If you watching white lotus series from 1& 2, all the stories are related to conflict between hotel guests (white people) and hotel stuff (local residents) they are the main characters. Well the company was copying their whole image and had plans to alter dump them like they did to their other girl groups! So I think new jeans quitting early is good. They can maybe start anew and minheejin already has a loyal team. So this plan is better than what hybe is doing with them.

If NJ will try to terminate the contracts, they may get screwed. They can lose (which is what prob would happen), and if they win, HYBE can get them blacklisted from promoting on music shows (what SM did to Jessica). If Cube used the same concepts as NJ, it wouldn't be a problem because it's in the public domain. However, Hybe likely has a contractual responsibility to promote signed groups in good faith. Extensive copying from one in-house group to another isn't acting in good faith for either group.

None of us have access to their contract, but Hybe probably has nothing to worry about

They'll have announced it via the Press. They'll have to pay the penalty eg buy out the reminder of their contracts if they want to leave also do they even own the name New Jeans is another issue as is the right to their music. It never goes well when a group who try to get out of their contract before it's renewal date and this early into a contract they are never heard of again.
I believe that even if they won the lawsuit (which I'm sure is coming), I think only one group in kpop 'lawsuit' history was allowed to keep their name and music (Got7). Most groups don't get to even if they win the case against their label

It's not just a "trend". What's happening with NewJeans involves human rights and idol rights, as well as labor laws. What they are fighting for will not end until they make a difference, not just because for them but also for other idols in the industry, as there is not much laws in protecting artists and their rights currently in South Korea. Fans hate it when artists are mismanaged/sabotaged, but when artists fight back and seek their rights they are hated and say "they are seeking attention". Besides, most idols in Korea right now are in support, and has triggered a butterfly effect, with Seungkwan even speaking out after NewJeans about how fans are horrible and how idols are also just "human".

SM* is accused of plagiarising TXT, just to make it clear that nobody (normal) is blaming the artist. Of course, the photoshoots look too similar to the point everyone would associate it to Ggum and it's obvious, because the pose, haircolour, gum and colour schemes are very similar. It's not the first time SM copies TXT.
I haven't watched the WayV MV yet. But I just feel that it's far too soon for this to be legitimate plagiarism, or honestly even inspiration. It's not unusual to find a handful of images that look similar in two different MVs. In this case, the similarities look particularly striking, but it's only a couple of images from an MV. An MV just takes too long to plan.

Even if it takes a long time or not, it's definitely made after Ggum came out, and I think the similarity is way too obvious to deny it, even if it's just for the photos. It's not common for a theme to match so much with another, so i think we can call out SM for copying. Unless Yeonjun works for SM, the possibility of them thinking of a concept so similar to his in this time frame is so low.

What people need to realize is that New Jeans is speaking up not just because of their rights but also idols'. They are not just the only victims of Hybe corporate, but also Jimin, Jungkook, Taehyung, BlackPink, Ive, etc. Hybe as a collective is weird and is weird about minors(disgusting remarks about minor trainees and minor idols about their looks and misogyny) and it runs much much deeper. New Jeans are against the mafia, who's in control of articles and the media with how much they manipulate a lot behind the scenes, and if they didn't speak up, it'll only get worse from here. A lot of idols such as Seungkwan was also encouraged by their fight, and has uploaded a lengthy post about how idols are just "human" and how they shouldn't be treated as machines and how fans or haters should be careful about their words. I am so proud of them, New Jeans, with how young they are and they're already fighting for idol rights(especially foreign idol rights). It seems like fans don't like when idols get mismanaged or mistreated, but when idols fight back, they get called "attention seekers" and "manipulated" when they only wanted to sing and dance, without malicious slander, without someone backstabbing all their hardwork. MHJ, whether people admit it or not, pay her staff and NJs higher and more fairly than your usual agency. Compared to Hybe which not only have a record of concealing staff/utility staff accidents and a death in the building, but also actively participate in malicious slander in their groups and other groups. Another thing is that they mismanage money, esp. What people don't understand is out of NewJeans v Hybe issue, NJ win. Hybe basically violated their contract, and from the looks of the latest news, Hybe stocks are taking a hit. The general public, especially Korea, support NJ and has signed a petition against Hybe and has reached 100k Korean Signatures. Hybe was playing a crazy game damaging/slandering NJ for no reason just to raise their other girl groups when they should've been equally loved and taken care of (all their girl groups). Additionally, all the brands with NJ will seek damages with Hybe if NJ is no more, and Hybe will probably have no choice but to comply with NJ terms and seek justice(in their proposed contract, they also mentioned that Hybe search for those involved in slandering them, those who made the 1000+ page of slandering other groups and even their own like Jungkook and Jimin). Bang Shihyuk is crazy, he hates his own boys and his own groups just because it's not from him/cater to him/don't idolize him. All this for a horrible man's fragile ego

MHJ is not the only person to create concepts. Literally it happens to companies all the time. They just don't go to the media like she did. New Jeans can't just leave easily because Hybe earns about 80% of that company. Think about who bought the rights to their name, their fandom name, music and many more. It will just be a legal battle. They might not win against Hybe, and the longer it goes on they won't promote and people lose interest. People say the fandom is strong but it has not even been two years since their debut.

It depends on the outcome of the case. If they win, their contracts are terminated without paying the termination fee and can join another company BUT Hybe owns the rights to the name, music, fandom name, etc. They would have to buy the rights from Hybe which I don't they will sell. They could also be blacklisted if Hybe wants to. We'll have to wait and see how Hybe responds to the notice.

None of us have access to their contract, but Hybe probably has nothing to worry about

It's not just a "trend". What's happening with NewJeans involves human rights and idol rights, as well as labor laws. What they are fighting for will not end until they make a difference, not just because for them but also for other idols in the industry, as there is not much laws in protecting artists and their rights currently in South Korea. Fans hate it when artists are mismanaged/sabotaged, but when artists fight back and seek their rights they are hated and say "they are seeking attention". Besides, most idols in Korea right now are in support, and has triggered a butterfly effect, with Seungkwan even speaking out after NewJeans about how fans are horrible and how idols are also just "human".

New Jeans can't just leave easily because Hybe earns about 80% of that company. Think about who bought the rights to their name, their fandom name, music and many more. It depends on the outcome of the case. If they win, their contracts are terminated without paying the termination fee and can join another company BUT Hybe owns the rights to the name, music, fandom name, etc. They would have to buy the rights from Hybe which I don't they will sell. They could also be blacklisted if Hybe wants to. We'll have to wait and see how Hybe responds to the notice.
