picket sign?
Wait so you are saying that just because ESO's cinematics are good means it is going to fail like SW:TOR did? I don't understand you're logic and quite frankly you're logic is the same as a 7 year old kid.
For those below who whine and complain about the infinitesimal monthly fee of $15.00 for a high quality MMO... Really? You want "it" all it seems; an amazing, vast, mind blowing, stimulating emergent interactive fantasy MMORPG Action game that will be virtually bug free, receive continuous streaming patches and updates, exceptional Progressive dungeon/raid content along with developers who listen to and address the player-base for "FREE" correct? Every play many P2W (Pay to Win) games? Wake up... there is no such thing as a free quality game.
In case any noobs don't understand why the Ebonheart Pact (The Guy who tried to kill the giant Fudging monster) carried the elf, its because the Ebonheart Pact are Nords and Nords have a sense of honor in battle. I don't hate any other guild, I am just stating the facts. I hope this helped :)
They aren't pervs, again, Nords have a sense of Honor. I mean really. Have you even PLAYED skyrim Smoeklo? Or Oblivion? or really and elder Scrolls game? I doubt it. Also, the thief was technically a conjurer
***** actualy the thief is dead now lol, he was resurrected by the necromancer so he works for them now. if he was still there with the nord he would probably have tried to kill them.
I want to buy this completely now. The imperial edition and pre-orders adds an explorer pack, which makes any race available to any alliance. I want the special mudcrab pet. I want the chance to play the imperial, and craft imperial armors (only as an imperial though). And the imperial edition comes with a statue of Molag Bal (awesome), a second era map (for the game), and a lorebook/emperor's guide to tamriel (and with the book, I can finally settle the argument that ESO isn't lore-friendly. It's completely lore-friendly). :D So much cash... So much awesome. :)
I am so pumped for this. I can't wait! The betas have been ridiculously fun and the gameplay is so intuitive. Much more so than any other MMO I've ever played.
Why are there so many people crying about a monthly subscription? Monthly subscriptions are standard for any big mmo. It keeps the developers working on the game, and it pushes new content. If it were free to play, then they would just load the game with an absurd amount of micro-transactions and the game would probably end up being shit. Stop crying about a monthly sub. If you don't like it, then don't play it, and just go back to your consoles playing Call of Repetition.
No kidding what the hell is wrong with people. 15 bucks is an hour of work. You can probably sink 100's of hours a month into this game. Economics says thats an amazing tradeoff
Get on it, HBO! Each season could be a different story. You could do one about the battle of Red Mountain, one about the Dragon Wars, the fall of the Ayleids and Snow Elves, etc. etc.
They need to make an elder scrolls movie, just take one of the conflicts not covered in the games and make it happen. They have the ability to do the animation (obviously... just look at those visuals!) get some good voice actors and they could make an awesome movie
1. Swappable weapon sets midfight 2. Limited spell hotbar with ultimate 3. Cross class AOE synergies 4. Self heals 5. Graphical style, look, feel 6. Score from the same composer Yeah this game is looking a LOT like GUILD WARS 2. This isn't at all a bad thing, but it's undeniably reminiscent.
You could swap weapons in Skyrim and morrwind, came out way before guild wars did, also. they didnt want a clunky UI, self heals was also in Skyrim and morrowwind, and the graphical style / look / feel you wont know till you actually play, so stop being an idiot, its no where near as stupid and pathetic as Guild Wars 2.
Wait, Jeremy Soule's going to do the score? Have you verified this? I recall reading a while ago that there was some other composer working on it, and I noticed the background music in all the trailers and interviews, while "Elder-Scrolls-ish," didn't really sound like Soule's work. Would be good if he was. I don't particularly enjoy Soule much anymore as a personality (all in all he seems to have gotten an inflated ego over the years), but there's no denying he's a hell of a composer, at least as far as Western game composers go.
Apparently you didn't get to play the beta at all. The game doesn't look anything like GW2, it doesn't have the cartoonish oil painting scheme GW2 does at all. It looks and plays like an Elder Scrolls game, it lacks the storyline driven gameplay of Skyrim, but it plays with the same mechanics and it isn't even close to the random npc area grind for karma and completion just so you can advance ever so quickly like GW2 is either. I played the beta for 3 weekends and it has a standard MMO quest grind setup and plays like a mix of one of them and Skyrim. But it is way better than GW2.
MrKaidalen I never personally played Guild Wars 2, but from watching my friends play and doing a bit of research, it appears that to a large majority of the MMO base, GW2 was in fact a very well-designed game with a lot of great and polished mechanics. Personally, I welcome any MMO that tries to break out of the classic MMO compromise of "balance huge servers and giant communities with lacklustre gameplay and lazy grinding", and while GW2 didn't wholly banish the negatives of MMO gameplay, it did leaps and bounds in trying to combat them and bring the gameplay experience of an MMO up to par with other modern games of our time. So props to them! However, just because you disagree with another person does not warrant sweeping generalizations and insults. The guy didn't even say anything particularly inflammatory! He was very objective in presenting his viewpoint. When you counter somebody presenting a viewpoint with a generalization and an insult, you don't damage their credibility--you only end up hurting your own. I don't want to come off as a dick or a white-knight, so I apologize if I did. Just trying to state the facts.
I've played both games and they have no more in common than WoW and Guild Wars 2 or WoW and ESO. They are all very different games which restrict your character customization in different ways. ESO gives you an amazing amount of freedom though and just feels good. I'm really looking forward to ESO.
An FMV movie is the best way to display your game, it tells everyone everything they need to know about the actual gameplay and design of the world and characters.
I want this to be a full length movie. I can't tell if it was CGI, Live Action, or a combination of both. THAT is how well this cinematic was done. I WANT MORE OF IT!!!
ru55ianB Dragons are lesser Aedra and a lot more potent than the lesser Daedra found in Oblivion. Not to mention he also bitch slapped Alduin the Kalpa Eater twice in a row.
I've played the latest beta, and i can indeed tell you the subscription fee is worth it. It's not as other MMO's. It contains interresting quests, not just (Kill 5 rats).
I felt the complete opposite playing the beta, but its all taste i guess.. Couldnt drive myself to do another quest because i found it so mind numbingly boring :/ Had been looking forward tot his game for a long time, sad its not for me i guess.
Funny. I played the beta as well and found it to be a worse MMO than vanilla WoW. Not joking. First annoying thing I noticed was the abundance of instanced zones, no open world at all; and it was all downhill from there.
i dont play wow i play guild wars 2 when i first played it i knew i would never go back to wow no monthly fee, no back tracking in quests, everyone gets there fair share of loot and exp no camping and PVP is evenly matched regardless of lvl after playing the ESO beta the quests felt boring even with the diolauge making it more interesting and its instanced zones not free roam and fast travel is freakin expensive compared to the cost of buying armor so you gona run out of gold very fast if you use waypoints and no matter what faction you pick it all has the same story while on guild wars 2 you can make your own
Sandy Hileman No, they don't have graphics like that because even the best PC you could buy/make wouldn't be able to support graphics that look that amazing, in real time.
The Elf Chick from Aldmeri Dominion is just the real badass in that last fight scene against the daedra warriors, in my opinion that big Nord warrior from Ebonheart Pact would've died if it wasnt for that Elf using her magic to break that chains..causing one of it to hit that big monster's head that the nord was fighting, you can see that Nord also struggled to fight at 09:37. She was without a doubt, the hero in that fight scene against the daedra minions
Anthony Villegas a werewolf yes its easy for them but not so much with that huge daedric monster he was fighting. Try exlcude the Elf battle mage from that fight scene, and only the nord with that daggerfall covenant rogue, the outcome would have been much worse. The rogue as you can see in the scene is already doomed. Of course the Nord would not gave up and fighting till his death. I know that Nord is naturally strong, but brute force is not enough in this kind of fight. Unless he was a Dovahkiin/Dragonborn, he wouldnt stand a chance and This elder scroll story setting takes place about thousand years before Dragonborn/Skyrim.
Lennard von Preyss he could save the elf from the rubble at the end, because the elf save him first by breaking that chains, the chains, eventually hit that daedra monster head and kill it, ...thats pretty much putting the nord our of harms way.
People who are complaining about the monthly payment, if they are adding new content every month, heck they might even add new content every week, then they more than have the right to charge a monthly subscription. The reason to be mad about a monthly subscription is when the game is not changing or getting more content. Gosh, people these days... "I wanna play it for free because I'm not a developer and didn't slave countless hours over a computer to just to not be payed or even thanked for my services! I wanna, I wanna!" What if you weren't payed for your job?
I like to think that since the ritual was interrupted, the Breton wasn't "possessed" or anything, but he just gained some new necro-zombie powers and has succumbed to the dark side of the force but still fights for the Covenant except in his twisted zombie-filled way :) #LongLiveDatBretonGuy
I want everyone to take a deep breath step a few feet back and assess the game without letting the hype get to you. Analyze the game. What made a good Elder Scrolls game? For me, it was immersion, crafting your own unique character, story, freedom of choice, exploration, and atmosphere. Each person plays their own way. The gameplay was minimal, but it's simplicity made it fun. The incredible size of the world, the amount of life within it, made it all feel real. Now, what made a good MMO? Well, I would say the scale of the warfare, be it in pve or pvp. The ability to group up with people you know, or new people, and be able to take down a big guy or go to full scale war with an opposing faction. The complexity of each predefined class created a high skill cap, making MMO's a very competitive genre. I've played 1000+hours of WoW, GW2, LOTRO, SWOTOR, and even some Rift, as well as Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Additionally, I may or may not have been invited to a secret group with unrestricted ESO beta access. I'm going to say this clearly; In ESO, nearly all of the Elder Scrolls qualities conflict with the MMO qualities. To me, the best part of Skyrim and Oblivion was the immersion, and from my experience, MMO's have been the least-immersing genres I've ever experienced. I honestly dont understand how people can consider an MMO immersive when theres random floating chat boxes, enemies that you can walk through, mounts appearing from puffs of smoke, and a UI with bold text stating "DONT STAND IN THIS, IDIOT". This said, I dont understand how someone could think a mix between Elder Scrolls, an immersive single player game, could mix with an MMO. The environment in ESO feels static, which is expected from an MMO hybrid, but still detracts from the game nevertheless. The environment is artificial; there is no collision, no weight, no contact. In Skyrim, I enjoyed just how much you could affect the world, how whether or not you helped the Imperials drive out the Stormcloak rebellion visibly affected the surroundings. Due to being an MMO, each player cant have the same impactfullness. Each player cannot imprint their own little mark into the territory, or impose their own will in any way. The most I've seen from ESO as far as choices affecting what happens is "You can fight here and help her, or you can fight here and help him, and it will affect what NPC is available later!". The choices mean very little, all because of the MMO TES merging. And who can forget the "exclusive bonuses" given to preorders that completely fuck the lore of ESO, which has been developed throughout it's marketing campaign... Additionally, ESO does not allow for unrestricted exploration. Each zone is level-capped, and any attempt at exploring will result in instadeaths, which is typical for MMO's. Now, some admirable things have spawned from the crossover of TES and MMO as well; I found the skill system to be extremely enjoyable. Each character had the same UI as Skyrim, minimal and clean. 5 Abilities were allowed, keeping simplicity yet allowing room for unique combinations. Each class was allowed 3 specs, each with 8 abilities that could be morphed twice, changing how the ability works. This is pretty fucking fantastic. Through this, they achieved the level of unrestricted play style that they advertised so heavily with. It truly feels like each character has their unique playstyles. Additionally, the crafting was superbly implemented in the most recent build. It's simple, intuitive, and produces something well-above the pointless crafted gear of WoW. Ultimately what I've found from the MMO-TES crossover is summed up as a worse Skyrim with restrictive multiplayer elements. The immersion is broken by every MMO factor within the game. The gameplay is above average for an MMO, and it's customization is very strong. Unfortunately, the static environment and sloppy animations that cancel halfway through just make the game feel clunky. I dont think ESO will do well in the long-run. You can argue "Why are you writing a review for a beta, YA IDIOT?" To which I reply: It's two months prior to release. The only thing they are doing is working out bugs. At this point, no changes to gameplay will be drastic enough to change the overall quality of the game. Honestly, I think it would be worth getting for a month or two subscription. I didnt find any reasons whatsoever to return to ESO after moderate periods of gameplay. The world felt too static. Albeit, I have not yet been able to try the PVP. So, its still possible they can pull some divine shit and make the PVP incredible. Lets just hope.
Zackbuizel I actually did, surprisingly. It was well written. I have the same feelings. I think all the good stuff about this game is wasted in a genre that couldn't fit anyway. Which doesn't make it bad in the end. But I will hardly play it, or at least, pay for it. In fact, I assume we are a lot to believe that : Same skill, craft, world design and story telling in a Action/RPG game would have been better. But it wouldn't have earned as much money.
Seriously?? What makes you think I haven't been following this game? If you don't like the game that's fine but just don't watch and comment. Go somewhere else.
SinnfullDuck I've been a long-time fan of the Elder Scrolls, and I can tell you I never have been this sad about a game. Have you played the beta? It's underwhelming. And the monthly fee isn't making me feel better either. Bethesda is taking a risk with this game.
NavidIsANoob Well, I've been in the Beta (twice), and the improvement between the last 2 beta built were very promising. I feel its a solid game, that need work, but for me the positive point worth more than the negative. And I did pre-order too. So I guess, again, its to each is own.
TheMenIdo " go say that to Bethesda" I just did. I am commenting on this video for a reason. It's Uploaded on Bethesdas Channel. Do I really need do explain ?
I think everyone should bare in mind that when taking on the Goliath of the MMO world (WoW), they need to really sell you on their product. And that's just to compete with them, not to overtake them as market-leaders. Their RPGs have always been great quality, so we should probably hold our breath and reserve judgement until this game is actually released.
If i had to think of which MMO currently has a chance to stand in the shadow of WoW (beating it is nearly impossible) i would go for WildStar because it actually takes on new ideas and gets in further to the core with existing features (like housing)
Dr Vagax This game will definitely be getting my money. I'd be very surprised if people didn't like it. I'm not talking skeptical 'tards who don't give things a try, or the play-five-minutes-and-quit types, but people who actually play the game. I wouldn't quit WoW because I love the game, but I'll be spending another $15 a month, that's for sure.
***** Bethesda Softworks is a publisher just like Zenimax Media. Zenimax Online Studios is developing the game. Bethesda also published Dishonored, but you wouldn't say they made it. The company that developed all the Elder Scrolls singleplayer games is Bethesda Game Studios (they also made Fallout 3). And those were published by Bethesda Softworks which is a subsidiary of Zenimax Media.
***** Only because ZOS and Bethesda Softworks are subsidiaries of the same parent company. Activision technically owns Call of Duty, but they don't make it. To say that they do is incorrect.
Bleed4RWB Today I learned that some people have so little a life that they will actually go out of their way to visit something they don't like just so that they can complain about it.
Rogues don't typically command armies. Even during the siege in the earlier trailer, he was mostly just doing his own thing. He's not really being a rogue anymore. Sort of a slave-lich-general now.
Okay, Bethesda, we get it. You really wanted to make an Elder Scrolls movie. Pretty good work. But wouldn't it have been cheaper just to make the movie and not a massive PC/Console MMORPG? All kidding aside, that was pretty spectacular.
Why all the negativity, this could be a great game. Personally I'm looking forward to giving this a good go, if it suxs then fine, cost you no more than a movie ticket and a meal. Give it a chance. Neverwinter got bagged, but I quite enjoyed it. Guild wars 2 was raved about, found it a bit souless. Is it a wow killer? who cares, at least it moves the industry on, can't keep playing 15 year old graphics forever.
Phoenix Wright How much do you get out? that's easily a night on the town. I've cancelled my wow sub for this game, I spend more on my lunch than that sub fee (just clarify, lunch maybe one a week).
KidGunsmoke What micro transactions? also only xbox has another fee, PS4 wavered theirs. The $60 fee is a one off (most do that), the $15 monthly fee (great means regular content and NO micro transactions (ok maybe cosmetic bullshit, even wow does that shit)). Race DLC's? wasn't the DK on wow a DLC? i.e. Wrath of the Lich King.
So I'm guessing Molag Bal was the one who tapped his staff on the ground and cleared away all the debris? Or was that just like a Dremora general or something? Also, the elf chick's magicka reserves were over 9000.
No,see you don't get the power of daedra, see there are powerful kinds of daedra,I think it's a dremora lord or a Xivilai. At least check the elder scrolls wiki, damn, just looking at your statement just makes me wanna commit suicide
LEMAR WILLIAMS Wow, if looking at my comment makes you want to commit suicide, you must be in a pretty dark place already, bro. Hope your life improves.
if you are a classic elder scrolls fan this is not the game for you, I know you nerds want to keep moving forward but this game will be going back to a time before the first Elder Scroll game, for this is the ultimate prequel to exist. now I know the game may have glitches, but we have till april folks, April, and I have only heard bad stuff from about, 15% of all eso beta testers i have met and I have been to forums on the site, only people have i seen down the game, oh and if you dont like it, why do you still play it.
It is kind of hard to understand what you are trying to say. If you say you heard bad things from beta testers, I remind you that the beta is in NDA. Also, a lot of people "claim" to be in the beta just to make their personal opinions sound more worthy. There are at least 5 of these "beta testers" under every TESO video. Not everything on the internet is true.
It's glitchy as hell, chugs along at 15 FPS on more than adequate computers, and can't seem to handle the network stress of all the users. In other words, it's a beta.
Okay, first off, people what did we learn as kids? If you can't say something nice don't say it at all. Second, I agree, MMOs are not going to be as good graphics due to it being- an MMO. Also, if you haven't even given more than a days thought to this or at least act like it I would suggest that you wouldn't say such disrespectful things. If you really don't know anything about this game, or haven't done your research then please, just don't say anything that isn't nice. It's just not worth it. :)
How'd you get away?
Elf: Got carried
Breton: Got carried
Nord: I Carried
How did u defeat the deadric lord and army??
Elf: I don't know I was unconscious the whole time
Breton: I was unconscious the whole time
Nordic: i killed and slayed till I killed there lord
@@EpiC-oz2hlfr, the only reason they stopped was because she destroyed the anchor
The nord switched from dual wielding axe and sword to dual wielding axe and girl. Not a bad combination.
I love how the nord stops to help the elf. Kind of this " Imna need you to help kill these ugly dedra"
Daedra, :) and i think that was more of a spoils of war type situation as even though they fought alongside each other for that brief moment they are still bitter enemies as the hatred between the nords and the elven races runs thick lore-wise.
Nah. Needed a fuck buddy.
Forget the video game, make this a movie
I agree, this would be amazing film :)
i agree as well this clip was brilliant
Aman Singh no no jn
I love how the Nord decides to challenge the biggest enemy on the field, then survives getting crushed, followed by pulling the female Elven mage from the rubble. Complete badass. (and yes I understand it's only a cinematic... it's still an awesome premise)
Badass hero with plenty of impossible feats, an unlikely villain and a damsel in distress...great premise indeed.
ya and apparently he saved her so they could use her as a siege engine to breach the city.
(The defenders in heavy armor look like ES4 Legionaires, the ones in light armor look like ES5 Legionaires.)
Yes marry me please
I was hoping for Redguard, but yes I agree Breton. Assuming so as well since Daggerfall has a Breton King.
tainoskater Only if you fight for High King Emeric. :P
People are going to have seizures because of this ,one can only handle so much badassism.
Get out of here... I'm so stinkin excited!!!! :)
The Elder Scrolls !!
Madilyn your voice is amazing. It's awesome that you like Elderscrolls.
Omg! You can see Molag Bal! 7:44 He's in the clouds. The two eyes and his horns!
Okay, I'll admit. That's pretty cool.
Amazing catch!
Assassin Class: Go fast and kill guys. Try not to get hit.
Mage Class: Kill guys from afar. Try not to get hit.
Tank Class: I'M A GO FIGHT THE BIG ONE WITH MY SHARP STABBY!
I love tanks so much.
That about sums it up LMAO
Because Nords rule :P
Unga Bunga definitely has it's appeal. Not fancy. Not flashy. Just fierce.
Lessons we get from this:
1: That elven bitch can take a hit
2: Scamps are annoying
3: Mages are overpowered
4: The coolest people always get the worst endings
LOL
This is the first time I have wanted a Friday and Saturday to hurry up so Sunday will get here faster! The excitement is building, I can't wait!
I know how you feel. Matter of fact jazzed even my Nephew is playing it, he loved the beta and the games pvp.
Very cool Thomas Denniston

I have to agree damn it it is taking to long after Sunday the days can crawl really slow so to get hours of game time: )
I have only been able to play around 4-5 hours since 5 day head start, I need more hours in the day lol
That shot of the Imperial City gave me some serious nostalgia though.
That elf kicked freaking ass!
I wish they make a movie out of this
The ESO story lines is basically the one we have in real life, just rewritten and magic added to it
I have to admit that this cinematic trailer is the best i've seen so far. Its even better than the Blizzard ones...make a movie like LoTR and it will be the best movie of that genre ever!
I m still shivering blizzard cinematics, this was not bad tho (but as many has already sayd, not intersted the game much enough, even i love ESO games)
ИМПЕРСКИЙ ГОРОД!!!!!
Way more epic than A Twist of Fate.
no idea about the game, but i would pay A LOT, to see whole movie made like that..
Awwwwww shit. Only a few more months my friends.
58 days if you pre-order to be exact.
dont get your hopes up, theres already a lot of complaints :)
Baldoxxx4000 I know but regardless I like to sink my teeth into anything Elder Scrolls even if it just bides my time for VI or Fallout 4.
I've seen enough hentai to know where-Oh wait those are chains.
And thats why I think mages are overpowered!
its fricken impossible to be a low-level mage in most games. But once you get to the high level... DAYUM THEY OP
still fucked without a tank to save its ass ;)
How good the game is going to be... that is something we will see in April. This trailer, however, is Blizzard level. I was absolutely amazed by it.
So, the Nord saved the Altmer. The shipping has begun. Awesome trailer
Way to make the game look way more epic than it actually will be.
True, but then again you're implying that they SHOULDN'T make an epic trailer because it would be "too epic", and in that case, what's the point of making an epic trailer for anything?
This aged well
After seeing all the "I won't pay for this, I'll wait till it gets free" comments I feel content. It is not even out yet, but already made its playerbase better by getting rid of these whiners nobody likes. Good job! :)
You're missing the part that we are the TES fans and you are the MMO fans. It's incredibly wrong of them to prioritize the new fans to the old fans.
Heh. Typical Nord, going after the big guy first.
Who's excited and planning on buying it? Who's passing thinking that the game won't live up to the trailer? Taking a poll in the office!
Already bought it.
I am buying it.
Been playing the beta as much as possible and the game is sadly not impressing me. Breaking my heart. The funny thing is i'll still buy it and play it to end game because why not?
Connor Williams I like your thinking.
Also not to mention that most of the graphics u see in their beta are placeholders :)
Damnit I love the people in this thread.
vixenVIPER Random internet computer-science nerd here!
(Granted, on a powerful, top-notch rig this isn't as much of a problem, but if you're marketing a game that's intended for many, many, MANY players to be playing at once, you have to design for the lower denominators--i.e. players without powerful, multi-thousand-dollar setups.)
tl;dr It's a little miracle that multiplayer games can simply work so much input and output between players in real-time.
4:38 I was once an adventurer like you. and then i got AN ARROW IN THE KNEE. XD
You can see Molag Bal in the clouds at 7:45 =)
Looks EPIC. So pumped for this game =D
Good to see you here! Stay Destro!
just when i wasn't thinking about ESO anymore this comes out... now its the only thing on my mind.. Can't wait.
Breton: ill take the knights
Elf: ill take the archers
Nord: Ill take the dark souls boss
Just make a fucking movie already!
I know right! These CGI shorts that a lot of game companies make trailers for are just amazing! Like I remember seeing Assassin Creed 3's trailer and shitting bricks!
CGI is more expensive than you think. Even more expensive than paying all the famous actors/actresses in a movie.
***** well this cgi film is already made in 2007 and its called beowulf/
If you see the budget of some of the well.known full CGI animated films, you see that it costs a fortune. How to Train Your Dragon, for example, had a budget of 165 million dollars. As good as it was, it was not even close to the complexitiy of this trailer.
I don't think we will live to see the era, when full movies like this trailer will be in cinemas worldwide.
they had to make some serious money from skyrim though everyone has it and most of the dlc/ mods
Vibrating Dolphin once swam to the domain of Molag Bal, Coldharbour. He thought it was "pretty chill".
hahahahahahahaah what in the hell did I just read.
I feel like you made that account just for that comment...god I hope that's not true.
HoukouUkage Vibrating Dolphin has been vibrating for longer than ESO has been around, so don't worry.
Vibrating Dolphin Phew, got me worried there. I almost lost faith in humanity...again.
The qualiy of the sound effects is suprisingly lower than that of the visual effects.
Female Character - High Elf - Sorcerer
Bearded Male Character - Nord - Templar
Ninja Dude - Breton - Nightblade
Each character is a member of a different alliance.
Towered city in the end is the Imperial City(Ruby Throne)
The Breton is turned undead in the end by the Necromancer Lord Mannimarco(follower of Molag Bal).
Many of the negative comments are coming from Zenimax competitors. It's a sad but true state of the industry.
because a lot of the vocal MMO play base are only really good at one thing: creating hyperbole about anything they dont like, meanwhile the bulk of the players are too busy playing the game than complaining on a forum.
It'll probably be a hybrid of something not as bad as the haters say, but not as good as the fanboys will praise it to be.
Well, shit. That was epic.
JJ Beast You wana riot for no monthly fees? I have a few picket signs left over from protesting Sim City's DRM
JJ Beast $15 per month isn't actually that bad of a price...
Anyone else then?
What the hell I loved that assassin fellow from the last trailer! You give him back right now evil sorcerer personage!
That war cry though...
I am pretty sure that evil sorcerer was molag baal.
Tristan Marx
it spelled Molag Bal
I threw the extra a in there on accident but thanks anyways.
Tristan Marx
It could always have been one of the Tharn family members.
Daniel Gonzalez You are right, i didnt even know who the tharn were until i looked it up on the wiki.
Uh oh, somethings pressing against my zipper... :3
God damn trailer boners
Jfc
yeah, the cinematic trailers for SWTOR looked great too...
shut the fuck up fuck starwars
and SWTOR is great)
I was gonna say the same thing...its got the same feeling to it..
Jacob Slapinski TOR was an unmitigated disaster with horrendous gameplay, graphics and engine.
Wait so you are saying that just because ESO's cinematics are good means it is going to fail like SW:TOR did? I don't understand you're logic and quite frankly you're logic is the same as a 7 year old kid.
I have no fucking idea what just happened, but that was fucking amazing...
awesome things happened
For those below who whine and complain about the infinitesimal monthly fee of $15.00 for a high quality MMO... Really? You want "it" all it seems; an amazing, vast, mind blowing, stimulating emergent interactive fantasy MMORPG Action game that will be virtually bug free, receive continuous streaming patches and updates, exceptional Progressive dungeon/raid content along with developers who listen to and address the player-base for "FREE" correct? Every play many P2W (Pay to Win) games? Wake up... there is no such thing as a free quality game.
While I hate to agree with you, I do.
3:48 HELL YEAH!!!
Let it go! Let it goooooo!
This is a hell of a CG opening. I'm ready to pre-order, but not based on this video only. :)
i hear you going to take a lot for me to fork out 15 a month + 60 for the game
From my experience in the beta it's enjoyable. I love the crafting system and how you can customise weapons and armour when crafting them.
I used to be a high elf too... then 4:40 I took an arrow in the knee....
Fml.
No it's because Nords are pervs. Would he have carried away the thief as well? Or a male Altmer? She's still going to kill him.
They aren't pervs, again, Nords have a sense of Honor. I mean really. Have you even PLAYED skyrim Smoeklo? Or Oblivion? or really and elder Scrolls game? I doubt it. Also, the thief was technically a conjurer
***** actualy the thief is dead now lol, he was resurrected by the necromancer so he works for them now. if he was still there with the nord he would probably have tried to kill them.
zetaplusblue The thief must have been redguard.. Had he been Breton he would have resisted the spell!
You are naive. He is so gonna bone her.
I love how badass the dremora was, the breton stuck a sword through his chest and all he did was push him away 20 feet.
So much cash... So much awesome. :)
I am so pumped for this. I can't wait! The betas have been ridiculously fun and the gameplay is so intuitive. Much more so than any other MMO I've ever played.
8 min cutscene NICE,whens the film coming out?
I'd watch it
7:44 Molag Bal in the storm
Why are there so many people crying about a monthly subscription? Monthly subscriptions are standard for any big mmo. It keeps the developers working on the game, and it pushes new content. If it were free to play, then they would just load the game with an absurd amount of micro-transactions and the game would probably end up being shit. Stop crying about a monthly sub. If you don't like it, then don't play it, and just go back to your consoles playing Call of Repetition.
You, sir, get my lifetime supply of bacon just for that comment!
No kidding what the hell is wrong with people. 15 bucks is an hour of work. You can probably sink 100's of hours a month into this game. Economics says thats an amazing tradeoff
THAT STILL ONLY COUNTS AS ONE!!!
You sir are awesome
You know, this video really begs the question: Why the crap isn't there an Elder Scrolls TV show yet? SO MUCH LORE TO WORK OFF FROM!
Or movie
Get on it, HBO! Each season could be a different story. You could do one about the battle of Red Mountain, one about the Dragon Wars, the fall of the Ayleids and Snow Elves, etc. etc.
They need to make an elder scrolls movie, just take one of the conflicts not covered in the games and make it happen. They have the ability to do the animation (obviously... just look at those visuals!) get some good voice actors and they could make an awesome movie
i been playing elder scrolls since daggerfall and one thing i have learned in all of the games is DONT FUCK WITH MAGIC :P
To those who hate it dont play the game period. For those who loves it see you in game!
If the quality of this cinematic is a reflection of the rest of the game...truly the best game trailer I have ever seen.
It is not.
It's most not. Gameplay it's quite an bore, I rather wish they made this trailer as a normal singleplayer game or at most include COOP.
I don't care how good or bad the game might be. This trailer is breathtaking, and i want to see a full motion picture like that. NOW!
1. Swappable weapon sets midfight
2. Limited spell hotbar with ultimate
3. Cross class AOE synergies
4. Self heals
5. Graphical style, look, feel
6. Score from the same composer
Yeah this game is looking a LOT like GUILD WARS 2.
There is a gameplay video that they released recently:
elderscrollsonline.com/en/media/videos/703
You're welcome.
Don't mind me, just watching this again
I want this to be a full length movie. I can't tell if it was CGI, Live Action, or a combination of both. THAT is how well this cinematic was done. I WANT MORE OF IT!!!
Gotta love how 3 war-leaders can barely handle a daedric invasion but centuries later 1 prisoner (Hero of Kvatch) pretty much solos one.
You have to admit that Oblivion's story isn't that "epic" or believable anyway. :)
To be fair, the lore is that the hero was placed in the world by the gods.
So he's a demigod pretty much.
Skill in combat doesn't make you a war leader.
ru55ianB Dragons are lesser Aedra and a lot more potent than the lesser Daedra found in Oblivion. Not to mention he also bitch slapped Alduin the Kalpa Eater twice in a row.
ru55ianB And stopping the end of the motherfucking kalpa is a whole different thing, #lore
They NEED to make a movie.
I was waiting for one of them to sing its such a perfect day lol.
That Nord went straight for the giant. What a beast!
That Nord looks like Dovahkiin 2.0
*****
Funny I was in beta and it was mostly opened world. There was only 3 instanced dungeons by level 17.
***** When the game comes out the level cap will be 50. But on the beta the cap was 17. I played the beta myself.
i dont play wow i play guild wars 2 when i first played it i knew i would never go back to wow no monthly fee, no back tracking in quests, everyone gets there fair share of loot and exp no camping and PVP is evenly matched regardless of lvl after playing the ESO beta the quests felt boring even with the diolauge making it more interesting and its instanced zones not free roam and fast travel is freakin expensive compared to the cost of buying armor so you gona run out of gold very fast if you use waypoints and no matter what faction you pick it all has the same story while on guild wars 2 you can make your own
Wake me up when in game graphics will be like that.
they can't have the graphics be really amazing because they have to allow for computers that can't handle graphics like that.
Sandy Hileman No, they don't have graphics like that because even the best PC you could buy/make wouldn't be able to support graphics that look that amazing, in real time.
it would be a lag party
we will thaw you awake in 20 years bruh
The Elf Chick from Aldmeri Dominion is just the real badass in that last fight scene against the daedra warriors, in my opinion that big Nord warrior from Ebonheart Pact would've died if it wasnt for that Elf using her magic to break that chains..causing one of it to hit that big monster's head that the nord was fighting, you can see that Nord also struggled to fight at 09:37. She was without a doubt, the hero in that fight scene against the daedra minions
Dude. He is a Nord. They can slaughter a werewolf with one hand I think he would have been fine.
***** He would have summoned Ysgamor to help him fight.
and thats exactly why he saved the high elf
I wanna, I wanna!" What if you weren't payed for your job?
love it. great point couldn't have put it better myself
LALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU #LongLiveDatBretonGuy
The ritual wasn't interrupted, the daedra killed the Breton and Mannimarco raised him so the Breton can lead his army to siege the Imperial City
it waaas aa joooooke
@@JurrasicChase Thank you, now i know
n thats too bad, I really liked the assassin dude

I want everyone to take a deep breath
step a few feet back
and assess the game without letting the hype get to you.
I've played 1000+hours of WoW, GW2, LOTRO, SWOTOR, and even some Rift, as well as Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Additionally, I may or may not have been invited to a secret group with unrestricted ESO beta access. I'm going to say this clearly;
In ESO, nearly all of the Elder Scrolls qualities conflict with the MMO qualities.
Did anyone read it?
Victtor da Silva Mendes
yeah, and I don't care, it is the opinion of 1 person, I recommend playing before you make any decisions.
Victtor da Silva Mendes heck no, that post is way too long lol
Zackbuizel I actually did, surprisingly. It was well written.
I have the same feelings. I think all the good stuff about this game is wasted in a genre that couldn't fit anyway.
Which doesn't make it bad in the end. But I will hardly play it, or at least, pay for it.
In fact, I assume we are a lot to believe that :
Same skill, craft, world design and story telling in a Action/RPG game would have been better. But it wouldn't have earned as much money.
Joey Wei The opinion of one person who, unlike the majority, has merit to his opinion over others because of his extensive experience with the game.
All the Skyrim kiddies are hyped. Less than a year and it will be free to play
Yep, the console kiddies especially.
Sounds like someone is still being milked by WoW, tsk tsk...so sad.
***** fuck WoW, and fuck you.
Too bad even as a free game it's not worth my money. (And I don't mean cash shops etc.)
No more Thu'ums for you.
as soon as i seen the imperial city.. (no words)
OMG that was awesome! Pre order complete!
You pre-ordered based off a trailer? Prepare to be really disappointed with this game...
SinnfullDuck He IS a noob so there could be that
NavidIsANoob Well, I've been in the Beta (twice), and the improvement between the last 2 beta built were very promising. I feel its a solid game, that need work, but for me the positive point worth more than the negative. And I did pre-order too. So I guess, again, its to each is own.
Pause it at 3:48.
Great, now make a trailer like this for Fallout 4 :DD
go say that to Bethesda, the ones who actually makes the fallout series. elder scrolls online is being made by zenimax online studios, thank you.
TheMenIdo But this was posted on the Bethesda channel. Seems like a good place to ask for it.
TheMenIdo "
go say that to Bethesda" I just did. I am commenting on this video for a reason. It's Uploaded on Bethesdas Channel. Do I really need do explain ?
GMVGeneration
Oops Sorry commented through the wrong channel.:D
The CGI looks great! Kudos to Bethesda. We might have a juggernaut in our midst.
Bethesda's not making it.
*****
Bethesda Softworks is a publisher just like Zenimax Media.
Aeghamedic Your stupid.
Anexxblaster Facts just too difficult for you to wrap your head around?
*****
Only because ZOS and Bethesda Softworks are subsidiaries of the same parent company.
Activision technically owns Call of Duty, but they don't make it. To say that they do is incorrect.
The Elder Scrolls...the only game which trailer doesnt need words to make us feel a chill in the spine
Even after 1K years after events of Online peoples are same.
And what do we learn today, folks? Always be a mage.
No, we learned no matter how shitty your game is idiots will get hyped if you make good cgi trailers.
Bleed4RWB Today I learned that some people have so little a life that they will actually go out of their way to visit something they don't like just so that they can complain about it.
Bleed4RWB Oh, please, don't get me wrong. I don't care too much about this game. I watched it like a short animated film.
Damn it, the Rogue was my favorite.
Rogues don't typically command armies. Even during the siege in the earlier trailer, he was mostly just doing his own thing. He's not really being a rogue anymore. Sort of a slave-lich-general now.
*****
mind = blown
Greatest CGI short film of all time. Pixar should pick this up for a full version. Someone start that petition, I'm too lazy. I'll sign though! :D
Can we just have a whole movie like this please…. PLEASE. O.O
I would pay for that
1980sBoy
*Zenimax notices comment*
"How much are you willing to pay?"
:)
(shoves wallet in their direction)
Take it...just...just take it.....
Its $60 and then a $15 subscription fee, fuck that.
Phoenix Wright How much do you get out? that's easily a night on the town. I've cancelled my wow sub for this game, I spend more on my lunch than that sub fee (just clarify, lunch maybe one a week).
$60 game + $15 sub month + $5 Gold month + micro transactions + race dlc's. Its obviously milking the franchise.
Draconorst You sound like the type who flaunts money just because he has it.
Or enchanted armor with 100% mana reduction for destruction spells
Yes, that was Molag Bal's work. It's a dark anchor and these kinds of events figure prominently in the game.
It wasn't Molag Bal, as Molag Bal is the physical world is about 80 feet tall, and with a big-ass mace. No, that was probably a Dremora Mage.
"this is the ultimate prequel to exist" How can anyone be this stupid?
Wlarius I went through the beta testing, I am not permitted to talk about the experience due to the NDA. :)
Rose Williams You broke NDA admitting that you were in the beta. =/
It's glitchy as hell, chugs along at 15 FPS on more than adequate computers, and can't seem to handle the network stress of all the users.
In other words, it's a beta.
Omg, I miss the Imperial City so much... Such an awesome city for a TES game.
Holy shit, a voice of reason!
I like how you think
Pause at 7:44 Wtf is that in the top left corner? o.o
molag bal ?
Miguel Tock I think it is Mehrunes Dagon ,but I am not at all sure.
that my friend is molag bal the bad guy .... but the whole demonic head in the clouds thing is kinda over dramtic if you ask me :p
molag bal
holy shit I didn't fucking realize that, I think its molag bal, daedric god of the dead
