I'm back at the Hunter Hawker, trying to figure out what EDF I can fit in the fuselage. For some reason, the EDF suggested in the plans does not fit at all.

    ** INFO ***
The IRX4 is a Multiprotocol Module (MPM) designed for use with FrSky X-Lite radios and other radios with a X-Lite style module bay.
If you have been in this hobby for a while, you will likely have amassed quite a collection of RC models and not necessarily all of them bound to the same radio control, so probably a collection of radios too. That’s where this multiprotocol TX module will come in handy. It incorporates four RF chips into one transmitter module and supports pretty much all of the communication protocols used in the RC hobby so that you can control everything from a single radio. It supports pretty much all of the communication protocols used in the RC hobby, enabling it to control aircraft with Spektrum, FrSky, Flysky, Futaba, Hubsan, Syma, Bayang and many more other types of receivers. This module will also be useful to FrSky users that require support for D8 - latest FrSky ACCESS radios have removed support for the D8 protocol, this module can be used with ACESS radios and brings back compatibility with D8.
The Module features a STEM32 microcontroller (MCU), which has enough on-board storage space to store all of the protocols you need without having to re-flash it. Should you need to update it, it has an active Bootloader so can be re-flashed via USB. This module is compatible with the Multi-module project on github. All available protocols are included in serial mode. In this mode, it uses a serial protocol to communicate with your transmitter. The serial protocol does not require any hardware modifications, but you should update the firmware on your transmitter to the latest. Then the model protocol selection and binding is done from the Model Settings menu on your transmitter. For telemetry capable transmitters, the telemetry integration is done seamlessly with the transmitter firmware.

Hehe, all about the FSA apparently, will work it all out with George when I feeling better, it’s only a Man Bug 😂

Chris glue it into the edf 1-2 mm back from when it hits the FAN - OR apply a little heat to the duct so it will mold over the Fan unit - also Trim some of the plastic and some of the wood away from where it sits and it will fit.. go for the 64mm or just make a part that will fit over the end of the duct that is a few more mm so it will fit - should be an easy fix - enjoyed the video - cheers

That’s a great idea Martyn. I need to work out the FSA, I might be able to open up the formers to allow the 70mm fan. I will be working out the best way forward one evening this week with one of George’s build nights.
Have a great week ahead. 🫡

at 18:20 you have the front of the fan pointing to the exit. The motor points towards the tail.

Heya Caroline, I was just using that as a demonstration how small the pipe was to the fan. I need to do some calculations on the (FSA) then I can get the correct tube size, then play around with the formers so the pipe fits. All good fun, I hope you had a great weekend. Here’s to a great week ahead 👍🏻

Chris ducking around the size jig is a great idea. I’d lean towards the 70mm for more zoom zoom zoom. Maybe use one of those Call a Friend cards, calling Cliff. 😊😅😂 Jeff in IA USA

Heya Jeff, yup I need to work out the FSA and see how I can fit in the 70mm. George from 4 max has a build night, so I am going Thursday to get pro tips.
Hope you have a great week buddy. 👍🏻

My two penneth worth Chris. I would make the 70mm George gave you fit to give it a chance on launch the 70mm will give it more thrust at lower speeds just due to diameter. Glad your getting out with the Alpha mate 👍

The kit is designed for a wemotec mini fan which is a 69mm fan.
The latest versions are super powerful.
50mm fan won’t fly the hunter.

I would go for the 70mm and make it fit but if you watch my TN Hunter build and go to 10:43 you'll see how I did mine, the exit tube girs over the outside of the rear of the fan unit, cheers. ruclips.net/video/ikh2MCAgDHk/видео.htmlsi=x4zHV84jJwFXaph0

Heya Cliff, just looked, this is what I need to achieve. I may need to cut the inner forma to enable a tube to fit. I will work out the (FSA) first then work out how to squeeze in the 70mm. Thanks for the info buddy. 🫡
